Dude--the creator was a fucking photographer. Photography generally isn't respected as art unless it's in B&W. In no art museum will you see an artist's photographs in color. So being an old school photographer, (started in the 60s) he probably shot it all in B&W to begin with anyway. But FYI, they had color photography long before 1969.

In conclusion, I believe that taking pictures in color could display a lot more information about the subject at hand.
