I'm a minority and I don't feel that it was about race. I think that the Republican Party did a poor job at executing our Conservative beliefs. We need to change this and quickly.
Seemed clear, Republicans are pro-life, pro gun, pro religion, strong homeland, dropped the ball on finacial issues. Simple. The fact that you are a minority may cloud your judgement on the race issue. Voters have spent years being told we are not seeing what is right in our eyes. I suggest you take 2nd look at this issue and not claim your heritage allows you insite the rest of us cant understand.
What if its about race? And whites are the only people not in on the big joke. You people better start calling it like it is. 98%blacks vote Obama? (no right to lifers, no pro guns in black community) 78% hipanic vote Obama ( no pro life catholics) 80% jews vote Obama (WTF) Ummmm this party better find out if we have a race issue on our hands. Since whites make up 68 % of the nation and falling fast!
Well, hccowboy, it must mean that a very large amount of whites in this country voted Obama. Our party needs and must get back to basics and follow the ideals that once dominated this nation. That is why we formed our group. Because Greg Mangum has a vision for our young people: that it is up to us and our generation to restore traditional Conservative values to government. Thanks anyway for your concern.
With all due respect sir: Might the white vote have been broken by the following voters all of whom are white: Gays, interracial partners, dumb college kids, extream left wingers. My claim is not that race rules the vote for whites, however to ignor that race might rule the vote for minorities is at least worthy of more investigation.
I believe the US Census defines race and ethinicity as two different things... so 'whites' actually make up 76% of the United States population and even in 2050 this percentage will only fall to 74%. That 68% crap is partly true but is more of a fearmongering.
Of course, it all depends on whether you classify white Hispanics as white. But do you deny that Italians, Spanish and Portuguese are white?
Hispanics of Mexico clearly are not white. The majority clearly identify more closely with mexico as a nation and culture than Euro-Americans. The hispanics of spain while not white, clearly identify themselves as closest to Euro-American, same with Portuguese, and Italians. Note we have far fewer of the above mentioned. The divide is clear and you know it.
Then why does the US census define some of these Hispanics as white?
Hispanics don't only come from Mexico, they come from all over South America, and certain countries in South America are more white than US or many European countries these days. But thanks to your narrow definition of what being white means (being from Europe or NA), they go straight off to being right there with blacks.
The census is not precise. With the influx of illegal labor from mexico, I would say we have more hispanics than we understand. Unlike the hispanics of Spain, the South American hispanics are much more ethnocentric in nature. This divide seems to be a great fit for the African American ethnocentrics. Again I point to the Nov 4 vote we saw hispanics aline with blacks against basic issues such as right to life, guns, conservative values, in favor of race and the unknown.
That's true, but I bet the Catholic Europeans (Irish, Italians, maybe Germans) showed similar tendencies back in the day. Integration has to be an emergent process, I am afraid.
Id agree on the similar process of intergration. But, note that that process of intergration did not take place for African Americans and it seems the hispanics of South America are on the same path. Both groups seem disinterested in intergration, in favor of ethnocentric values. I could be wrong but what if I am not wrong. What if it is race, and not ideas that rule the day. I think we will all find out soon.
And even if Hispanics all came from Mexico, it really depends on which ethinic groups they come from, doesn't it? I mean, you can't call Mestizos white, but a Mexican who looks like Felipe Calderon... all the same to you?
The behavior of the people of South America seems to be a common link. Id suggest that hispanics of Spain have washed into the Euro American culture with no ethnocentric issues.

Well, Hispanics are a lot closer to European way of life than blacks and they didn't come to America in bonds.. but yes we will find out eventually.
