  • hes the ray charles on the guitar

    R.I.P healey

    :(

  • Godspeed Jeff.

  • Jeff did an incredible job with this solo, but i personally think he needed to try and copy Slowhand's original solo. What made him all the more interesting was the fact that he was blind. One thing I don't understand is why Rolling Stone snubbed him, and a few other great guitarists, from their list. I think that the world lost a great guitarist when Jeff lost his battle with cancer. RIP Jeff!

  • Oh my god, who the hell is the other guitarist? It seems to be Van Halen's ghost... :-|

  • What a beautiful soulful voice Jeff had (not to mention his amazing talents on the guitar) and as you mention above he was a modest and gentlemanly person....many other 'guitars heroes' would be well advised to follow his example because as Joe Pass said:"There's plenty of room at the top"...perhaps he should have added: "As long as one doesn't have an out of control ego and fragile sense of identity" no names mentioned :)

  • philip sayce does the solo i guess...

  • @fluim0102

There are two guitar solos. Phil Sayce solos from 1:38 to 2:40. Jeff Healey credits him with the solo, and plays his own solo beginning at 3:36.

    scottcl

  • audience seems deaf..

  • The director of this video should be banned from the industry. Awesome performance though.

  • Wow wow wow. George would be proud.

  • Had the chance too see mr. jeff healey but never can't turn time back ,but ill always lesson to him and watch his video's he was super guitar player and singer . he's playing with the angels in heaven today love you jeff

  • yeah!!!! phil sayce......

  • this is sad loss of a genius.

  • who played that solo? it was fucking brilliant

  • @therunningtap that's Phillip Sayce

  • he is the best of all time!

  • 1:47 I'm pretty sure the producer has no idea who is actually soloing here

  • who can´t say its the best version ever heard

  • How can you dislike this? Surely even a "purist " Beatles fan would have t give props for this man's skill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg .. i didn't realise he was blind until i read his wikipedia article!!

  • Does anyone know who the other guitarist is in this video?

  • wow i saw him at the u of s at louis pub on campus.. was an outsider .. but was so close to him when he was played ,, i got sprayed by his sweat .. holy water i guess ... super person .. we need more like him on this earth .. be well

  • ZSENIÁLIS!!!

  • WANNA HEAR YOU PLAY THIS WHEN I MEET YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.....RIP.. FOR AWHILE....THEN WE'LL BE JAMMIN' 4 SURE ;]

  • just to f'n cool. why god still keeps takin the best. i wont list em but it grows everyday and most are under 40, thanks to the higher power

  • Wow what a shit crowd if you were there you SUCK

  • @godlyelf ...the thing is; Monteux is sort of a Jazz Festival for Jazz and Blues, that kinda thing. They never knew what hit them when Jeff entered the stage. LOL

  • nothin wrong with him playing a squier i have a peavey raptor that i enjoy the same amount as my 92 fender strat..just the way shit works

  • @masterj131 I hear you I have owned a lot of top tier Guitars but I have a $150.00 Peavey Predator that will put most $1000 + Fenders and Gibbys to shame. It is still my favorite almost 20 years running. Cats that fixate on the quality of the Guitar and miss the guy behind it are missing it.

  • Jeff took this song and made it his own.

    Rest in Peace my friend.

  • Big respect.

  • ...jeff, my guitar gently weeps for you...

  • This guy had unreal talent.

  • I can't even come close to playing that soulfully "right"-side up. Smokin' performance.

  • Jeff played a Squier, haters gonna hate.

  • @GuitarDude531 I have a Fender and a Squire strat and they're both good, Jeff rocks on any guitar that's playable anyway

  • @GuitarDude531 squire you mean? i had a strat, was my fave guitar, cheap knockoff of a fender but theyre still sweet

  • this was a genius, sadly missed by me, murmur., jeff could make the guitar sing, he was a one off., bye for now.

  • god he is awesome I say he was another hendrix in a way Jeff was a cool guitar player and I want to say rest in peace brother the world with long all the other legends make music he was one in billion who could do what he did

  • My friends, we are in the presence of majesty. RIP, Mr. Healey.

