I was wondering why britney spears used to sound so different and more powerful back then.. and apparently that was a forced fake vocal using her throat which she'd copied from other artists when she was growing up.. and when she grew and was taught properly her natural voice wasnt so powerful!!

Britney use to sing more Broadway style as a kid and for most people, when someone is that young they can't tell the difference. However, I doubt she will ever sound good especially with all the "Chain-Smoking" she does! If she was a "real" singer she wouldn't be smoking. However, she knows her voice sucks no matter what and that is why she continues to smoke.

The reason Britney sings this way now is because Jive made her low her voice and make it sound more poppish and commercial, to fit the pop sound mainstream. They taught her how to, and this is why Britney sings the way she does now.
