My word, please don't put so much emphasis on the elAYEson, it sounds bloody awful. We sing it in a way that sounds tolerable to English ears - ElAYson.

Choirs used to have only male singers, that's what he means. For an authentic(not necessarily better, though)sound, therefore, it should only be sung by men. Nevertheless, she has sung it beautifully :)
