Okay, no offense- you said in the description only horsey people would know..
You lost your stirrups, it looked like you had your hands on the horses neck to keep you balanced and you didn't pull his head up when he went to eat...yeah...cool
The girth is done up, she has said, sometimes if the horse is a bit fat and has no withers the saddle slide forwards, this happened with a pony my friend rides, they use a crupper and it stops it happening. :)
ive fallen off a shetland i was bareback with no bridle and only a halter n leadrope and the cow dog was chasing him and man a small but very stubborn breed
ive fallen off a shetland i was bareback with no bridle and only a halter n leadrope and the cow dog was hasing him and man a small but very stubborn breed
I wouldnt be to sure... any horse could hurt you for example i fell off a small horse and i got kicked in the face and had 20 stitches... horses are dangerous but i love them to much :) <3
@missharriet1234 Uhh.... If you didnt read the description properly the girth was tight "ENOUGH" and sometimes lots of shetlands have flat backs so you dont need to go off critizicing peoples riding or tacking job k
People THINK its the girth but different breeds have different shapes in their' backs, etc. IT MIGHT NOT BE THE GIRTH .. you need one of those straps that attach to the D-ring at the back of the saddle and the tail (sorry i dont know the name=dont know everything as some people THINK they do! LOL) ..that keeps the saddle from slipping forwards. Its better to fall off a horse then a pony coz you have more time to turn yourselve round to landing a safer way 'like on ur feet!' people needa know dat
@EquestrianSpirit it was actually tight its just that the ponys back is flat so the saddle comes foward so please dont go posting stuff you dont no about!
I fell off a shetland once. It was hilarious, I hopped on bareback and bridleless in her pasture and she took off. She slipped in a patch of mud and pulled a really sharp turn to keep from falling herself, and I fell into it. But I fancy myself a much better (and more responsible!) rider now, so hopefully it won't happen again x3
You should actually check your tack before you go on a ride...especially the girth...and you shouldnt be riding that poor pony your way to tall and big for him maybe consider riding a bit bigger pony next time!
@khorse158 it was actually tight its just that the ponys back is flat so the saddle comes foward so please dont go posting stuff you dont no about! And also shes a shetland so shes very strong and doesnt mind a bit...also shes my sisters pony! And I do have a bigger pony, so I dont know what your going on about!
Loads of people say how the he'll can you fall of a shetland, it's slot easier to fall of a shetland than a horse !! N btw check the girth LOL but this is funny, it's like once he has a taste of grass he's done with you :D
@SuperJessmess the horse is young and she was training it, shes the smallest that can ride her, shetlands are one of the strongest horse breeds and can easily take extra weight. this little shetland is hard to ride and anyone smaller wouldnt be able to handle her.

May i please use this clip for a horsefalls video i am making? i would give you full credit, but i can understand if you don't want other people to use your clips :)
The girth might not have been too loose, speaking from expierience from someone whom trains hunter/jumper ponies. This pony (as many shetland bred smalls do) has a super flat back and no withers, when they choose to suddenly stop and drop their head the saddle due to the way they are built slides right up their neck. When working some of these types on the trails Ive had to hopp of on a steep down hill and lead the pony the rest of the way so as to not ride up his neck. They need a crupper.
@ccmso12 this is true the pony has a very flat and the girth is tight enough and how do i know this its because most of the time i have to tack up this pony
@Maccaranahorse The ponys girth is not lose if u did it any tighter the pony wouldnt be able to breathe just this pony is young and has a very flat back so the saddle slides off easy
2/2 tiny but surprisingly strong so even if she had tryed to pull up in reins the pony would have over powered her. they are also tough buggers, iv'e smacked my pony with a crop and (b4 he had any clue what i wanted from him) he barely egnolaged it he just kinda tossed his head like 'what on earth was that??" and all i have to do with the 16hh gelding is swat his ears to get a reaction. ponys ARE NOT EASY TO RIDE!! 1/2 XD i been there my pony will bend down and stop to eat at a canter and VOOP! i fall off XD he always stop catering before he runs me over and postpones eating till he knows i'm fine XD and as for the eating grass thing i've done every little bit of my ponys training (i am an advanced beginer if not intermediat 86pound teen rider, my pony holds 140pounds) and he still trys to eat grass once in awhile. and there is absolutly no way to stop him when we'r in a tall field of grass. these ponys
@xRAINBOWdropz Nah, to be fair i literally just tacked and got on a wild horse, she was alright then she threw me into a fence and jamp the grid... no its so so fun though! :)
ummm people i think she knows her girth was lose and YES do where a helmet on a horse/pony any size...
