@akoztha24 expression isnt limeted to sheer talent alone, and these tools alow for a whole new world of musical expression, im sure mozart ould love to get his hands on a few of these toys!
This looks like the holy grail to me; relatively cheap, polyphonic, and doesn't need a special pickup. So I must ask; is there anything comparable or better out there for the price?
And yeah, Fripp & Eno rock! XD their Evening Star album was a revelation. Thankx in advance.
I love the space guitar stuff you have posted. Some of the most extreme sounds I've heard. Keep it up! BTW - I bought a Hog and Echolution after seeing this vid. I told my wife we can wait on a new washing machine! Any suggestions on other drone-ambient artists I might like?
I like all the Fripp and Eno stuff. One of the most compelling ambient albums is "Deep Listening" by Pauline Oliveros. Its recorded live in a giant underground cement cisturn. The natural reverb decay was 30 sec! It's Oliveros on a special accordion, someone else on a trombone and another on digeridoo. They play long drones and interact with the reverb tails and texture. It's amazing.
@serialorder your wife was in here earlier and is now selling her feet to finance your funding of a gold plated Britney spears original mini skirt. Is there no end you will steep too?
I didn't set out to do a complete "product demonstration" video. I leave that up to the pros. I'm not employed by EHX. I just wanted to show some of the ways I have fun with the pedal and hopefully someone else might get some enjoyment out of it, and possibly be inspired to create some music on their own, that's all. You might even think about creating some music yourself and sharing it with Youtube! How about a definitive Hog demo?
Analogger, mate, what would you suggest me - HOG or Microsynth? well, I like HOG (and all of his incredible options and possibilities) according to video and audio demos I heard on net, but Microsynth is one fat analog bastard, much more limited but ruder and fatter than HOG.
yeah, you can hear the cosmic inspiration in her earlier stuff. It just takes any artist time to go thru different periods of creativity. Some people are "music machines" like Timbaland - they latch onto what's popular and build on it. Others are strictly guided by a muse that operates on its own time schedule - not that of a record label or public opinion.
I used to have a Digitech Space Station. I wish I still had it. Besides all the incredible effects, it was a cool swell pedal. I have the Pigtronix Attack Sustain which has an amazing "swell" feature which can be set to not only fade in the volume but you can set it to cut off wherever. The only thing is its not manual...you adjust the knobs and that's what you get. Really cool, though. there is also a trigger input to fire the envelope with an audio signal.
Fantastic! This is what I'm looking for. Kudos to EH for making something besides the usual variation on the old faves. Kudos to Analogger for a really well done demo. Great ambient/psychedelic sounds.

Let the insults fly there, davinci27! I like how unintelligent you sound, because that's basically what you are an uncouth, loud mouth piece of garbage.
I bet your smoking your third pack of cigarettes when you typed all of that. You piece of junk.
I have a POG that makes great organ and bass sounds. As a matter of fact, I think I might sell my Roland GR-20 becasue it cannot track like these POg and HoG's. Do you have a POG? If not maybe I should make a video.
Er, how well does the Pigtronix Echolution manage live situations? I play in an art/noise/post-rock band and have been looking for something like this for quite a while. However, I am hesitating buying one since it has no presets. You seem to manage alright, sitting down... What do you reckon?
Hi...I would highly recommend the Damage Control Timeline. Its sounds absolutely incredible! Seriously...the best I have, which includes the Echolution, a Korg SDD-3000 and a TC Electronic D-Two. The Timeline will also sync to midi and has presets. If a tap-tempo is good enough for you live, I would look into the Echolution. He is coming out with V2 soon. Otherwise, go with a Timeline. I also hear the Eventide Time Factor is a monster! I hope I've helped a bit.
Dammit man!!! You're making me want one of these things again! But every time I'm about to pull the trigger I stop cause I think "This is just waaayyyy too much money." How does the octave up and down with the exp pedal compare to the whammy? Cause I think if I get this I might as well bump the whammy off the board.
You get into the different modes with the white "Exp Mode" button. Then, for example, in the Octave Bend mode, the Exp. Button will shift your pitch up an octave. Its either all or nothing, while with the Exp Pedal, you can slowly bend it up. In the Wah Wah mode the Exp Button opens the filter up all the way with nothing in between. That's where you have to use the exp pedal in order to control the amount of the wah sound.
I've been looking at this pedal for awhile.. I was halfway impressed but it looked like it might be overpriced and overrated. This video, however, has shown me what this thing can do.
I am especially impressed with the step bending sounds.
Could you please check if with all the sliders at zero( also the input gain and the dry output) and with the effect on, you can hear a low dry signal passing through(try it with high volume at your equipment)?
Very similar. The cool thing about the POG is that you can detune the octaves. However, the HOG has more octaves - 1&2 down - 1,2,3$4 up - plus a 5th up, 1 octave plus 5th up, and two octaves plus 3rd up. So you can get really great organ sounds. The HOG also has tons of cool tricks with the expression pedal. The HOG's filter has a resonance slider as well. You can get much more radical sounds with the HOG - but for the price, the POG is great for what it does!
So can I do everything the POG does with the HOG? And more? So it can do organ just as well, or better? Thanks. Analogger hah that's a name I can trust. I only care for analog sounds!
Yes...it will do everything and more. The only thing is the HOG can't slightly de-tune the octaves like the POG can. But the POG can't do the 5ths and 3rds like the HOG. Also...with the HOG you can use the 3 and 4 octaves up on a bass guitar and it sounds really cool.
Ah thx, so if I have the HOG I don't need the POG! Great. Well, I mean, the detuning isn't necessary for the organ sounds rite? That's the main thing i'm interested in. And do you know if it can do anything that sounds like a minimoog or something similar?
For that I would recomend the EH Micro Synthesizer. It actually generates an analog synth wave along with a sub-octave and an octave up that you mix in with your guitar. It works best on single notes - but it has an analog filter and you can get some good "Moog-type" sounds out of it. Put "micro synthesizer demo" in the search box and you'll see a good demo of what I'm talking about.

my current fx chain is:
VOX Snake Charmer tube comp - VOX volume pedal - Digitech Whammy 4 - Budda Budwah - Boss SD1 (moded) - MXR Bluebox (moded) Roger Mayer Mongoose fuzz - Ibanez AD9 (vintage) - EH Nano Small Stone - EH Polychorus - Boss DD20 - Line6 Verbzilla + Alesis Quadraverb sometimes, all that into Orange Tiny Terror.
I play psychedelic, drone, stoner, sludge, ambient, kraut dub stuff... and I'm not an analog snob, although I always prefer analog.
thanks.
cheers!

All you need is a good reverb unit, delay, and distortion. That's it. Everything else is secondary.
