Yes, it is our trad. dance. Nice to hear BG trad. music played by masters like Mr. Irvine and Co. Да, това е народен наш танц. Прекрасно е да чуеш български народни песни в изпълнение на майстори като г-н Ървайн и приятели.
My school holds a music competition, and I have decided to use this for our small instrumental. Has anyone got this in sheet music? Or at least the bass line? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
@moonprincessem The musicians generally have a pair of ears. It's time to clean them and to learn how to use them. Traditional music is supposed to be learnt by ear ...
@edelahaye Theres no need to be cruel about it. Many musicians are brought up through classical which emphasise the use of notation at all times. Some are new to this style and others dont know how to begin to learn something thats not in 4/4. Be happy they want to learn it n give em a hand to start them off. Everyone learns differently.
@edelahaye Then im surprised your not more understanding.i was brought up through straight classical & suzuki method & started trad at about 10/11.It took yrs to develop an ear good enough to learn without notes & my teacher was understanding & helpful. a few yrs more&ive progressed to eastern trad by ear but i understand how hard it is at the beginning.u mustnt get many young straight classical players.
@musicstudenteire Among my students from 14 to 65 years old, I have some classical musicians trained to read music. At the very beginning, they wanted the scores, but after several months, they are just fine with the by-ear method. Curiously, people can evolve.

@edelahaye I didnt say they couldnt- we do, people like you just need to be patient.Im sick of people who get narky and impatient over the fact classical musicians find it hard to learn by ear. Ye're just not understanding about it being a whole different way of learning it.So be nice about the 'clean pair of ears'. When u come from notation, its hard to hear 3/4, never mind rhythms of 7 and 13.I recommend ppl looking to do this music start off with notation 3/4, ear of 4/4 & then this by ear.
The thingy is a Bulgar "Gadulka" other versions are called "Lyra" in Crete (Greece) and Calabria (Italy).
Yeah this Eastwind, in combination with Michael Flatley's Euro-vision piece in 1994, became THE touring International Dance Fest, with EM-Phah-sis on the Irish "Competition
Style", along with OK Flemenco, and so-so Horo Dancers. Later it went to Vegas and the Musicians & Dancers "mimed" to the recorded Music....ah History !
