Trying sound all sophisticated and smart by saying they all do one purpose and serve as tools. Bitch what else gun suppose to do you really gotta repeat that 5 times in your video or something. You're dumb and useless and don't know anything that's what I got from this vid
This was useless. And so what if you prefer one or the other? That doesn't mean shit. Nobody's going to hand you "this little guy" as if you're a secret agent who doesn't get to pick their firearm. You're delusional. And provided nothing but aesthetics that can be given with looking at a firearm for 5 seconds. Oh wow ones heavier. Oh wow other has longer grip. Wtf dude you're dumb and this video sucked. Thanks for wasting my time skinny woman hands douche
hes trying to explain through the whole video that they are the same they do the same thing they fire bullets sure one may suit you better but if you had to i know you would be using any type of pistol
I'm tired of "fan boys" fighting over which caliber is better. I personally could care less how large the bullet is. Realistically, all hand guns are under powered when it comes to self defense. Get a gun you can control, one you are confident with, and one you can shoot accurately and efficiently. I absolutely love .45's as well as 9mm. You're ignorant if you think 1 shot from a .45 or a 9mm is going to stop a threat. you shoot until the threat is down, no question about it.
@GunsNewEngland Exactly. Also, the truth is that nobody likes to be shot with anything. Put ten rounds of .22LR into someone's chest and see how enthusiastic they still are about carrying on the fight...
.45 is a animal compared to a 9. have you ever shot both of them one right after another!?!?! Yeah get more capacity with a 9 but it will take 2-3 shots to really put someone down versus 1. Theres a reason why armed forces are complaining about the m9 being a 9mm cause it has less hitting power....
@weltz99 Anybody who thinks the .45 acp will ALWAYS kill in one shot is living in a fantasy world. There are people who have survived multiple rounds of .45 acp.
@weltz99 a shot to the heart, head, or spine will end you wether it's a 9 or 45 or other.. A shot elsewhere is a maybe wether it's a 45 or a 9.. More rounds is much more beneficial then larger do to the fact you have more chances to hit vitals
i don't think 1911 are so great from what I see, people that buy the expensive 1911s
Kimbers, etc, are always making exuses why their overpriced guns jam, its the ammo,
bad magazine, guns not broken in yet, needs to be cleaned, or this or that, Then they get mad, when you can take a 100 dollar Hi Point out of the box, and it doesn't jam, and is just as accurate.but will call the HI Point junk.
Don't miss my point. Obviously an old gun that doesn't shoot for squat won't suffice. But we're not talking about some old piece of junk compared to a supreme firearm. I get 8" groups with my 1911 @ 50' because I train with my 1911 not because it's better than a Glock. Todays guns are so much more accurate than you or I will ever be. So learn how to shoot what you have well & stop making excuses for bad marksmanship by comparing micro differences in one firearm against another. That's my point.
I keep reading the term, "all things being equal". The fact is that all things are not equal. They never are. Your training is ten times more important than the gun you carry. This is the main reason why the media & the feds are so up our butts about gun ownership. Many gun enthusiasts just want to carry, they don't want to be responsible & train hard. With that said, yes of course there are some advantages to one gun over another. But so what? Poison darts will do the same job with training.
@MrThedocholiday I recall story about a Dutch army general telling the story about how his grandfather was an excellent marksman and joined the Dutch army during WW2. He saw German soldiers marching and attempting to fire his rifle at them, but nothing but a puff of a smoke came out and the Germans were still marching. It didn't make a difference that he was an excellent marksman, his rifle was old.
@esh325 yes, a story. Let me tell you a story. I once prepared a simple boxing combo against a couple fellow martial arts students who were much better than myself. I had absolutely no boxing experience & had also changed my stance from right to southpaw just for this combo of strikes. I had a strategy that I trained with for about two weeks. When I got a chance to spar against my better oponents, I clocked them so bad they had to stop the sparing & get checked out. Training is the best strategy
@esh325 yes, but in this video we're talking about two guns that basically do the same thing, not one guy with a fist & another with a gun. Do you understand what a principle is? When you consider a principle, you compare it to nearly equal specs, not apples & oranges. That is exactly my point. These are both guns that shoot well, though slightly different compared to a piece of junk that won't fire. Training can by far outclass the difference between similar weapons. So train...
For those who can't afford more than 1 gun, learn how to master that 1 model in spite of it's inherent flaws. Speed, accuracy & success at getting the job done is so much less a matter of the gun then it is a matter of your training. The proof of that is people who have mastered all different types of weapons with deadly accuracy & speed. But it's easier to sit around being lazy, crying about a problem, than it is to get up & train like a soldier. No guts, no forward progress, no glory.
He makes a good point. Each gun is different & has it's good & bad qualities. So learn how to master multiple types of firearms & the problem with incovenience is solved. The whyning & bickering about which is best is put to sleep along with all the high maintenance babies who only know how to shoot their favorite spit wad. Grow up, train like a man & be responsible. We should be so fortunate as to still be able to own or carry any kind of weapon to protect ourselves in this country.
