  • I highly doubt these band members believe what they sing.

  • @eaglevillage3 then y would they make a christmas cd

  • @onlyeyesabove Well, look at Elvis. He made many versions of some of the most well-known Christmas carols to the christian population at the time. Yet the man was never a christian. The media's filled with "artists" that make versions of these songs, but they don't make them to worship Jesus. Instead, they do it to make more money. Now, I don't know for sure if this group is even partly christian, so if I'm wrong I will stand corrected. Until then, I still highly doubt they believe the words.

  • 4 people missed the like button.

  • Slacktoo that's because they're devinely inspifer sir. That is all

  • Oh man... this song gives me chills every time. I love the lyrics. You can tell that it was not originally written in English, based on the cadence of the song. Great version by Weezer.

  • very cool song =)

  • Just heard this on "Raising Hope", excellent.

  • Look, i=i've always loved Weezer. I've always loved christmas/christmas music. Now they're covering songs for the holidays. BEAST! Also, Jesus DID exist and he taught us that our love of our peers, family, and love of God would get us to heaven. He also taught us to respect all human life and to perform good deeds. People should tink before they comment...

  • Great video...............

  • Nvm, its for the whole album.

  • This song represents why I don't understand why people hate Jesus. All He said was to love everyone and be a good person. Whether you want to follow Christianity or not, I don't think doing what He said would have us in the situation we currently are in.

  • @joshie4330 i don't hate the dude, i just don't believe he ever actually existed. well, maybe he did, but when a kid is born to a cheating wife in a barn i guess you gotta glorify it or accept it for the white trash activity that it is. either way, i love this song, and this version is awesome. to each his own.

  • Hey I love Weezer, and that's just one reason why. Other Christmas Rock songs to check out are "All I want for Christmas is you" by My Chemical Romance "Christmas Baby Please Come Home" by Anberlin "Little Drummy Boy" by the Almost. I'm legit posting only awesome Christmas songs on my facebook everyday til Christmas.

  • ROFLMAO.. that pic of them in the santa suits crack me up.. especially Rivers. OMG

  • @Slacktoo Im a Christian and it makes me happy that not all atheists are jerks about Christianity. Cheers to you. :)

  • @MrRobthebob42

You're just living in the wrong country then, here in Sweden we respect the Christian views of the world.. Or any religion for that matter.

  • that response from that band Woodmen Hall is pretty good! It's a lot heavier.

  • What a "sweet hymn of joy" -- I'm glad that Weezer "raised" it!

And what a powerful second verse: "Truely he taught us to love one another, his law is love and his gospel is peace; chains shall he break for the slave is our brother, and in his name all oppression shall cease!" Now *that* is what we all need to work for this Christmas and year round--whether we're Christian or not. This world needs peace and social justice.

  • AMEN!!!

  • @GradStud28 Social Justice thought is Liberalism in the cloak of Christianity. Jesus taught individual justice.

  • "And a more proclaim."

    Teehee!

  • Grammar-wise, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. It's "evermore proclaim" anyway...

  • @bluesharp78 "Forever proclaim". Granted, not a lot of people would say 'evermore proclaim' now, but I wouldn't question it's grammatical integrity. Language changes with time. Just look at Olde English!

  • I love it when bands turn christmas songs more rocklike and such. Like August Burns Red-Carol of the Bells, and the Weezer Chrismas songs

  • I actually like how they played most of the songs as written, and didn't "spice" them up too much. They sound wonderfully traditional, but still identifiably Weezer.

  • I'm an atheist and I love Christmas songs, especially the religious ones, they're much more beautiful

  • @Slacktoo: Thats Weird.. I'm an atheist and I love religious Christmas songs too.. What's that all about...

  • @Slacktoo Thats cause they have a meaning.

  • @Slacktoo That doesn't make sense?

  • @VoLt189 Um... Slacktoo has possibly made the most sensible and understanding youtube comment i've ever seen

  • @Ryanillusionist What part of it makes sense?

  • @Slacktoo I'm really not trying to mean but I wonder do you kinda laugh at the irony in that? I am so sorry if I offended you in any way

  • @Slacktoo Same story. So beautiful compositions.

  • I see what you're saying.. I don't know... maybe they just let the song speak for itself. It's pretty powerful in it's own right.

Hehe.. more to my point, it's definitely Weezer doing an amazing song. Nuff said. :)

  • Correct lyrics @ 2:46 are "his power and glory ever more proclaim"

  • I adore !

  • Praise His Holy Name.

  • Anyone notice how the guitar in the quiet parts sound like the guitar from "Everybody Hurts" by REM??

  • Christ is the Lord

  • right on

  • great great great!!!

  • Loved it. Thanks for the post.

  • amazing!

  • It's "His power and glory ever more proclaim," not "his pow a more proclaim."

  • this is super good rockish kinda cover for a christmas song

  • soo good!

  • The best one...this is just a good song...

  • yep, definitely the best of the 6. they need to re-release Winter Weezerland on iTunes. then I'll have all 8 Christmas songs they've done.