  • Forgot to say this and it makes me so sad but I still can't believe he's gone from this world!!! For anybody who hasn't seen it yet, type in "Jerry Lee Lewis and Jeff Healy" It'll probably blow your mind. God bless him and I thank God Jerry is still with us I must say. Cest la vie!? Life is surely bitter-sweet for us all. God bless Jeff and the Healey band forever.

  • Hey! Well said 'wolfcatsden'!!! Anything is possible with great music too. Long live another musical genius legend who died too young!!! I mean....listen to that solo! You'd have to be deaf and blind not to hear and see brilliance personified in Jeff. A fellow Canadian too! God bless him.

  • we should call him jeff HELLey !

  • This show you what ever handy cap life may bring you, anything is possible if you truly want it. he was an amazing preformer

  • This gives me the chills. I just want a big screen of this at some huge event with the caption "DO THIS LADY GAGA" or whatever else piece of shit "artist" is there.

  • This gave me the chills...F$%KING unreal what this guy could do!!!

  • Un immense talent, disparu bien trop tôt, comme beaucoup...

  • Who's that other guitarist? He is amazing!

  • You can here ,he means it ,,,,,, R.I.P

  • I've loved Jeff's playing for years, this is the first time i've heard this version and wow it's just FAB. What a loss to the world this fella is.

  • Best version of this song ever. RIP Jeff

  • So deeply lost for the music, one of the speaking guitars ever played, which had the geniuos of playing the jazz trompet in his last age with the same feeling. Jeff, you made a lot us see the light. Thank your, wherever you are...

  • Damn!

That other guitarist can also play!

Fuck, I didn't start to listen to Jeff since like this week. Why didn't I start to listen to him earlier?

  • A Great Canadian Legend, Gone way to soon....RIP Jeff

  • legend

  • la meilleure reprise de ce titre , jeff the best for ever !!!

  • Philip Sayce, another sick player, lets go at 1:38, but at 3:20 Jeff shows us why he's the legend.

  • The emotion and passion that Jeff evokes from within makes the hairs stand on end. This is truly awe inspiring and the world is not the same since his sad passing .

  • Awesome!

  • SUPER!!!

  • Ive listened to several versions of this song, but this one is the most soulful .They`re all good in there own way, which is a testament to how great this song really is.

  • I saw Jeff play in about 88. He was brilliant.

  • how could anyone even mention a fuck like Kanye West on a post of this song? Who cares about Kanye?

  • i from SERBIA lik je neverovatan 111

  • god them goodddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddxxxluv u jeeff i miss ya lot

Jeff was such a great musician and he was such a beautiful soul... it is obvious in every sound he made... RIP

  • @sneyka05 You're unable to dislike this when you've got taste in music!!

  • @Thommislav Too true....How could they????WTF??????

  • @sneyka05 People who don't know what Great Music is... (new era kids I suppose)

RIP Jeff Healey my hometown hero!!

  • A beautiful song,what a guitarist,truly missed.

  • @R3DH0X Ooh look I got another like!!!!!!!!!! Put your keyboard down warrior.;-)

  • absolutely awesome rest in peace jeff!

  • @R3DH0X I think you meant to call me an eugenicist and if my thoughts could eradicate egotistical rappers from coming into being. Then I;m guilty as charged!!!.

  • Hope my hearing stays good when I die, so I can hear you playing from all the way up there in Heaven, Jeff.

Sure'll make me feel better while getting stabbed with pitchforks and drowned in lava.

  • Who the F*** would dislike this?

  • love you, Jeff!

thank you for the music, brother.

  • So glad I got to see Jeff. That was guy was something special!

  • Ladies and gentlemen.....Wade Garrett. no just kidding, he's from RoadHouse. The other guitarist is Pat Rush.

  • No its too young to be Pat. it must be Canadian Phil Sayce

  • THIS MAN IS A LEGEND! R.I.P. Jeff

  • Respect from Brazil!

    R.I.P.

  • Jeff RIP. From Russia with love.

  • R.I.P. Jeff!! You left the "bluestrain" far to early! You played in a very smal Danish town, 2 months before you went up into the Great Bluesheaven!

Thank you so very very much! Send my greetings to "Jimmi" and SRV, and all the other great Bluesperformers who also "left" to early!