Both are very good guns i love the 1911...But for the price of a G19 and the reliability of the gun is a winner in my opinion...If World War 3 would to happen the G19 would be the way to go because not only it's reliabilty but the fact that you can put a 30 plus round magazine and 9mm rounds are much cheaper to shoot....
Grew up on a 1911, great gun. Recently bought a g19 and put 300 threw it at the range last Saturday, awesome gun. Accurate and easy to handle, not to mention zero failure to feeds on shitty blazer 350rd bulk ammo. That's better than my 1911 can do, it's super picky when it comes to ammo. Love both guns and u people need to stop the childish 1911 vs the world horseshit.
1911s are better both in my opinion and experience. that said, Glock is a formidable opponent but the only ways in which it really rivals the 1911 are in draw speed, weight and ammunition capacity.
and really you can draw a 1911 fast with training. if the 1911 is too heavy, lift weights. if ammo capacity is a problem, learn to aim.
the 1911 was also made long before polymer was ever conceived and before they had cad/cam. it worked for 100 years and still going so its good enuf for me
@lethalweapon129 A 1911 is not heavy by itself, but when you throw in gear belt,a long with extra magazines, and other items, you'll see the advantage of a lighter gun. Everybody misses, this is a fact. Especially in stressful situations. Having more rounds is an advantage. In police gun battles, you rarely hear of them shooting seven rounds and calling it a day.
@esh325 My uncle carried a 1911 and a bunch of gear in Vietnam no problem. Didn't need any of that plastic stuff then. I'm sure it's a great gun that does its job well, but the 1911 is just better.
@lethalweapon129 A 1911 is going to weight about 1 pound more fully loaded then a Glock. You will feel that 1 pound difference. It's not going anywhere. The 1911 being better is nothing but an opinion. Just like the Glock being better is nothing but an opinion.
A 1911 is more accurate than any polymer pistol, yes it's a pound heavier but really a pound and everyone cries? Guess that's y they made a 9mm for cry babies who can't handle a 45, either way I own both and both shoot great but a 1911 has that bigger 45
@regret92 How does being a polymer frame mean it's less accurate? Have you fired EVERY single polymer framed handgun out there to come to that conclusion? It sounds like a baseless assumption to me. A pound is a lot when you're carrying additional magazines, and other equipment. And having to carry it all around day. The 9mm came about before the .45 acp. They make a Glock in .45. I have one, it's called a Glock 21.
2 guns for 2 different purposes? More like 2 guns, 1gun is for actually relying on & shooting(Glock), 1 gun is to take to the range to look pretty(1911)....Okay 1911 fan-boys, let the flaming begin, I'm ready for it!!!! hahahaha ..good day
The 1911 bore height looked higher than the Glocks. Funny, since the 1911 seems to be the standard other pistol makers tend to model their guns after. The Glock is just an all around sweet pistol!
@Pooshooter5k Certain loads of 9mm can deliver near the same amount of energy. In many gelatin tests with JHP's, the 9mm and .45 acp can have similar penetration.
@esh325 I think you missed the point. 9x19 has a tendency to over penetrate. 45acp tends to stop in the first body it hits delivering all of its energy there. For home defense you do NOT want the bullet to go through the target body through a wall and into another room. 9mm almost all ways passes though a person if they are unarmored and they are the first thing the bullet hits. .45acp has more potential to incapacitate in less shots with less collateral in typical home defense situations.
@Pooshooter5k Look at the gelatin tests and the .45 acp and 9mm have very similar penetration. So they have roughly the same chance of leaving the body. Energy dump is thought to be a myth by many experts. A bullet that passes through somebody doesn't mean it's necessarily less lethal. A .50 caliber has more chance of going right through somebody then a .45 acp. Is a .50 caliber less lethal?
@esh325 Why type of .50 are you talking about .50GI 500S&W 50AE? Or are you talking about .50 rifle rounds like the 50Alaskan 50beowulf or 50BMG? The rifle rounds will go through but have so much more energy that they still transfer more to the first target. For pistols all but the .50GI have significantly more energy as well. As far as penetration in Gel I would like to see these test you are talking about. Please give us the link. All the test I have seen show that 9x19 will penetrate more.
@wildbill6976 A shitty Glock? Is there such thing? Aside from Gen 1 and Gen 2 Glocks of course.
I am a huge fan of 1911s, but there are so many out there that some may end up being lemons. Surprisingly, Rock Islands are pretty damn good for the price. On the other end of the Surprising spectrum, those God-awfully expensive Kimbers don't perform as well as a really good Springfield for less money.
Unlike Glocks, which are almost always reliable (gen 3 and above), 1911s can be good or bad.
