  • is this completly free?

  • whats the name of the toolbar this guy uses?

  • ok im confused do u need cds on onlive?

  • @123ibee no u can download it for free

  • A native resolution can be whatever someone wants, then it may get scaled.

The whole 480p, 720p, etc business... they should just do away with "p" as it's pretty much irrelevant in the HDTV and PC realm and progressive scan isn't a big feature any more.

FWIW, I played Onlive for hours and the image looked about the same as when I scale up a 1280x720 image to my LCD panel.of my Macbook. On my wired ethernet connection, I didn't see one case where it looked like streamed video (just upscaled)

  • Since this is all downloading, I have only a 60 gb transfer whatever that means would I go over my 60 gb transfer per month gaming on this?

  • Comment removed

  • are there games maxed out, as in the detail settings for pc games? Does batman use Physx at all?

  • cloud computing is the future. so cloud gaming is the future for gaming.

  • resolution is a very compressed 720p, blocky and looks very washed out. Onlive sucks.

  • @asspop123 Well since I'm running on a GeForce 6100 I'd say the graphics are amazing, I'd never thought I could play games like F.E.A.R 2 on my graphics card, it wouldn't even start. I found OnLive this morning and it's fucking amazing.

  • @asspop123 it's better than not being able to play the game at all because of lacking system requirements.

that's what it's realy about. getting rid of the need for hardware and opening more customers to more options where they can spend money. not bad for the player or the company. it's smart. as for all those people that have realy good computers, that may be improved in the future, as for me, i would mind either way.

  • im selling my wii for the micro system

  • @gamezonic who asked?

  • @djmack96 no one

  • @gamezonic ok then JK

  • @djmack96 no one

  • anyway, can you play a game from the beginning to the end? or is this just about jumping in and out of games? i dont' quite understand

  • @ya679 No due to compression you will never get 1080p atleast not yet, in the future? maybe. But I currently have the onlive microconsole with 20mb/s up and down from fios and i would say its under 720p I have not seen it get better then 720p nor do I think it is all that close, I would say somewhere around 580-620p. I have also found playing shooting games with the controller are very hard and laggy.

  • @enisity yeah, it gets updated in the new year to be able to go up to 1080p. the graphical quality is dependent on your connection. I get 720p without compression. a demonstration for onlive is simply impossible.

  • @enisity omg dont talk too smart if you dont know what your talking about. there is no 580p or 620p. there is 240p, 360p , 480p, 720p and 1080p.

  • @didzels12 I understand that I am just saying thats what it looks like its not quite 720p but not as bad as say 480p

  • @enisity You're right, It is 576p. just don't reply to stupid comments, ppl are just assholes

  • @enisity Actually there is something like 580p. It's quite simple - it means that there would be 580 horizontal scan lines - or pixels. So yeah, it's quite a possible resolution. The fact that resolutions 720p etc are the popular standard does not mean others don't exist. Games like Halo 3 on the x360 and CoD series on both PS3 and x360 run at resolutions lower than 720p, no matter what. Just google it. So yeah, don't talk too smart if you dont know what you're talking about, didzels12.

  • @didzels12 Actually you moron, there is 540p, 768p, 640p and a lot of other resolutions a stupid n00b like you wouldn't know about. Why don't you research a little instead of getting all of your info from Nintendo Power.

  • @BudzMcgr33n didn't you over react a little?

  • @drywolf1 I'm just sick of idiots who think they know everything Lol.

  • @BudzMcgr33n looks to me like he made a mistake. doesn't mean he's all egotistic about it. :/

  • @didzels12 Actually you're wrong there exists such thing as 580p, 680p, just no one want's to support that random resolution, they have a certain method, and the highest resolution is 2560 x 1600, on a single monitor.

  • @didzels12 dick...no need to troll.

  • @d3tach3d STFU idiot.

  • @didzels12 ensity is right, the resolution of all the games in OnLive are 576p. So.. don't try to be too smart yourself

  • @enisity every article on them says how they are going to switch to 1080p sometime in 2011. As more date centers get closer and closer to homes the quality will increase.

  • This onlive stuff looks really impressive. If every PC game library is available for onlive, this microconsole would definitely outsell console and PC platforms and I would definitely get it because of price, simplicity, and availability. I can definitely see that happening since everything is digital nowadays and games are being downloaded in Xbox live marketplace and the PSN game downloads for PS1 and others. I can definitely see Onlive being a big competitor in the future.

  • nice vid.BTW im getting onlive for X-MAS

  • @enisity what internet speed do you have? plz answer cause my internet is slow .

  • i have a xbox 360 slim an a ps3 in my room with my hdtv would this be worth puttin right next to them or should i just keep what i got ?

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix i would say keep what you have because the onlive has the games that come on the normal platforms first while onlive gets them later then the xbox or ps3. the onlive also has some pc games too

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix It would be worth it, if you connection is of decent quality (constant 5Mbps). The MicroConsole only uses 6W under full load and is very small in comparison to the Xbox 360 or PS3.

The OnLive Game System is great stuff.

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix meh keep what you have. I love onlive but i fyou feel you need games faster and instantly, and you have the connection for it then get onlive but if not i would pass for now.

  • does the onlive console work with wireless internet at home? everything ive seen is wired with the ether port

  • @mc240sr It doesnt have built in Wi-Fi but you can hook it up to a wireless laptop and create a "bridge". So in a sense, it can be hooked up wirelessly.

