I've never seen this movie so I wanted to see the trailer. to see if i'd like it. The fucking trailer doesn't tell me anything about the plot of this movie. GAY! guess I wont waste my time on it.

@Cthrilla It's a TEASER, a mini-trailer made (often when the film isn't entirely finished) to TEASE audiences and get a title out there. This is one of the best teasers of the 80s and it completely captures the spirit of the film without any actual footage. I'm not sure how old you are, but one of the best known teasers without any film footage is for Godzilla, when Godzilla's foot crushes the T-Rex skeleton at a museum.

I have to give it to them, the trailer was great and not really cheesy like other 80s trailers. The movie itself is very hard to sit through, the only good think is the little kid Lewis and his antics. As for Eric, you just want to punch him.

The reason this trailer seems strange is because it's not the trailer for the movie. It's the teaser. I remember seeing the actual trailer for this movie and it was more conventionally presented. Teasers, even today, are always a bit strange and often don't use any actual footage from the movie.

If anyone can find it, check out the original teaser for the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I only have vague memories of it, but I'm pretty sure it was just a voice over with a shot of the caribbean islands. No actors, no plot, no movie footage.
