  • which stage was this song played on?

  • Never knew this theme was in bloodlines. Guess the game was too hard to get even that far :$

  • I wish Bloodlines is Released on Virtual Console.

  • epic and gothic like castlevania is!

  • The absolute best. This is the standard by which all Castlevania songs are measured by.

  • Just went back to here the SNES version and after listening to both the SNES still sounds better. but I like this one too. The SNES has more dimension with heavier, clearer beats. The SNES version sounds more intentional to fit the atmosphere of the 1st stage. This version though good more on a technical level than something that helps immerse yourself in the environment and situation (kicking skeletons' bony asses).

  • I would argue that the less graphical power a game has the better (more memorable) the music.

  • @MarcSylex Yeah, I agree. I think today's video game composers should write songs on old sound chips first, and make sure they hold their own against great melodies of the 90's like this.

  • what a horrible night for the U.S.

    to be cursed with 0bama.

  • @runsaber1 HILARIOUS POLITICAL HUMOR 10/10 I SUBSCRIBED

  • @runsaber1

Wow, good job just throwing an Obama sucks message into a place it doesn't belong tool. But since you asked for it let me ask you... how many people DIED due to the war Bu$h lied to us about? Get a clue you F-stick.

  • @TheSauron21 Think he's trying to say the message from Castlevania 2....the bad game :p. Not a good place to say about Obama though.

  • castlevania bloodlines - simons theme? its pretty funny its called simon's theme (it is from castlevania 4) but castlevania bloodlines didnt even have simon, or a belmont for all that. still orignal truly the best theme song for simon

  • @zerogx12

the original name of the song is Dance of the Holy Man. The best remix of this particular song.

  • If I were Simon I'd be scared SHITLESS to see a huge ass Dracula Face appear above the castle. Those fangs are as big as his towers!

    Oh and 1:01 !

  • snes sound > genises sound

  • @halodystroyer44 i dont think so. ;)

  • Castlevania bloodlines

  • You can tell from the pic that Simon does his squatz and eats his oatz.

  • this is so Genesis

  • @go2viraj And genesis does.

  • Oh, my God. I feel such nostalgia. I went to download "SEGA emulator "and be back to my childhood)))))

  • Looks like Simon's got some funk on :)

  • Its just me , Or Dracula Seen that he is the Joker...

  • What happened to my highest rated comment? Mine had 29 likes which at the time of this writing was higher than both current HRC's. Wtf.

  • I love both versions SO SHUT THE FUCK UP FAGS.

  • visit neslyrics to hear vampire killer lyrics video

    hope you enjoy

    Castlevania music rocks

  • that whip is pretty long

  • Shru Who > Simon Theme

  • @tengodinerojeje your statement is true on this version... but...

    Shru Who < Simon's (SCV4) theme

  • I've never heard any covers or remixes that can capture the emotion of this version of the song.

There's nothing quite like it. It sounds spooky, deep and adventurous.

  • @HamsterPants522 i still like the original more though

  • @halodystroyer44 I think they're both flawless in their own ways and capture similar emotions.

  • Proof that the Genesis' sound system didn't suck... well, not all the time.

  • @GeekControl2MajorTim

everything sucks with a bad driver at the wheel ;)

try comparing thunder force 3 to thunder spirits on the snes.

  • This is me, not making an Edward Cullen reference.

  • Since I played Bloodlines before Super Castlevania, the first time, I heard this song was in Bloodlines. Now that I've played most Castlevania games, this song means something more to me. SImon Belmont fought Dracula twice (yes, just like Japan, Super Castlevania is now a retelling of the first game in North America and not another sequel) and eventually died because of it. So when I hear this song, it almost makes me feel like a new generation of heroes are taking up the Belmont mantle.

  • WOOOOOOOOO FUCKKKKKKK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • I do believe in Dracula because of castlevania

  • i can only imagine how good this would sound on snes....genesis had crappy sound

  • @nateword {Insert Other Opinion Here}

  • @OSDolphin .....uh yeah ok

  • @nateword doh...listen to the snes version of SCIV....and no it doesnt sound better then this...genesis organs sound ftw.

  • @TMNtamonte everyone is entitled to their opinion but no way does genesis sound better......snes had better channels for music,i in no way am saying the c'vanina bloodlines music is bad,i'm just saying it would sound better on snes

  • @nateword snes beeing a newer system theoretically has a better sound chip (16bit vs 8bit)...but u really cant compare them like that cause each one produces different sounds...genesis sinthesis was better for "techno" sounds, while snes had sound samples for instance...

  • @TMNtamonte if you say so,all i'm saying is,play clay fighter or street fighteron genesis, then play on snes, then tell me what system has better sound

  • @nateword like I said, depends on the kind of music it is really...snes was more all rounded and did things that genesis couldnt but there are some sounds that genesis did that snes didn't. I never heard a cristal clear organ like u hear here on the snes for instance.

