  • I've always wondered whether or not this was live or dubbed. The giveaway is the slightly staggered opening and closing hi-hat pattern, which was actually dubbed on top of the original drum track on Sing mit 6. This same track was also dubbed onto footage of the Last band playing at one of their legendary Sing mit parties in Hamburg.

  • You are not the first to say this - but if you play Sing Mit 6, it sounds strangely the same. I wonder .........

  • Its the only songmedley on this dvd that's not live played.

I have de original LP with that medley en this is a copy.

And the drums and sound is totally diffrent with the other songs on the dvd.

I know this...cause I am a big fan of James Last. And have a ,lot of music of him.

  • Wow, what an energy!

I wonder what the song that starts at 1:25 is called? I can't get the tune out of my head!

    Thanks for a good upload!

    Best Regards

  • The tune that you can't get out of your head is called Schwarze Estrella - Ay-Ay-Ay. It's the Ay Ay Ay that is the catchy part I think :-) !!

  • @superlast the song is originally a mexican folks song called "Cielito Lindo" ....

  • @SwedishSongArchive the song is called: Cielito Lindo, original by Quirino Mendoza y Cortés.

  • does anyone know where i can get an lp with james last playing valencia and loads of other spanish latin type tunes? had an lp it had a white label but ive smashed it by accident and dont know the title of it. there must be sum james last fans out there who could help me. its a 1970s album i think. please help. it wasnt mine!!!

  • Probably "Around The World" from 1970, a three-LP set with one side each devoted to the music of Spain, Italy, Mexico, Russia, France and England (the Russian side late became one half of the "Rußland zwischen Tag und Nacht" album). Lots of good Latin tunes, including some re-makes of older "Trumpet a gogo" tunes and other numbers like Mambo No. 5 (the real one written by Prez Prado, not the fake one by Lou Bega).

  • Tell the truth you didn't smash it by accident you smashed because it sent you crazy, thats the power of James Last, be careful with it.

  • This ensemble is a beast for real.

  • Cielito Lindo!!!

  • Was brought up with this music. So glad I came across it.

Off to see James Last farewell tour in Glasgow. Special memories. My mum and dad were at this concert

  • Amazing video the music James Last is very special i listening in 1976 when i 10 years old, now i 41 years old and i love this music

  • Yeah... best music from Zuid-Amerika,, south of America i Am also 1 of them ;)

  • This 1978 concert is considered by many Last fans to be one of the best concerts he ever did. It's also notable for being the debut of longtime drummer Terry Jenkins.