@TheWitnesserer I think by shitty he means bottom of the line. Not that the Glocks are actually bad just they are are worse then all the other glocks. I agree that your money goes farther and will get you more with 1911s. I like both. I have a 1911 and really want a Glock too.
@Pooshooter5k I've got both a G17 and a G34 in mind. I just can't decide whether I wanna spend the money to get a longer nose or stick with the basic and proven G17. It's just that the trigger on the G34 is so awesome compared to the G17 and I am very biased toward awesome triggers. I mean, the trigger pull, break, and reset doesn't beat the one on my SA Loaded Target (modified of course), but it's still amazing compared to the G17's trigger.
@wildbill6976 Those statements are mostly foolish and false. I can buy a Glock 17 for 510$ where I live. I have 2 Glocks and they are far from being shitty, they work very well. Spare Glock magazine run 10$ on centerfiresystems. The Glock frame does not change color after rapid fire and maintains its integrity through hundreds of thousands of rounds. Glocks are customizeable, but not as much as 1911 I will give you that.
@wildbill6976 You have more chance of getting an unreliable 1911 then a Glock. There are hundreds of manufactuers of 1911 that make them to variable quality and specs. Some cheap, some work very fine. Some are tightened up for accuracy and may not function as well as an original 1911. You have less chance of getting a poorly made Glock as they are only made by one manufactuer and made to the same specs.
and i dont play cod but i also dont know anything about weapons. but i'd rather have a thinner gun that packs a punch. glocks are so ugly plus i dont fancy the striker fire i like the hammer
@shahogner87 yes, single stack 45 much easier to carry on a side rig, double stacks are just too gauky and cumbersome (every double stack beretta I've fired also bad to jam)
I couldn't even finish watching this, but the little that I saw was a total waste of time. I didn't get to the part about magazine capacity but read some of the comments. Like most arguments, there are valid points on both sides. Of course capacity is a factor in a gunfight, and higher capacity is an edge, all other things being equal. However, I have noticed a tendency for those shooting high capacity weapons to be less careful with their shots, almost as though volume will make up for sloppy
Did anyone else notice that the percentage of thumbs up vs thumbs down roughly mirror the percentage of glock owners compared to the rest of the market. (which is probably mostly 1911 owners) :)
The 1911 vs Glock argument will go on for eons, but personally... I stick to my Steel, US made, John Browning designed 1911 that's been around and in service for over 100 years now than some recycled, imported plastic from Austria...
My 1911 was carried up the beaches of France, through the Forests of Germany, across the Pacific Islands, through the Jungles of Korea and Vietnam, and through the desert of the middle east... and it hasn't let anyone down yet... Where's your glock been?
Also, take note that this video compares a full length 1911 to a subcompact glock...
If you want concealment, get a 1911 commander (3.5 - 4 inch vs a full length 5). Practically same length, and although the 1911 is a bit heavier, the slim single stack grip is much more comfortable than the thick plastic grip on a glock when worn on a shoulder rig or paddle holster.
Capacity is meaningless in a handgun (unless your aim just sucks that bad). They're not meant to be fired at random like some haji or thug with ak. Sure, the 9mm holds more... but then again, in many cases it takes more than 1 round to take someone down (9mm's have high deflection). You rarely have that problem with a .45. It's blunt, hits hard, carves a big cavity wound, and will do it through a car door or windshield. 9mm would be lucky to penetrate a single sheet of plywood...
@wildbill6976 If capacity doesn't mean anything, then why has the capacity of firearms kept going up and up? Why didn't we just stick with the single shot flintlock? After all, capacity doesn't matter according to you. And you never miss? Capacity does matter a hell of a lot. Small arms designers aren't morons. There are cases of people surviving many shots of .45 acp. The .45 acp is certainly a very lethal round, but it's not a magical one shot stop death ray.
@TehBloodyYank556 I'd say the last one would run away or surrender after his buddies caught some 230 grainers in the forehead... If not, the extended mag well across his face on my 1911 will take care of him...
1911 always wins PERIOD. Not to mention the 1911's wonderful service and its INCREDIBLE reliability. Sure any bullet would be "painful" to get shot by but the .45 just has way more stopping power than a 9mm.
I like both for what they are, but I prefer the 1911 for most situations at this point. Why? Three reasons. The awesome trigger, the very thin profile which I think makes the 1911 pattern pistols much easier to carry, and the fact that the 1911 is ergonomicallt great and just an easy pistol to shoot well. I find neither design inherently more reliable than the other, with the perceived 'reliability difference' having more to do with the variety of 1911 manufaturers than the design itself.
@1978BHO The Glock has a perfectly usable trigger. A 1911 is thinner, but certainly heavier which isn't ideal for carrying either. Reliability is a hard call. You might have to shoot lots of rounds to see the difference. The 1911 might have more to break on it because it's a more complex handgun.
