  • STOP RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! NO JOKE!!!! DO NOT USE SAND OF ANY SORT!!!!!!!!! IF THEY EAT THE SAND OR ANY TYPE OF SAND THEY CAN PASS AWAY EASILY BECUASE THEY CAN NOT DIGEST IT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! USE REPTILE CARPET OR PAPER TOWEL THAT IS IT!!!!!!!

  • @seljoeays1

    Duely noted

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HES SO CUTE

  • put a heat lamp and/or heat pad.

  • you should never use sand use the kitty litter called old news

  • dnt hold a gecko like dat..... neverrrrrr

  • i don´t think that like if he his a strater so ok. i think that he should read everything here to hell to know how to take care theguy like i love this animals and snakes and stuff but i dont want anyone to die beacause of me.

  • well ur doing great for a new timer but i tink ur gunna need a better cage

  • well for starters get it a better place to live!

  • I have one that looks just like that! she's a funny lil thing, loves sitting on our hands, and will even come-when-called!!

  • What music is that? Someone knowes?

  • dont use sand as substrate, they will eat it and it will cause impaction. i kno that u dont have this lil guy anymore but when u DO get another one u should use repticarpet

  • DONT USE CALCIUM SAND!!!! its sooo bad and only imbisiles recommend it. use repti carpet. if they ingest to much sand they become impacted and thats HORRIBEL!

  • i breed them they dont need uv but need heat no sand and give it a calciam boul no d3 it will kill it

  • hey, my female leo has almost stopped eating completly, she is super skinny. she still drinks water though, someone told me that there is something you can put in their water that fights off mites, bc thats what tthey think it is. you wouldn't by chance know what thats called or what i could do do you?

  • well when you first get them u arent supposed to get them sand! but i have two and you need to wait until they are the same size or else they will get territorial! these are the perfect pets! they are a joy! and the youngest lifespan is 32 years!!!!! wonderful!

  • no sand mang

  • have calcium

  • i just got one to lol. mines a baby though, i use repti carpet instead of like vita sand or calci sand. idk just me so then impaction is impossible lol. you dont gotta feed mealworms from a dish. its all personal prefrence.

  • OMMMMGG.....ur pinching him. lol. i have a leopard gecko. dont hold him by the stomach like that ur freaking him out. he likes for his belly to be warm so gentelly put ur index and thumb infront of his neck so he feels as if he cant move. Next slip all four fingers under his belly so his tummy is on ur palm. he will stay still and be calm. but lol. that was funny. i saw him squriming because of the way u were holding him.

  • sorry he was my first and I did not know any better.

I will be sure to take your advice if I ever get another.

I sold this lil guy at an expo

  • @mack1time DO NOT USE VITASAND OR CALCISAND BEAUSE THEY WIL SMELL THE VITAMIINS EATING IT WHICH WILL MAKE THEM TO ALSO EAT THE SAND WICH WILL CLOG UP THERE STOMACH MAKEING THEM UNABLE TO PASS FOOD WICH WILL MAKE THEM DIE

  • they need light and that habitat is to small thay need 10 gallons per leppard gecko and they can die whith that subsrate they can get compaction if ingested

    stick with snakes

  • lol

thanks for all the tips, but just like with my snakes you learn from experience, remember we were all beginners at some point.

You stick to cussing people on you tube k?

  • @mack1time lol dont listen to him...the tube is fine...a 9 quarttub can hold a baby leopard gecko

  • they need heat not light, and yes sand is controversial but this stuff was made for leos and includes calcium incase it is accidently ingested, also the enclosure was temporary while I got temps and things figured in the permanent tank.

  • @mack1time calcium sand is the worse...never ever use calcium sand, even if they say its ok to injest, cacli sand is worse than reg sand...just tryin to let u no not bein an ass

  • lol impacted for 1... feed mealworms in dish.. leos wont eat the sand for taste.. and that tub is good for it.. i own leopard geckos in terariums but plan on a rack system soon for the rest of hachlings

  • how old was it then?

  • sand is not bad for them but it is not recommended cause it can cause impaction in there stomachs and so they cant digust it and then well they die..not a happy face =((

  • use paper towels or repti carpet sand is bad

  • just use paper towels sand is not goood for them

  • can someone help me determine the morphs of my leos?

i have two videos of them in my channel

  • th problem you have w/ the enclousure is it sucks.

