Saw him at SOFA in Victoria last night!!! Wow! the dude got the conservative Victorians out of their seats dancing, screaming and having a damn good time. Never seen anything like that here in Victoria!! Thank you Prince for waking our little city up....you were amazing!!! My voice is hoarse, arms and legs aching but the energy of feeling alive is awesome. Also so nice that the man came back to see the last stragglers going out of the arena.....Beautiful man!!! The lyrics "I only want to see you underneath the purple rain" was a reference to INXS 1981 album "Underneath the Colours". I also wrote "Underneath It All" for Gwen Stefani years later. I liked to tie my songs together this way. After I wrote The Beautiful Ones inspired by INXS song "The One Thing", in 1992 INXS released Beautiful Girl. I was crazy about Michael Hutchence after Joe Elliott introduced us.

@robyculver I'm a headbanger, and i think Prince is a genius. But, is different from metal guitarists. Heavy Metal is about speed, heavy distortion in guitars, a lot of punch in the bass and drums, and very technical musicians.

Prince is like a Blues guitarist. It is not very technical, but puts his soul into the instrument.

I just saw Prince this saturday in Copenhagen Denmark and he was simply FANTASTIC! The concert was stopped after about one and a half hours because of heavy rain and thunder. But that cannot change my view on this man... PRINCE : YOU ARE THE POWER OF MY GENERATION!!

Yes, we saw him here in The Netherlands this weekend where he gave 3 night concerts at the North sea Jazz festival in Rotterdam. The concerts all started 1 o clock at night till about 3 o clock. Friday he played Purple rain absolutely briliant..the man is a genius. I think there were about 10.000 people each concert.

I was there 4 of the 21 nights. This is the best quality of a video I've seen. Close enough to see his beautiful face. Thank you so much for posting it. I was fortunate enough for him to call me on stage to dance with him. That was unbelievable because I was the only one. I just went to his last one on the 29th and he saw me, smiled and called me up AGAIN!!!! What are the chances of that? I don't know where the Purple One is headed but he will be truly missed by me....what do I do now?

If you look up any songs from Prince you'll find that there are no live versions. Apparently the label or distributor of his music doesn't want any non-authorized music on Youtube. I'm really surprised you reposted it, though I appreciate it.

If you look at the videos I have you'll find a few music videos there. So you'll know that I'm not a person that has any relations with Prince or their label. They just blocked the video I posted pretty quickly.
