Very clever. I'm not sure it could become very popular though, it's important to know that most guitarists want to show off (that's why they took up guitar in the first place), and that is achieved through finger dexterity, that is at least as important as the actual sound produced by the guitar. This just looks too easy, I know it sounds foolish but sadly it's true.