@esh325 Well, usable and better are too entirely different things. Without question, you will find people who prefer the Glock trigger to that of the 1911, but I'm going to forward the notion that those folks would easily be in the minority. As I said, there are reasons to prefer either, and I am in fact looking at a new Glock 19 right now myself. That said, it won't replace the 1911 in my carry cycle. Just because you prefer one doesn't mean the other is 'bad'.
@1978BHO The 1911 trigger is better no doubt about that, but I can still put the rounds where I want them to with the Glock. The 1911 is a great handgun that is a reliable, but I think the Glock is a bit more reliable out of the box.
I love 1911, but glock is the way to go, more caliber choices, better realiablity, higher mag capacity, easier to take apart and clean, more simple to operate and almost every law enforcement officer carries one, so there you go :)
as much as i hate to say this the glock is better. 1911's jam too much whereas glocks rarely jam. the glock is also lighter, holds more rounds, and is more accurate
lMAO....................STILL LMAO.......THESE COMMENTS ARE SERIOUSLY HILLARIOUS........IN RODNEY KINGS VOICE AFTER HIS ASS WHIPPIN(CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG).
I want colt to make one polymer 1911 and sell it to me..I want glock to make one beautiful all steel blued glock and sell it to me...What would be the collector value on my two handguns ? hahaha
I made up a formula to compare the total muzzle engergy of my handguns without reloading the gun...Example ;;my smith 44 mag shoots bullets that I handload to 1000 foot pounds of ME,it holds 6 rounds so the total is 6000 lbs of muzzel energy..My glock 19 would be 15 x 400 = 6000 lbs. A 1911 would be 550 x 8 = 4400,,My .380 would be 200 x 8 = 1600 lbs.does this make any sense to anyone ??fn,fal in 30;06,,3000x20=60,000 wow, thats what IM fighten with, lol.
you kinda suck at life..i don't know a 1911 that don't beat a glock 1911s been around for over 100 year and are gonna be around for years to come and yet you used a full size 1911 and a compact glock and forgot to talk about what matters like sights which suck on glocks or beveled magazine well, extended thumb safety, beavertail grip safety which are on 90% of 1911 or where the safety are and how the gun feels or shoots and 2in makes a big difference . not trying to talk shit but you suck
@MrMikey1013 I don't own a Glock, but I have fired one . The sights are perfectly usable to me. The Glock doesn't need the unnecessary frills that you speak of.
19 vs 1911 - NO COMPARISON. Different purposes. HOWEVER, they accomplish the same goal. YOU are a TOOL designed to take a dildo, roughly the size of your fist, and thrust it in your ass at a high rate of speed.
@omar851000 you can get different magazines for it, all the way up to a drum style. There are some good 10 round combat mags out there, but being a single stack the space is taken up rather quick.
I know that the 1911 might be "much, much larger" for pistol size, but don't you think that was a little excessive since the only thing that looks bigger in the video are the barrel & slide? :P
good video. The only thing I missed is that you didn't discuss the fact the 1911 has a thumb safety and the Glock doesn't. Some like them, others don't, but might be a consideration either way. Good job though.
i shot a glock a week ago, when i look at the colt i see the difference, the colt has a more difined barrel, the glock is more square like and it doesn't have the flint thing, it was really fun shooting it, really loud, but still, awsome
Thats why I bought the glock 17, full size 9mm. More ammo capacity and feels waaay more comfortable in my hand. Not bashing the 19 at all, just preference.
If you get shot..you fuckin get shot dont matter what caliber. It will not feel good either. I heard it feels like something stuck inside your body that is burning.
@lambdog76 do you realy understand why you think everyone is saying this video is a piece of shit? because you have no idea of what you are talking about and erasing this video would be the best thing for you because anyone whatching this video will turn into asswholes cause your logic of the (nail) is so far out there we might think you smoked some crack before hitting the record button!!! video is stupid!!!
@jbrookise004 people who comment on youtube vids about caliber and being harmed in general have no idea or perspective about pain or incapacitation for that matter. How would you choose to describe being shot or stabbed to someone who operates solely on second hand knowledge? In the vid I was trying to point out that at the end of the day, both go bang and put holes in shit, plain and simple. The rest is just conjecture.
@lambdog76 you loose everyone at the nail!!! read the rest of the other comments!!! im not standing alone when i say this!!! YOUR FUCKING WRONG!!! the video is so far out there is stupid to think people really believe this crap! .....next time you make a video make sure its to the point and leave the other bullshit conjecture out of it and maybe you wont get so manny people(asswhole) as you call them harp on your video!
@jbrookise004 I have 310 videos and I made this one what is it? almost 2 years ago. Why are you so mad? Is it the number of views on the video you have a problem with?
@jbrookise004 besides as you probably didn't notice, some people like the vid and some don't. should your opinion hold more sway? If this video wasn't for you, then it wasn't for you, just get over it and move along.
