we had a custom machined piec to attatch the shaft of the motor to the wheel. The wheel was just a bike wheel with a really bald tire

We just used a motor from the college stockroom. I can't remember what the specs were, but it was a pretty big motor similar to a motor that you would find in a tablesaw
