  • Thanks for all these uploads.

  • "Get OUT!!!!!" in 5:35 is so amazing!!!!!

  • 1:13 The stop motion for a few second, as you know the picture by Leonard Da Vinci "The Last Supper". I love the scene.

And I love the first song of this scene, I feel the best song in this movie :)

  • It's like the Jeromy Kyle Show but singing/screaming :P And with a rock theme, I grew up watching this film, Ted Neeley can reach notes I haven't heard people like Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) or Geddy Lee (Rush) reach :o

  • Kids from the '80s might recognize one of the apostles as Jeff the mannequin from the TV show Today's Special. ;D

  • hey guys

  • En mi opinión: el mejor actor (junto a Jesús) y el mejor cantante es Judas

  • 1:11 Strike a pose!

  • Anyone else see the use of the sheep as Judas runs off at roughly 6:08 ? and then the camera zooms in on Jesus. It's like he not only realises Judas is the one to betray him, but it is the start of him losing his 'flock' of followers, barring the rest of the apostles back at the tree. I've seen this hundreds of times but only just clicked to all that.

  • At 2:23, Judas is like "Ok, tmi Jesus, I lost my appetite now"

  • I wish my computers volume went louder :) Love this song so much & no matter how loud it is I stillll wanna turn it up more.lol

  • what is a jaded mandarin?

  • @psonnega by "jaded mandarin" judas means a worn out wise man. In ancient near eastern culture there used to be officials called mandarins.

  • I love this entire musical, I always have.

But I always thought the lyric "always hoped that I'd be an apostle" was sort of funny. I never really thought of being an apostle as a career goal.

  • @UnBroken11100 yeah lol me too

  • I had dinner with Ted Neeley :D Great and honest guy.

  • This made me cry when I was a little kids watching this :,(

  • 1:12 Leondardo da Vinci: The last supper. Awsome : )

  • I love when it starts at 5:03

  • ANDERSON KICKS ASS!!!!!!!

  • 2:21 Judas seems to be thinking "You didn't just say that... Now you'll be with me until I die." You can see he really didn't want to turn Jesus in, but because many more would have died unless Judas turned his best friend and ally in, he really felt that he had no choice.

  • @ShadowPoet174 - Yes, and it's also a subtle nod to the Gospels, which say that Judas ate before the others and was a tip-off that he had turned in Jesus.

  • to be outside under a tree, it sure sounds like he is "eating the microphone" you can even hear the spit sticking to his teeth.

  • Nice Gatorade as wine

  • @Komnenit - actually, in SW Germany, I had a wine called Trollinger of exactly the same color and consistency. I've been trying to find it in the USA ever since.

  • Anderson and Neeley are having this freestyle battle near the end of this scene. Kind of like dueling banjos, but with Neeley winning.

Best vocal collaboration in the whole movie. Whole lotta funk, soul and emotion going on here. Awesome.

  • whoa did he just turn that water into wine?

  • @Islandscene09 If so, it happens off camera and VERY subtly. But if that was a directorial touch, I'm very impressed that a) you caught it; and b) Jewison employed it. I've seen the JCS movie probably 30+ times and never caught that.

  • Anyone else think that the apostle second from Jesus' left with the dark curly hair and the moustache looks like Frank Zappa?

  • 1:13 Mr da vinci 's last supper

  • love this part!!!

  • The production of JCS I'm in opens tomorrow afternoon- in a church sanctuary, no less! :D Our Judas sounds like a hybrid of Carl Anderson and Joe Cocker. Our Jesus sounds like a combination of Ted Kneely, Carl Anderson and David Cook (from American Idol). Our chorus/ensemble is AMAZING! Super excited!

  • @ShadowPoet174 you thiink you could film some of it? I wouldnt mind seeing some of it.

  • @ShadowPoet174 Or get someone to film it for you? oh and one more thing, its Ted Neeley, not Ted Kneely

  • @MrYushi560 There may be a copy I can get.

DAMMIT! I KNEW I spelled his name wrong. :/

  • Jesus had thousands of followers, but I think Judas was his only friend

  • ;( i want the studio version of this music that i have heard from tape cassette :@ i cant find it.

  • I like the rock star scream Jesus does

  • No, this song from this musical is the best know in the world :D :P

  • I'm not sure why, but even in this dramatic of a scene, I still at least smile at the face Carl Anderson makes at 2:22... It's kinda an "Oh.... I just ate your body...?"

  • @PsychadelicBeatle No way! It intensifies his guilt. It's not funny or smile worthy.

  • that isn't blood... it's KOOL AID!!! lol

  • Carl Anderson as Judas is electric. He can never be replaced.

  • Carl Anderson as Jesus is electric. He can never be replaced.

  • I am so love with Judas when I listen to this video. There will never be an actor/singer like Carl Anderson. He is irresplacible.

  • I am so ove with Judas when I listen to the video. There will never be another Judas like Carl Anderson.

  • I love how they freeze at 1:14 like Da Vinci's Last Supper.

  • I think the "jaded mandarin" plays in with Judas' very first song "heaven on their minds" where he is saying Jesus has basically become more about himself than the message/ideology they set out to be about. Thus, drawing the eye of Rome and the extinction of their people.

Also, my take on the sheep when Judas ran off was to symbolize turmoil in Jesus' "flock" - some of which then later demand (as actual people this time lol) his crucifixion from Pilate.

That's my take on it anyway.

  • @trrrewr It kinda worked out that way yeah but the truth? Those sheep weren't supposed to be there let alone start running. He had to keep running with them or he would have been trampled. But it worked so well they kept it in :P kinda funny how that happens yeah?

  • What does Judas mean about being a jaded mandarin?

  • 5:33 his high pitched "Get out" is amazing!!!!

  • I think for the rest of my life whenever I picture Jesus he's going to look like Ted Neeley.lol :)

18 years of loving this movie :)

  • this is the best song in this play i think, because the voices of carl anderson and ted neeley are amazing, and they hae a very good synchronisation together.

why does he sing like a jaded mandarin if someone knows?

    thanks for posting this

  • I can't decide whether I think the sheep thundering after Judas are really dramatic or just a hilariously annoying ending to an otherwise amazing scene.

  • @julielaughs14 I think it is genius imagery. The loss of Judas has the consequences of taking some sheep astray along with. The sheep represent followers of Jesus (who is the shepherd). So, with Judas leaving like this, as zealous and influential as he is, some sheep go away along with him. AMAZING! GENIUS!

  • @JoedDominique Ha ha, I like your take on it.

  • I love at 2:48 when he realizes he must be mad...

  • Jesus is so afraid. Very sad indeed...

and I thought Murray Head was on the original soundtrack??? Not that this guy does a fantastic job, of course.

  • pause at 1:14 the same frame shot as on the soundtrack photo gatefold album

  • @lake40 It's a replication of Leonardo Da Vinci's piece, "The Last Supper"

  • Hey 5:40 it's the best minute

  • Hey 1:14 is the da vinci's painting but they got the order of the deciples wrong.

  • @Godsaves14 hahahahaha wow XD

  • Ah, the big face-off at 3:29 . Those men were both so musically strong and their voices played off each other so well. It makes me miss Carl Anderson dearly.

  • when judas sings, "You want me to do it?" that gives me chills

  • it's da vinci's last supper painting at 1:14.

  • @timberwolf84 my God you're right!

  • @timberwolf84 That was literally mind-blowing.

  • awesome scene !! thanks for posting it !