@lambdog76 i have moved along, just that your understanding od a 9mm to a nail is what gets me and that if i shoot you with a 9mm ill kill you? maybe..? hahaha we all laughed at you when you said that! your an idiot....
@jbrookise004 from your comments you have neither been shot nor carried a gun for a living, so you will have to excuse me taking your opinion with a grain of salt.
@lambdog76 oooo im sorry should i have told you that i was in the military for 6 yeas before i got shot by a 9mm!! but that i almost lost my life!! im sorry i didnt tell you cause really it aint your fucking bisness, and the fact that i carried guns for work and that i still do everyday when i leave the house theres a gun on myside and to tell you the truth its no fucking 9mm. yeah dont tell me i dont carry a gun for work pal. your just some weekend worrior thinks he is some big shot worrior...
@lambdog76 it dam sure didnt feel like a nail!!! i was running and felt something burning in my back the heat in my shoulderblade was unforgiving, if it was a 45 i would be on my face and would have died right there but those ragg heads dont shoot 45's its either ak or 9mm's but i do think if they shot nails it would deff put more fear in us all instead of a 9mm
@jbrookise004 so a 9 made it through your sapi plate? Nerve overload and hydrostatic shock effects people differently. Please don't tell me that your whole point was against me saying it is fine to have a G19 for work.
@lambdog76 it didnt hit me directly from behind it was from the side and to tell you the truth if i carried a 22cal.. i would be fine with that cause ammo is what saved my life and lots of it. i had 40cal..9mm i shot at people and over time one shot of either will stop someone in there tracks, now im not saying that to the people on crack or a drug but in that case a 45 works well...but no getting shot by a 9mm is not like a nail...thats the point
@lambdog76 you cant!!! but you cant explain it by a nail because who do you know that got shot by a nail? a nail isnt hot like a bullet its cold, a bullet hits you and then burns you like your on fire, a nail doesnt do that, but trying to explain that to people that are tree huggers or weekend worriors they just understand. and a bullet isnt a nail at all...well try explainging it by saying, if you get shot , you will die, and it hurts..better yet stick your hand in a fire but with out the
@jbrookise004 melting of the skin, the pain you feel, the hot bullet , i didnt care what was going on around me at that time, all i cared about was tring to get that bullets out of me cause it burned so dam bad!
@HeroicMidget1 you're kidding. you have to be retarded to make a comment like that. I'm all for a .45, but a 9mm will incapacitate a target easily, while reducing damage to innocent people behind the target.
Trying sound all sophisticated and smart by saying they all do one purpose and serve as tools. Bitch what else gun suppose to do you really gotta repeat that 5 times in your video or something. You're dumb and useless and don't know anything that's what I got from this vid

rockhound694u 2 weeks ago
To make it a fair review, you have to review a .45 glock (i.e. G21) against the .45 caliber 1911. Because .45 always beats 9mm imo.

So learn how to shoot what you have well & stop making excuses for bad marksmanship by comparing micro differences in one firearm against another. That's my point.

MonsterBNH 2 months ago
I keep reading the term, "all things being equal". The fact is that all things are not equal. They never are. Your training is ten times more important than the gun you carry. This is the main reason why the media & the feds are so up our butts about gun ownership. Many gun enthusiasts just want to carry, they don't want to be responsible & train hard. With that said, yes of course there are some advantages to one gun over another. But so what? Poison darts will do the same job with training.
MrThedocholiday 2 months ago
@MrThedocholiday I recall story about a Dutch army general telling the story about how his grandfather was an excellent marksman and joined the Dutch army during WW2. He saw German soldiers marching and attempting to fire his rifle at them, but nothing but a puff of a smoke came out and the Germans were still marching. It didn't make a difference that he was an excellent marksman, his rifle was old.
esh325 2 months ago
@esh325 yes, a story. Let me tell you a story. I once prepared a simple boxing combo against a couple fellow martial arts students who were much better than myself. I had absolutely no boxing experience & had also changed my stance from right to southpaw just for this combo of strikes. I had a strategy that I trained with for about two weeks. When I got a chance to spar against my better oponents, I clocked them so bad they had to stop the sparing & get checked out. Training is the best strategy
MrThedocholiday 2 months ago
@MrThedocholiday You weren't going up against men with guns though.
esh325 2 months ago
@esh325 yes, but in this video we're talking about two guns that basically do the same thing, not one guy with a fist & another with a gun. Do you understand what a principle is? When you consider a principle, you compare it to nearly equal specs, not apples & oranges. That is exactly my point. These are both guns that shoot well, though slightly different compared to a piece of junk that won't fire. Training can by far outclass the difference between similar weapons. So train...
