As for striking down other captains, Aizen has already riched the limited of a Shinigami in Swordsmanship, flash step, Kido, and hand to hand, its so surprise he could pwn Toshiro who is still young.

King Yamamoto on the other hand has the strongest fire type Zanpakutou. That means when Toushiro matures, he will be head captain. Just like Soi-Fon took Yorouchi's place for being the second fastest shinigami. That is awsome! Thanks for pointing that out.
