  • Yeah, come on guy. If you are gonna post stuff to help people, at least keep safety first. Us a floor jack AND a back up. I was cringing every time I saw your legs under that thing with that little girls car jack holding it up. Do you know how much that front end weighs and what would happen to your leg should it collapse on you. Oh man. Prevention is paramount. And as others mentioned, a torque wrench should be used. 175 lbs is difficult to guess without one.

  • Saving me money. Thanks

  • Thanks now i know what todo even if my jeep is a wj its seam identical

  • He says "I hung the brake caliper with some zip ties to not damage the hose", then he cuts the zip ties and lets it hang by the hose! Classic.

  • This guy knows just enough to be dangerous. A framing hammer, seriously? And all parts to be reused should be cleaned before reassembly. Also, the center nut is supposed to be torqued to 175 ft-lbs. And, like many people have mentioned, the bottle jack is just asking for trouble.

  • very much appreciate this help. eases my mind that i can do it myself...... thanks.

  • This was very helpful. I heard a rattling noise in my front end and bought new brake pads. When I got the wheel off I seen where the noise was really coming from.

I was going to take it to be repaired until I heard the cost. I just looked up the axle on google search and your video came up.

I didn't know you could buy the whole piece assembled. You just saved me money and headaches.

  • Those chemicals you put your hands in aren't very friendly to your health. Nice information thanks but geez man wear some gloves.

  • Great thanks

  • Hub to knuckle torque is 102 Nm or 75 ft. lbs.

Hub nut torque is 237 Nm or 175 ft .lbs.

Brake caliper bolts 10-20 Nm or 7-15 ft. lbs.

  • In case you didn't catch that...

Hub nut is 36 mm or 1 3/8 in.

  • does anyone know if this is about the same procedure on a 00(wj) cherokee?

  • @jaredman67 cherokee's are xj's. grand cherokee's totally different vehicles.