  • I have just tried playing Onlive and found:

    - onlive gamers can only play with onlive gamers

    - no lag but quality is like a 240p youtube video

    - it's pretty cool i can play games on my 1ghz netbook :D

  • @lawpetex Quality is much better then that for me. But video quality is something that will only improve as time goes on.

  • @lawpetex It depends i get about 720p on my connection. Connection 20Mbs down/up

  • @enisity what quality would i get on a 3mbps down? 6mbps down?

  • @lawpetex u have onlive right? is crysis on there yet?

  • @sgtmemo106 u can go to onlive web site and go to the games section and ull see whats in there but crysis is not i think

  • @lawpetex It depends on what internet connection you have...wireless goes slower so you can play with 720p too but you need better internet connection!

  • This is quite revolutionary I've got a Gaming rig around 1k and a netbook playing dirt 2 on a netbook is all the satisfaction anyone needs i use it on the train to uni i bring my ps3 controller :)

  • So is this actually real?

  • @MistaHughes83 yeah it's real...google it

  • Sorry guys, as enisity said, they are, in fact, not completely releasing it yet. It's a pretty new thing. But you can download the client if you work there. W00T

  • I'm playing Onlive games on a 2yr old $199 HP netbook, 1.6ghz, 1gb ram on 3mb

wi-fi!!! Not as good as Xbox 360 or PS3, but better than Wii. Kick Ass!!..!!

  • wow seems great... but it will be suck when you accidentaly 'see' some top game ending before you even play it... :/

  • gotta use onlive cuz macs can run anything

  • how do u buy onlive ive been to everywhere on the websit how do you get it plz tell me

  • @MrToxicNeko I believe they are still releasing to the public little by little. You have to sign up on the waiting list at the moment just go to Onlives website and there should be a button at the button for signup

  • @MrToxicNeko

    onlive is free now!!!

just download their free plug-in and launch...

    it even works on wi-fi!!

  • @plslc1 seriously and i went through that waiting list n stuff!!! omgosh!! lol

  • Very nice idea, just transfer images through internet. Very Nice! I'll buy an computer with Pentium II CPU for this! haha!

  • @deegii0904 That's the idea. If this really takes off, cloud computing will take over the gaming industry, and there won't be a need for consumer super computers anymore. (For the most part, I'm speaking generically... and this would take a long time)

  • would this work on a pentium 4 3.0 ghz? LOL

    with intel 64 mb graphics?

    and 512 ram?

  • @johnykonta57 yes

  • @johnykonta57 it would run even on netbook even on iphone

however i live in europe and i have little hope for this to come true

  • @johnykonta57 it all depends on your iternet connection and not your computer itself.

  • I'm using 7.0 mega connection I notice little lag. Like 1/10 of a second. But it gets worse if somebody is talking on phone at same time. And my internet is unstable ,but nobody else to get in my area. But onlive runs great for me.

  • All I know is the server is in Washington dc. And you got to be within 1000 miles. I'm 833 runs great. I don't know if they have anymore servers up yet. I just found that out by somebody else so Im not sure if it is true.

  • is it avalaible in Canada?

  • @h5vhh No

  • @enisity I have a problem. Im trying to get the app installed. Unforunently it keeps saying "cannot connect to ONLIVE servers reconnect to the internet" while i know for a fact im connected. What can be the problem?

  • Is it normal for onlive to lag on a cable connection like I have? I have onlive (My name is: Todays News) and I notice some lag but not much but im just wondering if you notice some lag also while playing.

  • onlive is gona destroy consoles .. not so much PCs because of pc games being able to be played on far superior resolutions and the fact that the PC market was just surviving on high end PC owners for the most part.

  • is this available only in USA?

  • @RPGWAGamers At this moment yes, but they are expanding to europe and the UK last next year.. i believe....

  • @enisity last next year? that makes no sense,but thx.:D.soo,in this case,im from romania,and i just u know,registered,so they let me download OnLive to,it won't work,won't it?

  • @enisity what about asia

  • @turtlehead12699 No support for Asia, but UK and europe are coming soon

  • @enisity wait, so even if i pre-order it from the us and send it over to asia, it wont work?

  • @turtlehead12699 It will not work, you must be near one of the main servers, or your latency will be ridiculous and they will probably be able to tell if you are in asia so they won't let you play.

  • @enisity okay thanks

  • what kind of internet connection do you have

  • do you need like a super pc to play onlive example single core processor+onlive=?

  • @Calvinator321123 The only thing you need is a decent connection... there really is no requirement for your pc... it streams to you thats about it..

  • How the hell do you get this? I guess they don't want my money.

  • Do you have to be in the US? DOes this work in Canada? Also did you take the free 1 year AT and T offer?

  • @DMG6 US only currently. I'm sure they will move out to Canada and Europe within a year or two if things go well.

  • @DMG6 At this point in time it is only available in the USA but they are setting up other server hubs in the UK and parts of europe...

  • I haven't gotten a confirmation but in about a week, add me. My ID is A Two Year Old

  • Its hard to hear you. How well does it work.

  • @roadkill1210 Thus far... flawlessly i can not even tell its streaming to me...

  • @enisity Good. Keep em comin. I wanna see more.

  • Thanks for the upload. LUCKY I haven't got activated yet :(
