I do agree, that Jackson's songs were overrated. I was a Jazz fanatic, and still am.  Miles Davis is more the musician Jackson or Quincy Jones ever was, as was Ray Charles, may they all rest in peace.

Well, as much of a fan of Reggae as you seem to be, I would hope to imagine that you could take a more historical account of Michael Jackson's music into consideration.

I did like the Thriller album, NOT because it was Michael per se, NOT because MTV blasted it all over the place (I didn't HAVE MTV back then), but because the QUALITY of the music within reflected that certain sound of his, from the musical arrangements to the vocal arrangements.

Taking into account Michael Jackson's upbringing, I'm not shocked at the way he turned out. I can't call him a freak since he was just a product of his environment.