MrThedocholiday 2 months ago
@MrThedocholiday So I think having a good gun and competent are both equally important. One can't succeed without the other.
esh325 2 months ago
For those who can't afford more than 1 gun, learn how to master that 1 model in spite of it's inherent flaws. Speed, accuracy & success at getting the job done is so much less a matter of the gun then it is a matter of your training. The proof of that is people who have mastered all different types of weapons with deadly accuracy & speed. But it's easier to sit around being lazy, crying about a problem, than it is to get up & train like a soldier. No guts, no forward progress, no glory.
MrThedocholiday 2 months ago
He makes a good point. Each gun is different & has it's good & bad qualities. So learn how to master multiple types of firearms & the problem with incovenience is solved. The whyning & bickering about which is best is put to sleep along with all the high maintenance babies who only know how to shoot their favorite spit wad. Grow up, train like a man & be responsible. We should be so fortunate as to still be able to own or carry any kind of weapon to protect ourselves in this country.
MrThedocholiday 2 months ago

Love both guns and u people need to stop the childish 1911 vs the world horseshit.

what do you mean "a projectile ROUGHLY the size of this?" thats the EXACT size!! dumbass
zombiefighter321 2 months ago
1911s are better both in my opinion and experience. that said, Glock is a formidable opponent but the only ways in which it really rivals the 1911 are in draw speed, weight and ammunition capacity.
and really you can draw a 1911 fast with training. if the 1911 is too heavy, lift weights. if ammo capacity is a problem, learn to aim.
the 1911 was also made long before polymer was ever conceived and before they had cad/cam. it worked for 100 years and still going so its good enuf for me
lethalweapon129 2 months ago
@lethalweapon129 A 1911 is not heavy by itself, but when you throw in gear belt,a long with extra magazines, and other items, you'll see the advantage of a lighter gun. Everybody misses, this is a fact. Especially in stressful situations. Having more rounds is an advantage. In police gun battles, you rarely hear of them shooting seven rounds and calling it a day.
esh325 2 months ago
@esh325 My uncle carried a 1911 and a bunch of gear in Vietnam no problem. Didn't need any of that plastic stuff then. I'm sure it's a great gun that does its job well, but the 1911 is just better.
lethalweapon129 2 months ago
@lethalweapon129 A 1911 is going to weight about 1 pound more fully loaded then a Glock. You will feel that 1 pound difference. It's not going anywhere. The 1911 being better is nothing but an opinion. Just like the Glock being better is nothing but an opinion.
esh325 2 months ago
@esh325 Wow one pound. Maybe you should hit the weight room more.

brooklynking88 2 months ago
A 1911 is more accurate than any polymer pistol, yes it's a pound heavier but really a pound and everyone cries? Guess that's y they made a 9mm for cry babies who can't handle a 45, either way I own both and both shoot great but a 1911 has that bigger 45
regret92 3 months ago
@regret92 How does being a polymer frame mean it's less accurate? Have you fired EVERY single polymer framed handgun out there to come to that conclusion? It sounds like a baseless assumption to me. A pound is a lot when you're carrying additional magazines, and other equipment. And having to carry it all around day. The 9mm came about before the .45 acp. They make a Glock in .45. I have one, it's called a Glock 21.

The 1911 bore height looked higher than the Glocks. Funny, since the 1911 seems to be the standard other pistol makers tend to model their guns after. The Glock is just an all around sweet pistol!

There is no denying the stopping power of the 1911, however the consistency of the Glock is a plus.
Test4champ 3 months ago
45acp delivers more energy with less penetration this is desirable for most common self defense scenarios.
Pooshooter5k 3 months ago
@Pooshooter5k Certain loads of 9mm can deliver near the same amount of energy. In many gelatin tests with JHP's, the 9mm and .45 acp can have similar penetration.
esh325 3 months ago
@esh325 I think you missed the point. 9x19 has a tendency to over penetrate. 45acp tends to stop in the first body it hits delivering all of its energy there. For home defense you do NOT want the bullet to go through the target body through a wall and into another room. 9mm almost all ways passes though a person if they are unarmored and they are the first thing the bullet hits. .45acp has more potential to incapacitate in less shots with less collateral in typical home defense situations.
Pooshooter5k 3 months ago
@Pooshooter5k Look at the gelatin tests and the .45 acp and 9mm have very similar penetration. So they have roughly the same chance of leaving the body. Energy dump is thought to be a myth by many experts. A bullet that passes through somebody doesn't mean it's necessarily less lethal. A .50 caliber has more chance of going right through somebody then a .45 acp. Is a .50 caliber less lethal?
esh325 3 months ago
@esh325 Why type of .50 are you talking about .50GI 500S&W 50AE? Or are you talking about .50 rifle rounds like the 50Alaskan 50beowulf or 50BMG? The rifle rounds will go through but have so much more energy that they still transfer more to the first target. For pistols all but the .50GI have significantly more energy as well. As far as penetration in Gel I would like to see these test you are talking about. Please give us the link. All the test I have seen show that 9x19 will penetrate more.