  • funny is this video is old and there have been many changes since, including a new enclosure and the fact I sold them both

  • NO SAND!!! if u dont like paper towel use rep. carpet, its cheap and if u dont want to clean it just buy more

  • dont u sand it causes compacsion us paper towels

  • impaction*

  • Mine had an attitude. It died.

  • if i cant use sand what can i use? (i dont want paper towels or newspaper btw)

  • you could use reptile carpet its a good choice and veryh easy to clean

  • not easy to clean at all.

  • it is i you use a waterhose just a tip thats what i clean it with

  • yeah same, but i just get water everywhere & the moss doesnt come off very easily

  • Use rpetile carpet

  • it is ok to put sand in the leopard gecko's habitat as long as it is fine and not grity which is more likely to cause impaction.

  • Wheres your hat mat..

  • i herd u shudnt use sand. i use paper towel :)

  • yup. its said that it can choke them

  • aw man i luv that morph! Thats an awsome leo.

  • My gecko looks exactally like yours!sweet! yeah mine is a blizzard leo and she is so tame!her name is Sasha!

  • i would get a deli cup with a lid cut a hole in it like a hid and put a warm wet paper towl in it and it will help them shed its kinda like a little steam room for them

  • ive been keeping leopord geckos for 11 years so i know that cardboard is not safe so i can mail u a wooden hid if u like

  • nice leo, but try daily handling him more, and more carefully. he wont hiss anymore. :)

  • So cute. But never use sand (exept playsand)! The sand will impact them and they will die!

  • can u use play sand with leos

  • no try not to use sand at all

  • he's so cute! i want one! but my dog chases the wild ones that climb on the windows so i dnt think if i got one it would stand a chance!

  • looks like you have everything you need, the only things that I can think of that you don't seem to have are #1. a heat source, either a reptile heating pad, or a heat lamp. and #2 holes in your container to let air in, but other than that you seem to be ding everything right.

  • Check my update video, I bought him a sweet enclosure and a mate

  • hey man that was cool, your gecko really is chill.

please tell me what beat you used in the background, its hot.

  • If u have calcium and vitamins on ur crickets they wont eat the sand ;)

  • dont squeeze while holding them, drop them, or breath on them and finally dont move the food around on the sand when u feeding them meal or wax worms bcuz theyll try to attack and eat sand instead

  • thanks they are now off sand

  • 1 thing is dont shine light at a gecko for more than 10 sec bcuz there not used to light therye nocturnal shine a light on them if ur looking for them, 2 dont bu another male like u said and a lot of femals isnt a good idea either females may fight for him and 3 that sandwich bag home get somthing stable and the entrance if u cutted it sloppy bad idea if its sharp like i htink it is it could cut the geckos skin and like daryleb said dont hold them uncomfortably

  • thanks they are now off snad check the update video

  • you shuoldnt hold it that tight and how would you like living in those tubs

  • that was temporary , check the update video

  • yea and get that sand away from him and realy nice blazin blizard!

  • the sand is gone , thanks for your concern, check out the update video

  • kool u have a Albino Leopard Gecko, I have one too. U may want to caution on the sand tho. It may cause Infraction, and that's bad. But it dont happen to all geckos with sand, so theres a risk. If you find that your gecko has a hard stomach, try feeding it Mineral Oil, in the mouth, or up the bum

  • take the sand out it can kill him even tho they say its good for them its not.

  • dude how can the sand kill them i got 2 in my house that have sand and thye have no problems they love it explain to me why

  • It can and will kill them. The gecko's naturally eat the sand for vitamins (which they can't digest), the sand builds up inside of them and than kills them. Take your gecko's off the sand unless you want them dead.

  • shes a female

  • Poor baby!

Dont buy anymore because you already dont have the right living conditions!!!

i breed leos so im not wrong...

  • watch the update video

    they now have better caging

  • the only other thing i can think of that people havnt said is to get a day glow bulb for your gecko, the light sores you have isnt getting to the little guy. also day glow bulbs help with the clacium, ill say this more pelitly dont pick him up like you do try scooping him. ive got 4 leopard geckos now 1 pastel 1 jungle both female and a male hypo and a baby blizzard sex unown. XD

  • 1. dont hold him by the side it stresses them

    2. take him off the sand

    3. it is a really cool morph it is a blazing blizard

    4. you need a clacium dish

  • your blizzard is real tame they can have an attitude but be care full picking it up if it makes a noise is uncomfortable also be careful with its tail as it can fall off very easily. and the colourchange is basicly a sign of temperature white means it is to cold they are a great animal to have good luck with it

  • Dude, you were squizzing his stomach!!!! Try to scoop him up better.