  • i think that castlevenia is an AWESOME game i first heard about it when i was browsing in angry video game nerd video's. and if you didn't heard about angry video game nerd then where are you waiting for

  • this is the genesis version of the simon theme and its, imo, the very best.

  • simon was okay.. i kinda liked eric better on this game because you could avoid the crappy alternative routes and he was.. well better at fighting in my opinion.

  • i gotta say this equals the snes version

  • Rainbow in the background sky? Subliminal messages.

  • Why are the Top Comments lower than my comment?

  • killing Dracula with a whip, now THAT's a man!

  • Wow! He sure has a nice ass!!! And that body! LOL!!

  • All i can say is that they showed the full potential of the soundchip and what MegaDrive / Genesis was capable. I love both versions of this theme song...enough said :)

  • ROFL dracula is soooo gay on this pic

  • LOL, Dracula is the Joker with vampire teeths :D

  • Let's end this..

    *Cracks knuckles*

  • They shoulda used this as the final "form of Dracula" music like they did in Super Castlevania IV(BEST GAME EVER)!

  • Genesis Version > SNES Version

  • @Thycid This is still notbetter than the SNES version IMO

  • @psycholink44 You think the snes version is better? i think the snes version sounds terrible. the genesis one has much more detail and the instruments are more real sounding

  • Comment removed

  • @Thycid yes i think the SNES version is better. WAY better in fact. face it. nothing beats originals.

  • @psycholink44 "nothing beats originals." no, that's not always the case, often an adaption of the original is better, and that is the case here. the snes version is terrible, imo. you probably grew up with it and that colored your appreciation of it.

  • @psycholink44 to clarify, the snes version sound disjointed and broken, more like a succesion of notes played one after the other than a piece of music. there's no flow to it at all.

  • @robokill387 i belive you are (im gonna be blunt) DEAD FUCKING WRONG. basically you described this version instead

  • Thumbs up if the beginning of the song reminds you of Henry's Quest from Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness

  • @TheRealKidAstro

    Not bad. Fav'd n subbed.

  • who composed this ???

  • @breakingbenjaminguy2

Michiru Yamane is the composer, she is a Japanese composer, made the musics from Contra Hard corps for Genesis too!

  • Comment removed

  • This needs a damn download link!!!! :3

  • Its amazing how this sounds so much more epic which makes sense cause it plays right before you go up agaisnt Dracula. Bloodlines had a really memorable and catchy soundtrack and goes right up their with best castlevania games.

Its unfair to bash the music of this game just because of the sound chip. Im pretty sure we all could name music on the NES or Gameboy that sounds better than some games on the SNES or the Genesis. There a lot more to making good music sometimes than what hardware its on.

  • @KnightSparhawk Agreed about playing before Dracula, which is even better if you've played the originals and heard the track before, it gives a real morale boost. It works even better on Super Castlevania 4 how it plays when you've got Dracula down to 5hp, just love these games especially the music.

  • @KnightSparhawk I agree. And there wasn't anything wrong with the sound chip, I mean just listen to Emerald Hill Zone.

  • 7 Twi-fags disliked this

  • This song gave me incredible biceps, upper body strength, titanium thighs, and an arsenal of manly proportions.

  • @redquoter really? Because after hearing this rendition, I noticed that my pants were missing...mysteriously replaced by a manly tunic...Odd...

  • @Jazzypants2007 Simon, to be exact.

  • This game was the bomb back in the day. And guess what, IT STILL IS! A darn shame that Nintendo hasn't released it onto the Wii/DS Shops yet. It's long overdue if you ask me. I would even like to see Bloodlines revamped in 1080p and placed on the Xbox Live Arcade. That would be cool too.

  • Proof that the Genesis's sound chip was superior to the SNES's.

  • HEY GUESS WHAT?!

I have the game on my original genesis! ;)

  • actually im thinking that even dracula would love this music. However, trolls will be trolls :3. Perhaps dracula try's to kill simon because he doesn't get awesome music?

  • @TheDeathClox Jealousy that starts the rivalry of centuries.

  • actually im thinking that even dracula would love this music. However, trolls will be trolls :3.

  • @RetroShinigami so true :D

  • i put on this song my bro thought it was final fantasy >.>

  • I rember the first time i walked up those stairs with the moon in the black sky

and this music playing i was ready to fight dracula.

  • everytime I hear this song

    *breaks out Vampire killer*

"Well time to go defeat Dracula"

  • i love castlevania

  • awesome song, genesis doesnt do it justice with its crappy sound system tho :(

  • @Iamthemole1986 Sega Genesis music is fucking amazing

  • This song makes me wanna kick some ass.

