Heh, after looking at these guys moaning, its easy to forget that modern armies do the exact same thing as Romans did: extreme discipline, training and practice all the time. After all, these weren't just warriors, but actual soldiers-no different from a modern soldier in the mindset and purpose.
Is it just me, or does anyone else get kinda amused when Dave Michaels is all "aw yeah, I like that name!" when the host introduces him with a Latin name?
Btw he was subtimius severus son and i accidently said his last was subtimius iys actually serverus that was sorta fail before any way he gave slaves equal rights as roman citizen just they were owned by someone
visited italy a few years ago. love the country, sad it's governed by a corrupt ass. rome was beautiful, I could spend a lifetime in forum romanum.. get to visit it again :) walk where giants walked
@MooseHunter911 i visited there a few years ago as well, it was great! the people were actually quite friendly. i didnt really see much roman culture there, just busy ass cities and such
I would love to buy a roman armor and walk around with that shit in my town. I would either command supreme authority or gay guys would flirt with me because of the short shorts.
@adaptation97 Research how to make the lorica yourself. It's perhaps one of the easiest types of steel armour to make. Enjoy. (I recommend the Newstead type).
is it just me, or was that a Pompeii Gladius that he introduced as a Gladius Hispanensis? The Gladius Hispanensis was an earlier design that was borrowed from the La Tene Gauls. It featured a wasp-waist and a more gently curving point. The Pompeii Gladius is the one with the parallel sides and the more angular tip.
I remember in highschool I had the oppurtunity to visit the fortress of Massada in Israel. Looking down from the fortress you can actually see the remains of the Roman camps where they where carved out.

@adaptation97 May I suggest realarmorofgod(dot)com? A fine site, if I may say so. You can buy battle-ready swords and armour there.
