SEE HOW THE AIRLINE WANTS TO BLAME THE CRASH ON SOMETHING ELSE,LIKE THE"F 16",THEY ALWAYS DO THAT,THOSE SUCKERS,NO BALLS TO TAKE THE BLAME ON BAD MAINTENANCE!!!!!LOKK AT AIR-FRANCE 447!!!SAME SHIT!!!!DISGUSTING!!
@hctee One of the other episodes showed the same thing, they said that it is a precautionary measure so that if the pilot has a heart attack or something similar then the co-pilot's hand will stop the pilots hand from pulling the throttle back suddenly... also if it is a rough take-off then this helps having 2 hands.
@hctee & @akienwareguy They mentioned this on another one of these programs (AA Flt. 191 I think) and it seemed like it was just a matter of tradition, like a camaraderie in the cockpit sort of thing.
@hctee this is in case one of the pilots hand slips and on a multi-engine plane, this can lead to accidental push one throttle to far forward and not the other one. look up "asymmetrical thrust" to see why on take off that would be bad..
Yes he is the usual narrator on Discovery in North America. Different countries have their own narrators. I think this guy is the best. Much better than the English guy.
Is it me, or did they use a different narrator than usual for this episode? His voice sound similar to the usual narrator, but slightly different somehow.
being a Brit . i prefer the British narrators voice. but its a good series and the

why do both pilots have to push the throttle forward? or at least, one of them does it and one of them seems to cover it, ready to do something.

I think that this episode is from The Discovery channel. I guess they have a different narrator.

Could be, but I've heard other episodes on the channel and they had the old narrator. Weird. :o