Better not be anyone named Dracula within 10 feet of me when this is playing.

  • it feels epic success

  • i remember the first time i walked the floor, the music appears and i felt a little bit scared. then there was the fight against dracula.

only the 8-bit and 16-bit consoles had a gameplay like this.

  • I like this version more than the snes version :)

  • why does super castlevania 4 fell so advanced compared to bloodlines, i mean the are both 16 bit!

  • @thecomedymaker because the sega genesis was first the competition of Nes not Snes and comparing this with the snes...it's way too much the difference between them.

  • @thecomedymaker

Different gameplay ideas implemented in addition to SNES having slower, but FAR MORE POWERFUL hardware.

  • Simon slays all that gets in his way, and flexing his butt while doing it.

  • i thought the ending was a bit abrupt other than that great song! :]

  • the picture of simon looks like arnold in conan, i wonder if arnold could make a good belmont in a movie

  • @Sanderk1

Most certainly. The Belmonts were DESIGNED after Arnold I'm sure. I'm sure sure SURE of it!! Just lookit this cover art and look to Conan's cover art.

  • The more you talk about the thumbdowns, the more they appear/

  • that one random never beat the first castlevania -__-

  • I like the Sega sound chip better than the SNES. I know it's not as sophisticated, but it has more, I dunno, "bite" to it. Also that warbly bass sound in this song is awesome (0:11) and nowhere to be found in Castlevania IV.

  • Comment removed

  • @mattbeaudoin1 i agree. also the organ sound in this version seems more vivid than the sampled one on snes. the drums might suck, but it's a great tune anyway

  • In my opnion, I think they've butchered this iconic theme ever so slightly, I like it, but it's just over jazzed and for that reason im put off it.

  • if only the genesis head a sound processor like the super nintendo.

the SNES had an 8-bit sound processor - but the genesis had a 16 bit one, and the SNES still has better sound :)

  • @167349productions this version is not half as good as the SNES version, though i suppose it's alright. this piece has that familiar Genesis twang, you can tell a given piece is from a Genesis game, based on that twang alone. Genesis could never do anything as good as SNES, no matter how powerful the equipment was they were working with

  • Comment removed

  • @167349productions shut up and enjoy vid or tits or gtfo

  • @167349productions

Rip the Genesis for its lesser music potential all you like, but there is no song in Super Castlevania IV that sounds as good as the songs in the Genesis installment (in fact, SCIV's version of this very piece is quite shrill and cheesy).

Konami's music people put blood, sweat and tears into their work on Bloodlines, and despite the "twang", it shows. Singular effort always counts for more than how advanced your sound processor is when it comes to memorable soundtracks.

  • @167349productions

I was actually here to talk about the music, not a list of random things that bother you about the Genesis or older games' whip mechanics. You seem to be straying off-topic.

  • Comment removed

  • @167349productions

    If you wish.

It's just a minor disagreement about a topic of little importance. Won't matter by this time tomorrow.

  • @VysetheTard dont mouth off at him, he is simply stating that he preffers the snes version, and is adding reasons. Also, i agree with him that the snes version isnt cheesy, its on par, however i preffer this version mostly because its like a really complicated nes song =p. i just has that..sound but its vastly more complicated, whereas the snes version sounds more like instruments. I love both but this just has a certain..eerie and spectacular sound to it.

  • @VysetheTard dont mouth off at him, he is simply stating that he preffers the snes version, and is adding reasons. Also, i agree with him that the snes version isnt cheesy, its on par, however i preffer this version mostly because its like an nes song with difereant layers =p. i just has that..sound but its vastly more complex than what the nes could do, whereas the snes version sounds more like instruments. I love both but this just has a certain..eerie and spectacular sound to it.

  • @167349productions it was the other way arround...snes had 16 bit sound and genesis 8 bit...still to me this doesn't sound any worse then the snes versions, the organs sound much better here. Listen to Calling from heaven too. And remeber, Genesis is 2 years older :P

  • @167349productions and about the "sega does what nintendon't" comercial it was sega was refering to the NES not the SNES witch didn't even exist when that comercial first apeared xD Gotta do a bit more ressearch before posting fanboy stuff :P

  • Comment removed

  • @167349productions well if u knew that why posting bullshit in the first place? At least assume that you were wrong... I was just clarifying those facts. Genesis put up great competition beeing 2 years older... Anyway I never said sega did better then nintendo, did I? Sure, sega did plenty of screw ups, but genesis wasn't one, and the DreamCast even not being a sales success, was way ahead of it's time, and it's considered by some the best console ever made, ppl just didnt trust sega.

  • Dracula disliked the video

  • @Enaveel LOL

  • ....O_O

    THIS SONG WAS IN BLOODLINES?