  • Saw Jeff perform this at the old Town and Country Club in Leeds (U.K.) on the Cover to Cover Tour in '96 if memory serves me right. This song and the concert was sublime.

  • GREAT TALENT

  • I don't like this version. It's too much.

  • Life is so unfair: a legend dies and JUSTIN BIXA is alive..... ououo

  • Grande Jeff¡¡¡

  • he was blind to see anything but his music is still better than the music those kids listen nowdays

  • he is playing with philip sacye

  • Thank you Jeff.

  • He lived a life 180 times better than we did.

    yaawabr Jeff.

(you are and will always be remembered).

  • I saw on wiki a few months back and noticed that he had died a while back. Makes me sad to think how life fucked him over, but I guess he died doing what he loved. Thats whats important

  • I saw this guy in Memphis years ago and I get still goose bumps just thinking about it. What an astonishing talent

  • The best musicians send a shiver down your spine! Jeff had it.

  • you just dont know whats round that big fat ugly corner, so make the most of your life

  • I had the distinct PLEASURE of seeing Jeff With Clarence Spadey in 1994 in Lancaster,PA. I was at the most,10 feet from him. I stood there for 1 and1/2 hours and didn't move a muscle. I will never forget that night. It was like an Epiphany for me.

  • love the man pure heart and soul, god bless him and all of us .... Weather you believe or not.. What a LEGEND...

  • Lifes so unfair a legend dies and kanye west lives !

  • @charliecd001 So true

  • @charliecd001

    eh ehehehhe

    that's funny .I love it

  • @charliecd001 Do you know you are a f*cking eugenist ? I agree no comparison can be doing between Kanye and Jeff, but you think like an eugenist !

  • @R3DH0X Also forgot to add of 54 comments 44 people who appretiate talent agreed with me! :-p

  • @charliecd001 I think they didn't reflect about your sentence. And it's 44 of 50.000 viewers, not 44 of 54 comments ;-)

  • @charliecd001 Kanye can have a shit!

  • @charliecd001 ill make a deal with god. justin bieber for jimi hendrix, miley cyrus for kurt cobain, kanye west for gary moore, and rebecca black for jeff healey.

  • @charliecd001

    So true!

  • @charliecd001 . Judgement day will come . Closer than you think...

  • @charliecd001 You shouldn't wish anyone death, doesn't matter if you like him/her or not. You could wish though that Jeff Healey would be as popular as Kanye West and with that I totally agree with you.

  • Nyugodj békében Jeff...

  • R.I.P. GREAT LEGEND ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Just shows how unfair the world is...first cancer claims his eyes as child, then it claims his life later....RIP Jeff you were always great from the day you claimed your guitar!

Just shows theres no god, because theres no fairness here...;(

  • @thomsha75 / I agree 100%. Jeff Healey was pure talent

  • Jeff's guitar talks ...

  • @lemadera still does......that man had one of the FATTEST Strat tones I've ever heard(yes, FX peds and such, but STILL had balls to the sound), floors me every time I hear that man's music. R.I.P., Jeff Healey....one of the best.

  • @bowslap I couldn't agree more, I have 2 of his DVD's and they're amazing... I only wish I had had the chance to see him playing live. And from all the players I like very much such as Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler, Jeff was the only one I was confident I'd see. R.I.P.Jeff

  • @lemadera it sure does and more. what a gift he had without sight. RIP Mr. Jeff Healy

  • When it comes to music your real eyes are your soul ! If you see some artists getting into busting out a solo ie. Stevie Ray they close their eyes when they get into the zone/soul and this is no diff for Jeff. This video should be proof enough that music comes from the soul !! That's what I dislike about all the radio garbage.. there is no soul just money making mentality behind it.. I listen to underground hip hop personally but those artists are from the soul which aligns when my music taste

  • im the 9999th viewer

  • @rhcpkzi i will send a badge pal !! lol

  • does anyone know the name of the second guitarist?

  • @becane2cross Philip Sayce, he's unbelievable go check out some of his stuff on Youtube.

  • @lilmike1566 thanks

  • Jeff is a LEGEND

  • God bless ya Jeff...... and thanks for your music R.I.P.

  • R.I.P. Jeff

  • THIS GUY IS A GODD

  • now this is a guitarist
