this left me in tears of laughter. found it while looking for another film of stan and ollie on a sleeper train in a single bunk with a cello. im sure the scenes of them in this clip are from the film im looking for but cant seem to find it on here.anyone help me out
@TheHairybaz The film you are thinking about is Berth Marks (29), one of the Boys earliest talkie - and yes, these clips are from that film.I'm glad you found my page. Check out my other montages where clips of L&H are abundant.
@piyompi That is correct. I'm glad you like the video. All of the clips in it has been released on DVD, so if you enjoy silent comedy it is out there. It's just a matter of searching them out.
I also have a 5 part video called CUT TO THE CHEAP that may interest you. It examines silent comedy in it's heyday trying to survive when sound came in. It also has lots of clips from that era. And then I made a short video SOUNDS OF SLAPSTICK, which is a musical montage of slapstick in the sound era.
This sucks green donkey dicks. Big band music and silent films do not go together. Plus there's countless pre war records about trains that are better than this corny song. Use music from the right time period.
VERY cool! As a fan of trains and old comedy, this one really is fun to me! Nice to see Buster Keaton, as he was himself a fan of trains. The last scene is from his film The General.
ThoughSeeminglySimpleInItsAssembly,ThisVidIsDeceptivelyComplex: The editing is at a pro-level. This and other examples displayed in this presentation demonstrate top editing prowess.
If I may I'd like to recommend a few other film montages that are on this channel - The Hollywood Overture and The First Flickers, both of which use the full gamut of Hollywood stars from it's earliest inception to the present day.
Again, I would like to thank everyone for their continued support.

@Friedtwizzler Sennett's WHISPERING WHISKERS (26) - Billy Bevan, Andy Clyde.
The shorts they made together for Sennett in the mid-20's are essential viewing for connoisseurs of low comedy.

What movies are at 3:07 and 3:12? The ones where cars are crossing really closely in front on the train? Anyone know?
piyompi 7 months ago
@piyompi That would be Larry Semon's THE SHOW (1922).
LowbrowProds 7 months ago
@LowbrowProds Thanks a bunch! I love your video, has a lot of stuff I've never seen.
What's the clip right before 3:12 with the guy holding his head? It looks like Buster Keaton. Is it "Sherlock Holmes Jr"?

Thanks! Lots of my favorite things here: trains, silent comedians, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra! (Even this particular recording of this song!)

@mjbari3 This version is from the movie SUN VALLEY SERENADE as I needed a longer version of the song to cram all of my edits in.
LowbrowProds 8 months ago
@LowbrowProds There is a longer version that I have on vinyl; it includes the entire music played for the dance number that follows!

For those of you who are rusty with their German bummelstudent said "Men without nerve", which pretty well sums up these clips.