L4Pu3nT3 3 months ago
Not to mention the price difference... a good 1911 will only run you around $400-500; a shitty glock will run $600-700
Magazines, $5-10 for 1911; $25+ for a glock
1911's are highly customizable (parts aren't that high either), glocks...aren't.
Gun Metal doesn't expand and contract with varying temperatures... Plastic does... (and changes color after 2-3 rapid clips too...)
wildbill6976 3 months ago
@wildbill6976 A shitty Glock? Is there such thing? Aside from Gen 1 and Gen 2 Glocks of course.
I am a huge fan of 1911s, but there are so many out there that some may end up being lemons. Surprisingly, Rock Islands are pretty damn good for the price. On the other end of the Surprising spectrum, those God-awfully expensive Kimbers don't perform as well as a really good Springfield for less money.
Unlike Glocks, which are almost always reliable (gen 3 and above), 1911s can be good or bad.
TheWitnesserer 3 months ago
@TheWitnesserer I think by shitty he means bottom of the line. Not that the Glocks are actually bad just they are are worse then all the other glocks. I agree that your money goes farther and will get you more with 1911s. I like both. I have a 1911 and really want a Glock too.
Pooshooter5k 3 months ago
@Pooshooter5k I've got both a G17 and a G34 in mind. I just can't decide whether I wanna spend the money to get a longer nose or stick with the basic and proven G17. It's just that the trigger on the G34 is so awesome compared to the G17 and I am very biased toward awesome triggers. I mean, the trigger pull, break, and reset doesn't beat the one on my SA Loaded Target (modified of course), but it's still amazing compared to the G17's trigger.
TheWitnesserer 3 months ago
@wildbill6976 Those statements are mostly foolish and false. I can buy a Glock 17 for 510$ where I live. I have 2 Glocks and they are far from being shitty, they work very well. Spare Glock magazine run 10$ on centerfiresystems. The Glock frame does not change color after rapid fire and maintains its integrity through hundreds of thousands of rounds. Glocks are customizeable, but not as much as 1911 I will give you that.
esh325 3 months ago
@wildbill6976 You have more chance of getting an unreliable 1911 then a Glock. There are hundreds of manufactuers of 1911 that make them to variable quality and specs. Some cheap, some work very fine. Some are tightened up for accuracy and may not function as well as an original 1911. You have less chance of getting a poorly made Glock as they are only made by one manufactuer and made to the same specs.
esh325 3 months ago
I think that the 1911's much cooler and better.

@wildbill6976 The Glock has seen combat in Iraq and Israel, and many other places. The Glock is well proven.
esh325 4 months ago
Also, take note that this video compares a full length 1911 to a subcompact glock...
If you want concealment, get a 1911 commander (3.5 - 4 inch vs a full length 5). Practically same length, and although the 1911 is a bit heavier, the slim single stack grip is much more comfortable than the thick plastic grip on a glock when worn on a shoulder rig or paddle holster.
wildbill6976 4 months ago
Capacity is meaningless in a handgun (unless your aim just sucks that bad). They're not meant to be fired at random like some haji or thug with ak. Sure, the 9mm holds more... but then again, in many cases it takes more than 1 round to take someone down (9mm's have high deflection). You rarely have that problem with a .45. It's blunt, hits hard, carves a big cavity wound, and will do it through a car door or windshield. 9mm would be lucky to penetrate a single sheet of plywood...
wildbill6976 4 months ago
@wildbill6976 If capacity doesn't mean anything, then why has the capacity of firearms kept going up and up? Why didn't we just stick with the single shot flintlock? After all, capacity doesn't matter according to you. And you never miss? Capacity does matter a hell of a lot. Small arms designers aren't morons. There are cases of people surviving many shots of .45 acp. The .45 acp is certainly a very lethal round, but it's not a magical one shot stop death ray.
esh325 4 months ago
@wildbill6976 And they make the Glock 21 in . 45 acp. Holds 13 rounds. Only doublestack 1911's hold that much.

Well happy 100th birthday colt1911!
I think the 1911 has greater stoppinh power
than the glock becuase the 45apc or 45 slug is a bigger roind than the 9mm. But the glock can fire off more rounds than the 1911
beace of less recoil. Also both are reliable and have good sights.oh and because of rhe smaller round the glock has bigger mag size.

wesandjaws10 7 months ago
1911 always wins PERIOD. Not to mention the 1911's wonderful service and its INCREDIBLE reliability. Sure any bullet would be "painful" to get shot by but the .45 just has way more stopping power than a 9mm.
xBourneKiLLAx 7 months ago
I like both for what they are, but I prefer the 1911 for most situations at this point. Why? Three reasons. The awesome trigger, the very thin profile which I think makes the 1911 pattern pistols much easier to carry, and the fact that the 1911 is ergonomicallt great and just an easy pistol to shoot well. I find neither design inherently more reliable than the other, with the perceived 'reliability difference' having more to do with the variety of 1911 manufaturers than the design itself.