  • These geckos come from Pakistan - a very sandy region. They subsist fine there without humans excavating all the sand and replacing it with reptile carpet. =/ I keep desert lizards on sand without any trouble at all, but I would suggest taking the baby off sand until it is bigger, simply because it doesn't take much to impact it at this age. After it's grown a bit, however, sand should be fine.

If you are still worried, clay tiles are a good, natural substitute, and aesthetically pleasing.

  • thanks for the educated responce!

  • my baby leopard gecko alway hide rock cave from reptile supplies but I never use box or kitchen dish for reptiles

  • You're a dick, fucking don't grab him by the stomach, obviously he doesn't like it if he's squirming around like crazy.

  • u need a calcium dish

  • i got 2 leopard gecko

  • im getting a gecko but what about like good rocks like with no dirt would that do anything to them like bad?

  • blizard ?

  • That noise they make means they don't like what you are doing so don't do that.

  • Sand is not okay for young geckos, especially not calcisand. Too much calcium is just as bad, if not worse than no calcium. Pet stores will recomend hot rocks because they want your money, but they can and will burn your pet. I use newspaper for my adult breeders and paper towels for the juvies, and I used Flex Watt heat strips on a dimmer under the tanks for heat. The lack of spots is because it's a patternless. Leos come in a variety of colors and patterns.

  • sands fine bro as long as its calci sand like ur using...impaction is a much less factor with the sand ur usin....u shuld have a water dish thats more shallow tho...wut do u have in the background?? in all those tanks

  • yea i was wondering if they changed colors cause i seen one at the pet store and it had spots on its head and then he was under a rock, it wasnt spotted then his tail was sticking out and it was spotted.

  • no sand

  • that burns reptiles

  • no it does not 2 pet shops recamended that 4 me

  • It has never hurt any of the reptiles, I have ever delt with.

  • whatever take your own risks

  • Heat rocks are one of the most dangrous things you could buy for a reptile. At my reptile care/rescue/rehoming facility, we have had around 50 lizards(mostly leopard geckos) come in burnt, and only 4 survived. They easily over heat and reptiles wont notice because it isnt an instant change, but it is a slow increase in heat and it isnt recognizable

  • thre is a fucking egg in there

  • just a rock

  • I know you probably heard some of this before, I actually looked at the before comments.(Oh what do ya know? A smart person eh?)You switched to paper towels, they are easy to clean. That's what I have my leopard gecko on. you need a calcium dish, the need that otherwise they can get sponge bone, and you also need a vitamin supplement(should include D3)dusted on the cricket every few days. He should have a bigger tub or tank then I see here, they love space.

  • I added a calcium dish and made the switch to paper towel

A bigger tank upgrade is soon to come

Do I need a additional powder besides the calcium and d3 that I have combined in one jar?

  • If its calcium and d3 in the same, then that's fine. Just that it has both.

  • as long as you have those two you should be okay...make sure you dust your food with calcium WITH D3!, and put pure calcium in the tank, because to much D3 is bad, but they do need some.

Smart choice switching to paper towel and adding the calcium, if you have anymore questions just click on my name and post it on my account =D,

Best of Luck with your new friend!

  • no thats perfect bro and nice gecko

  • Wow he's awesome! I want a gecko but a crested.

  • Hey man

I HAVE MISSED YOU #1 Subscriber

  • thanx. I'll hav a vid on soon! I'm going to get some footage of my ball python. i hope you'll like it!

    ~bettalover97~

  • cool man

  • ahahahahahaha my blue garter snake eats about 6 geckos about exactly that size i catch like 12-25 a day they come out at about 9-10 pm every night

  • Dude, for the sake of the gecko, please put him on paper towels. Why even chance using the sand? With that kind of sand, they sense the vitamins in it and eat it. This is not good no matter what anybody says. Sand is course, even the stuff that feels smooth to us. It hurts them internally no matter what. Also, I dont know if you already have it in there, but you'll need a cap of pure calcium. Good luck with ur little guy! They're great!

  • Thanks

I have since chandged and added a calcium dish

    Thanks for the advice tho

  • OK that's cool. Just wanted to give u a heads up.

