watching your video from Wales UK - would love to be there looks fantastic especially the weather (freezing cold with us at the moment - snow on the ground)

we did have a uncle and aunt (from Scotland UK) emigrated to frisco then moved to santa cruz way back - (lived Pacheco avenue) - sadly passed away now - they gave us a oil painting of the bay during a uk visit many years ago -

My mom lives down there. It's so beautiful down there. What kind of camera did you get the still photos on? Those came out really great.

Thank you very much and I am glad I could help you visit. All the photos were taken with a Sony DSC P200 little pocket camera. I am a very amateur photographer, who happened to be very lucky!

I used to live at Pleasure Point...sure miss it!

So glad you are moving back. Things have changed a little, the fish hook has been re-worked so the traffic backs up on 1 just before Capitola. The Dream Inn changed names, but recently changed back. East Cliff is one way only know as they try real hard to save what is left. O'Neill's house is still hanging on the cliff near Pleasure Point (that is where I lived). All I can say is "Welcome Home"

Wow!! It's still as beautiful as I remember. I went there in April 2009 all the way from Ireland, and this was like nothing I'd ever seen before!! People in America should be so glad they live there!

I am writing from Pennsylvania. And, I decied to look up footage of Santa Cruz, CA because of the vintage skateboard company 'Santa Cruz'.

back in the 80's when I was in Jr High that company was popular here. But, anyway I was in a scholastic nostaligic mood ,and I decided to finally see what the city looked like.

Your footage was the most convenient to access. And, I must say the city looks great. Your video represented your city well.

It appears like I imagined it to be.

It seems nice but I did some research and it seems to be a very liberal and overwhelmingly Democratic county unfortunately...Tell me, does this county have a large illegal immigrant population?

The city of Santa Cruz is very liberal, however the rest of the county is a mix of democrats and republicans. There is a large immigrant population in the county but I don't know their legal status. Santa Cruz has a wonderful vibe with its mix of college students, surfers, and aging hippies. Throw in the beach, the Boardwalk, and the excellent weather and it pretty much a perfect place.