1978BHO 7 months ago
@1978BHO The Glock has a perfectly usable trigger. A 1911 is thinner, but certainly heavier which isn't ideal for carrying either. Reliability is a hard call. You might have to shoot lots of rounds to see the difference. The 1911 might have more to break on it because it's a more complex handgun.
esh325 7 months ago
@esh325 Well, usable and better are too entirely different things. Without question, you will find people who prefer the Glock trigger to that of the 1911, but I'm going to forward the notion that those folks would easily be in the minority. As I said, there are reasons to prefer either, and I am in fact looking at a new Glock 19 right now myself. That said, it won't replace the 1911 in my carry cycle. Just because you prefer one doesn't mean the other is 'bad'.
1978BHO 7 months ago
@1978BHO The 1911 trigger is better no doubt about that, but I can still put the rounds where I want them to with the Glock. The 1911 is a great handgun that is a reliable, but I think the Glock is a bit more reliable out of the box.
esh325 7 months ago
I love 1911, but glock is the way to go, more caliber choices, better realiablity, higher mag capacity, easier to take apart and clean, more simple to operate and almost every law enforcement officer carries one, so there you go :)

@lambdog76 do you realy understand why you think everyone is saying this video is a piece of shit? because you have no idea of what you are talking about and erasing this video would be the best thing for you because anyone whatching this video will turn into asswholes cause your logic of the (nail) is so far out there we might think you smoked some crack before hitting the record button!!! video is stupid!!!
jbrookise004 1 year ago

Is it the number of views on the video you have a problem with?
lambdog76 1 year ago
@jbrookise004 besides as you probably didn't notice, some people like the vid and some don't. should your opinion hold more sway? If this video wasn't for you, then it wasn't for you, just get over it and move along.
lambdog76 1 year ago
@lambdog76 i have moved along, just that your understanding od a 9mm to a nail is what gets me and that if i shoot you with a 9mm ill kill you? maybe..? hahaha we all laughed at you when you said that! your an idiot....
jbrookise004 1 year ago
@jbrookise004 from your comments you have neither been shot nor carried a gun for a living, so you will have to excuse me taking your opinion with a grain of salt.
lambdog76 1 year ago
@lambdog76 oooo im sorry should i have told you that i was in the military for 6 yeas before i got shot by a 9mm!! but that i almost lost my life!! im sorry i didnt tell you cause really it aint your fucking bisness, and the fact that i carried guns for work and that i still do everyday when i leave the house theres a gun on myside and to tell you the truth its no fucking 9mm. yeah dont tell me i dont carry a gun for work pal. your just some weekend worrior thinks he is some big shot worrior...
jbrookise004 1 year ago
@jbrookise004 tell me then, in your opinion, what did it feel like?
lambdog76 1 year ago
@lambdog76 it dam sure didnt feel like a nail!!! i was running and felt something burning in my back the heat in my shoulderblade was unforgiving, if it was a 45 i would be on my face and would have died right there but those ragg heads dont shoot 45's its either ak or 9mm's but i do think if they shot nails it would deff put more fear in us all instead of a 9mm
jbrookise004 1 year ago
@jbrookise004 so a 9 made it through your sapi plate? Nerve overload and hydrostatic shock effects people differently. Please don't tell me that your whole point was against me saying it is fine to have a G19 for work.
lambdog76 1 year ago
@lambdog76 it didnt hit me directly from behind it was from the side and to tell you the truth if i carried a 22cal.. i would be fine with that cause ammo is what saved my life and lots of it. i had 40cal..9mm i shot at people and over time one shot of either will stop someone in there tracks, now im not saying that to the people on crack or a drug but in that case a 45 works well...but no getting shot by a 9mm is not like a nail...thats the point
jbrookise004 1 year ago
@jbrookise004 I see the pain as like stepping on an ice cold nail... But how do you describe pain to those who haven't felt it?
lambdog76 1 year ago
@lambdog76 you cant!!! but you cant explain it by a nail because who do you know that got shot by a nail? a nail isnt hot like a bullet its cold, a bullet hits you and then burns you like your on fire, a nail doesnt do that, but trying to explain that to people that are tree huggers or weekend worriors they just understand. and a bullet isnt a nail at all...well try explainging it by saying, if you get shot , you will die, and it hurts..better yet stick your hand in a fire but with out the
jbrookise004 1 year ago
@jbrookise004 melting of the skin, the pain you feel, the hot bullet , i didnt care what was going on around me at that time, all i cared about was tring to get that bullets out of me cause it burned so dam bad!
jbrookise004 1 year ago
9mm can't stop shit...it will kill u...maybe....
HeroicMidget1 1 year ago
@HeroicMidget1 you're kidding. you have to be retarded to make a comment like that. I'm all for a .45, but a 9mm will incapacitate a target easily, while reducing damage to innocent people behind the target.
