  • psst...Rosita

  • SHAAUUU THIS IS A FIRME ROLITA

  • this some good music

  • this is the shit right here!!

  • Such a classic unique sound that could

only be the Stairsteps. They had that

"special something" that so many groups

    lacked.

  • Beautiful...

  • Everyone Clarence and hopefully a few other members will be part of the 5th Annual Classic R&B Weekend in The Poconos (Pa.) at Fernwood Hotel and Resort November 11-13, 2011 along with The Dramatics, Atlantic Starr, Blue Magic, Slave, and D-Train. A full weekend of entertainment with the big concert on Saturday November 12, 2011.

  • My, My, My,

  • Wow. Great family harmony. Reminds me of something Smokey might have produced. It has that Wm. Robinson "feel" to it. Real music. Too bad some of the people who are called artists today aren't. Some of them are the most non talented no way can they sing bores ever to hit the stage.

  • @blewis9505 I think the Five Stairsteps are actually proteges of the brilliant Curtis Mayfield. They are clean, tight, soulful, and well produced. IMO they compare favorably to the J-5 in terms of talent and sophistication of their arrangements. It's great to see producers and writers like Curtis Mayfield let the personality and signature of capable artists shine through their arrangements. I am grateful to access this on YouTube so I can program instead of being programmed, if ya read me.

  • @drjimiboy69 Yes, I read you loud and clear. Couldn't agree more!

  • yeah nice

  • Lead singer had a great voice...

  • Wow, this is a bad ass jam! Just slow dancing with my heyna.

  • Trippin' down memory lane.

  • Turn off the lights, crew in the red or blue lights in the basement...grab your girl, and grin your but off...WOW!!! what memories...Thank you Stairsteps, and the many groups like you.....In those days it was all about LOVE!

  • HEY distantlovr I AM ACTUALLY THE FIRST COUSIN OF THE STAIRSTEPS ON THEIR MOMS SIDE. THEIR MOM AND MINE ARE SISTERS. AS YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW KENI BURKE IS STILL WRITING PRODUCING AND SINGING, AS WELL AS DOING MANY PERFOMANCES MAINLY OVERSEAS IN LONDON AND VARIOUS PARTS OF EUROPE. CLARENCE HAS BEEN TOURING WITH HIS BAND DOING GIGS ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD AND IS TRYING TO MAKE HIS WAY TOWARD THE MIDWESTERN STATES TO HIS HOMETOWN OF CHICAGO IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

  • "Where have you gone now"? I used to love hanging out with the Stairsteps! I can still hear Papa Burke saying, "They are in with their tutor and they will be another 15 minutes"! The 5 Stairsteps & Cubie. I had so much fun with them and their fan Club President Crystal Wilson of the Bronx, NY. Crystal and her mom Ann Wilson were so nice to us giving us a safe place to place to play music and hang out. That's why I started the 1st NY Jackson 5 fan club. I also had a secret crush on Dennis Burke!

  • When the Stairsteps, lead and background, so beautifully and breathtakingly harmonize "to-o meeeee," it's like an epiphany and I realize why we have language after all, and suddenly language just finally makes sense...to-o meeeee. I mean, it's like this is why we speak let alone sing!

  • They were at the top of the Chicago Soul roster, right up there with the Impressions--

  • I can die now after listening to this shit...4realz

  • This tune peaked at Number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100 in late 1966-

  • @christheone8773 DID IT EVER HIT NUMBER 1?

  • @philburrell NOT on the R and B charts, where it stopped at Number 15-

  • @christheone8773 it hit #1 with my heart........

  • @philburrell as I am sure it did with everyone - this family had some really great harmonies-
