I think that people who don't like this song don't understand it - I'm a guy who loves his jazzy rock stuff and whatnot, and obviously I love to listen to lyrics, but Converge have always been able to express themselves through something more. I know that quite a few people listen to this in order to bang their heads, but seriously, LISTEN to the song, every crash on the symbols, every tempo change; it all adds up to one of the greatest and most emotional songs I've heard.

@TraceurOmega I wasn't familiar with Skramz but I just looked it up and when I said screamo I meant the popular, stereotypical screamo like Atreyu, Underoath, Alesana, etc. And by metalcore, I meant the same thing. Bands like As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage. I'm not too familiar with other metalcore or screamo because I steered clear of it after I had the misfortune of hearing those bands.

Bands in the metalcore genre I like include As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Parkway Drive etc. It's quite a diverse genre and just because you say you like a particular genre, doesn't mean you have to like who someone else considers to be the best band.

This would be a great band if they dropped the screamer. Incredibly tight licks, immaculate rhythms. But the screaming detracts from the quality of the whole until the very end.

@Deliverance02x That's your opinion and I respect that; it doesn't mean I have to agree with it though. I'd consider BFMV hard rock, not metalcore. Bands in the metalcore genre I like include As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Parkway Drive etc. It's quite a diverse genre and just because you say you like a particular genre, doesn't mean you have to like who someone else considers to be the best band.
