Aw man, I wish I would've seen this 2 yrs ago. I've got a herniated disc now btw c6-c7. Neurosurgeon says operate, Chiropractor says decompression treatments. They are both confident/persistent on their treatment advice.
when i pretend i have a hook in my sternum like you said, i don't feel relief, i feel like it's putting pressure on the slouched part of my upper back, if that makes sense. it's when i hunch over that i feel relieved of pressure, like i can relax. when i stand upright, i feel like i'm putting actually more pressure on my back, and it's a wee bit harder to breath like that. Is that feeling something that will go away with time as i keep correcting my posture?
I have forward head posture and to much of a curve in my lower back.
This is all from years at a PC and bad posture, it has caused a lot of issues in my past including head aches caused by the muscles in the back of my skull.
Is it always possible to correct this? I am really worried about ending up with a hunch back and fear it could end up beyond being reversed!
The corrections will mobilize the cervical spine, and lifting your chest up will work to reduce thoracic kyphosis, but the bottom line is, if you don't correct your work station to emphasize this posture, you won't get far from symptom relief.
@Henoxen me too, please answer me, if you fixed this, it' has been a year now since u posted this, please help me as much as you can and tellm e how you fixed your head posture, i play video games a lot , and i quit them when i knew i look like a dinaosaur from the side ,please i 'll appreciate u that
I would have liked more information on the problems forward head posture causes; I suffer from vertigo and wondered if it may be caused by this issue. Also, you mentioned disk bulge & I would like to know how that is identified & if it can be corrected. Great video BTW and well explained. TYVM.
i have forward head from reading in bed too much while layng down and also from being a programmer staring at the screen hours on end. ive noticed my height deteriorate because of this - is it possible to correct my forward head and increase my height back again? and how would i do this?
@HolisticSam i have this and i think its the reason why i have back pain. i'm tall but i think correcting this could add inches to my height. when can i see results for this?
good luck to everyone!!! be positive and do posture and stretching exercises daily.

Can poor posture and internal scapula rotation in both shoulders deform your AC joint and make it look droopy without actually being separated?
LOGOS422 7 months ago
@LOGOS422,
It can definitely increase the pressure in those joints and make you prone to impingement under the AC joint and brachial plexus.

@seventeen17van,
Yes, this is commonly due to a rigid thoracic curve that needs to be mobilized. You may wish to research "mobilize thoracic spine foam roll".

@scorpio1066 ,
By doing the corrections as mentioned, you can restore your postural alignment, so the answer is yes.