Holy crap. I must replay it and find it.

  • @JRcomix It was sorta hidden... I think you had to have full power on your whip/spear and needed to stay unharmed in a certain section where it played. If you were hit, iit stopped. Or was that Vampire Killer? Then Simon's Theme was played directly before the match against Dracula and Drolta Tsuentes.

  • looks cool but boring right dude =p

  • one person missed the like button, probably because they hated everything after 3:07?

  • lets see whose the better belmont, simon, trevor, or richter, hmm hard to say

  • @slaymaster999 simon

  • 0:35 - 1:09 = BEST PART! INCREDIBLE! AWESOME! SEXY!

FUCKING AMAZING REMIX!!! Now I NEED TO OWN BLOODLINES!!!!

  • @whostolecarlosrox not a remix.

  • @TheDeathClox

What else would you call it?

  • @whostolecarlosrox another version. came out around the same time, and also a remix makes it sound..idk..not as awesome..? besides i thought this one came before super castlevania 4 ..? but still i freaking love this song :D

  • @whostolecarlosrox I do. It's an AMAZING game. Funnily enough, I hated it when I first played it. I came back to it years later though, and it's bitchin'.

  • JOKER IN DA SKY

  • who's your favorite belmont?

  • "gasp" Dracula is the Joker (O_O)

  • Dem legs.

  • Wow!!! Never heard this before! This is probably my favorite version of this track I've ever heard, and that includes any remixes/covers!

  • conan vs the joker with fangs

    WHO WILL WINZZ

  • Why does Dracula look like the Joker?

  • @MrRobertSama That's funny because of BATman. lol ;D

  • @kishire6murcielago Hey Simon, why so serious. :D

  • @MrRobertSama But they used "John Moore" or some horsecrap, but still tis is awesome.

  • @kishire6murcielago never thought of that...

  • @MrRobertSama Bad guys have to smile or you might feel bad for them.

  • The first time I got near Dracula, and heard this song, I just stopped dead in my tracks and listened for about 5 minutes.

  • This is not the best track of Bloodline.

  • If Real Simon and Judgment Simon were to meet, Real Simon would donate his own balls to the newer, just so he can kick them and grow more of his own.

  • Time to go simon belmont on your ass, Dracula!

  • I'm 24 and Castlevania 1 was the first videogame I played at 3 or so years old. WHY THE FUCK AM I JUST HEARING ABOUT THIS NOW?!

  • @whostolecarlosrox castlevania was one of my first also

  • Dracula seems to be angry at him and he disliked the video.

  • @xboxman333 Death also created a Youtube account, LOOK!

  • @edgarbh01 Oh no! We'll have to call Link too then!

  • @xboxman333 rofl, awesome comment

  • This one is good, but I like the original better. I dislike how they changed the intro, and also they made the chorus softer than the rest of the song, when it should be the loudest and best part of the song.

  • This is my favorite version, with the Chronicles one.

Best theme for the final stairs... with the Castlevania 64 one (Stairway to the clouds).

  • Just as good as the SNES version, and even better in some parts. This song gave me shivers.

  • Dracula looks like the joker but with fangs.

  • Ah yeah, Dance of the Holy Man a.k.a. Simon's Theme. What can I say? It's good that this little piece of badassness made it to Genny. It's maybe the best track in whole fucking series (Vampire Killer is only the second best). And Simon is definitely the best Castlevania character ever. Fuck you, Alucard and fuck every single other girly-looking boy. Too bad they fucked up Simon in Chronicles and Judgement, making him look like a fucking sado-maso-queer.

  • i don't like the music from sega mega drive and the other consoles but this is awesome!

  • Who's the one whose mouse slipped and accidentally clicked on the dislike button?

  • @MetalSonic150 I dunno, some wiener.

  • @MetalSonic150 Now there's 7 dislikes! It's become an EPIDEMIC! :O

  • @Jazzypants2007 they're obviously twilight fags-oops! i meant, fans...

  • @jacob98674 No, no, you're right. They're fags. And that's not a slam against gay people. Twilight fans are fags (Annoying douchebags with no respect for proper literature). There's a difference.

Also? Simon and Richter need to create a time paradox and kill the fuck out of that twat Edward Cullen. Perhaps even his entire annoying family.

  • @Jazzypants2007 No doubt, It would take only one Belmont to slaughter the entire Twilight crew.

  • @Jazzypants2007 Besides, Twilight is a mockery of the entire vampire genre, not to mention a disgrace to Bram Stoker's work. A lot of my co-workers are really into twilight and I almost got canned for talking severe trash about the Twilight fags.... i mean fans (No disrespect to gay people intended). Edward has nothing on Dracula. Dracula would just pop in on the Twilight crew, and then............DEMONIC MEGGIDO!
