I loved Brenda's speech at the end about never feeling at home with anyone except Sonny. Take that Brenda and Jax fans. It was, is, and always will be Sonny for Brenda. They need to get an expert lighting person. When Vanessa was on the show before, the lighting used to be so perfect. Her skin would always look amazing and there were no shadows on any faces. Now the lighting makes the actors look worse than their skin really is. I mean come on, this is national tv, not a home video!!

@starnessy007 I soooo agreee. When they were sitting at the table the straight on shots you could see VMs face and she looked nice. Then they go upstairs and they are shooting them from the side and half her face looks dark and the other is lighted. In other scenes here hair is causing a shadow. I guess budget contrainst you cant get the best lighting and camera crew

@starnessy007 I believe that vanessa is showing brenda's nervousness in opening her heart to sonny again since she has been hurt before when their relationship ended. Also, VM and MB are pretty good actors because at one point they are literally in each other's personal space saying their lines as if they are really in love.

@starnessy007 Vanessa is displaying her character's nervousness. You have to keep in mind Brenda is taking a huge leap of faith to try again with Sonny. She is really scared so I think she is playing this part very well. They still have love in their eyes after all these years. They are right up in each other's face talking to each other. Who does that on soaps nowadays? Incredible acting from VM and MB.

@ani3mal Yes they act better than any other soap stars nowadays, but I guess you haven't seem them act before. I know what they're capable of. Now they roll their eyes, Vanessa speeds through her lines mumbling under her breath, and it just doesn't seem serious enough. They've always been so serious before that it kills the aura they are known for creating.

@starnessy007 Actually I have seen most of their old clips and I know what you are talking about But you have to remember VM is getting used to the pace nowadays on soaps. They have to learn 2-3xmore lines than before because they shoot 3-4 days in one day. She even said in her recent interview, tells Maurice, Laura, and Steve that she doesn't know how they do it. I'm going to give her some slack. She's doing a great job considering!!!! She'll get it eventually!!!

@starnessy007 True, the intense "aura" is not there, however, that has more to do with the writing. SnB has ALWAYS been about fighting their feelings for each other. It started because everyone kept warning Brenda that Sonny was dangerous, so of course, she flirted with him. Then Sonny was fighting that he was falling in love with her. Then she was fighting the realization that she loved him despite him being a mobster. Then Sonny fighting his feelings for her when he was jealous of Miguel...

@starnessy007 Then the Lily mess and Sonny trying to deny still loving Brenda, then Brenda denying loving Sonny when she is with Jax, and on and on. Their chemistry them trying to hide what everyone could clearly see they still felt for each other. So when they did give in and connect (outside Luke's, in the ski cabin, in the cave, etc), it was fireworks. Now, there are no real obstacles and they are both admitting they want to be with each other, so it is a lot less intense, but still good :-)