  • did u ever buy another leo

  • ya new vid coming asap

  • ur keeping him great thts how i take care of at my work, also u went 2 the missigua expo??

  • i see

no I bought him at a canadian expo!

  • cutie

  • Leos don't need any special light requirements that is one of the reason they make such good pets.

I Leopard gecko does need extra heat and that can be accomplished with a heatpad and some people use bulbs.

  • Looks pretty good. Alot of people say sand is bad no matter what kind, I used reptile carpet just to avoid the risk of impaction but it usually isnt that big of a deal with the older geckos. Only think I would suggest is a moist hide on the cool side to aid his shed.

  • leopard geckos do not need UVA and UVB Dummy

  • Yea Dummy What he said LOL

  • retarded people

  • lucky. my geckos are both assholes to me. sometimes they switch in being nice but usually they just run into their hide when i try and handle them.

  • If you get another one get an ablino, when crossed they make a really cool morph

  • just bought an abbarant high yellow!

    shes cool

  • R you gonna make a vid of her?

  • calci-sand deffinatly isn't ingestable, but seems your doing most stuff right. more hides though and larger viv or tub

  • ya dude just loose the sand cause they COULD get impacted and cause you'll just have alot of people bitchin about the sand issue if u kno wat i mean. Oh and who did u buy it from at the expo just curious?

  • i keep 3 leos on sand for 3 years and no problems

  • Looks awesome.

  • leoapard geckos cant digest and sand no matter what. get kitchen roll or paper towels and have calcium dish-wet hid or have to mist when shedding-and you shouldnt have 1 male and 1 female. 1 fem will get stressed so its better 2 have 2-7.

  • thats funny you should mention it.

I just bought a companion today who you will all see soon!

  • i was gunna get a gecko but i wasn't sure i didn't want to get one a not give it good home because i didn't have the right enviroment

    are they quite complecating

also i have a turantula a chile rose there preety cool do u have any?

  • yeah. get some paper towels and like a wet hide. oh and feed on wax and meal worms. they are the best.

  • aww what a cutie :D Congrats

  • oh my bad didnt read ur post sorry i went off...put calcium without d3 in a dish and put calcium with d3 in it on ur crix every other meal but yea i meant what i said about the hides aswell

  • lol

  • like he is so he can have health issues down the road...(listen to petstores or listen to leopard gecko breeders etc. all over the internet..)

  • i told u already but u didnt listen...u need paper towels asap a dry hide on cool side and a dry hide on the hot side and a moist hide on the warm end a heat pad on a thermostat a milk cap full of calcium...he makes that noise because its not confortable and probaly hurts him...but like i said i told u already and u will probaly just ignore this and leave him

  • my snake room is 85 degrees

  • bad ass dude, he's cooo

  • I almost purchased a Blizard gecko at Petco.. They look freakin awesome.

  • sweet man great gecko

  • nice leo but i would change the substrate

  • Nice Gecko.

  • Nice setup and leo! I would recommend a couple of things tho. I would switch from sand to paper towels, or newspaper(some adult leos can digest sand, some cant. I wouldn't take the chance tho) I would put 1 hide on the cool side and 1 on the warm. You should also put a dish of calcium in there too. There probably isn't room in a tub, but you should have a moist hide in there at all times. Maybe when you see him starting to shed, switch the warm hide with a moist one. C ya! :D

  • thanks

    All are Great tips!!!!

Thanks I will heed your advice and put him on shop towels which are cheaper anyways.

Also should I put a calcium dish instead of dusting the meals?

  • No prob! Along with keeping a calcium dish in the habitat, you should dust his meals every other day.

  • It's kinda funny. Sometimes when I tell people that putting their leos on sand is risky buiseness and it's more expenseve, they say "Oh, I know that it's dangerous(escpesially for babies) I just have always wanted sand, and I don't care if my leo dies in the process" You are actually normal(lol) your leo might have a strong enough digestive system to be able to be on sand, but you care about him and you know that it's common sense to buy something that is cheap, easier, and safer.

  • put a calcium dish in tank then dust food every second feeding with multivitamin. thats what i do and my 11(some breeders are healthy and happy)

  • awesome

  • Awesome new leo, he looks great !

  • Thats a nice leo!

  • hey man nice leo. i recomend u use papper towel no loos substrigh
