How come 3D movies look like the images pop OUT of the screen, whereas with the 3ds, it looks more like a viewing box (not sure how to call it in english haha "kijkdoos")

....Im not really a science geek and I don't really have the time or energy to go into it too deep, but I just noticed, might it be the distance between the filter and your eyes that make the 3ds look like a tiny window to another world?

What the 3DS does is: there are 2 images merged together into one, base screen with VERY tiny lines, each line of it follows the other side's line on the base screen (line of left, line of right, then again left, right and so on...), while in the front of them there is a blocking thing that is so microscopic it just blocks the other line in the other eye like its "moving", and since it blocks the part the eye should not see,it blocks other pictures in the other eye and so we see 3D on the screen

So, when we see 3d by glasses - we get 2 colors, each one blocking the same colour allowing each eye to see only one "colour".

However, In a 3D TV (i don't have one), the image changes from left to right supposed side REALLY fast on the screen, while the glasses seperately "blink" thus blocking each 2nd\1st out of 2 frames (according to the left\right glass), and we see 3D Images because it goes REALLY fast and our eyes can't "switch" images that fast.

@smackknot 14 million sold worldwide, not a success? Mario kart 7 and Mario 3D Land did wonders for Nintendo's 3D machine during the holidays. The 3DS will do fine. It's foolish to presume the lifetime success of a product based solely on it's first few months.

to me the AR games and face raiders blew my mind but thats because I never heard of AR things before but its amazed me

I saw one on display in a shop and was able to play on it. It was cool though to be honest the only reason I'd buy it is for the few good games they are bringing out on it. I value gameplay more since there are few NDS games that are good. I found most games to be expensive and cheeply made.

speeaking about paralax 3d ,it,s absolutely awesome cuzz you do,nt need glasses, it,s looks like you are watching trough a real windown,but what if you want to make a movie wich is based on horizontal and vertical paralax 3d with 180 dagree each side, that means that you need 360 cameras for shooting 1 picture from each side,since a movie is 24fps,you need to shoot 8640fps from all directions,that,s extreamly expansive,a camera wich can switch alternately fast in all directions can reduce costs.

@Gallardoooful Try having someone throw a frisbee or something at you and try to catch it, while only having one eye open. It's not impossible, but its still much harder. When you only have one eye open its like playing a 3D game (not movie 3D I mean like Super Mario 64 3D with a "3D" environment), you can still tell what's behind or in front of what, but you aren't actually seeing in 3D. Just like how in Super Mario 64 Mario isn't actually running forward and back inside your TV.
