This has to do with how the light reflects on the paper and the room and it has to always be a color msde out of the previous color.Cool.

@Graynh ever heard of different colored wood? They have dark AND light steaks plus the real answer id the outlines they get lighter as you go down..

all the grey diamonds go from dark grey at the top to light grey at the bottom. the white at the top is the biggest contrast so the top diamonds look darker. any one get what im sayin?

its the middle  grey.

Near the end where its off the pattern ,cover up the patterened bit and see for yourself.It just tricks the eye.
