I would buy a grestch catalina club before any other drumkit for jazz. Such a cool little kit. How's the snare that comes with it? thinking of purchasing one down the road.
Thanks! The snare that was included with the kit was alright. I actually sold mine as I already had a few snare drums that I prefer. The snare was just ok to me. I highly recommend these kits to anyone. Very durable and very consistent sound!
Man, I got my snare... I absolutely love.... It has a rim that won't quit! (the same thing that is working so well for you, when you go to it).. and amazing bite with wood that talks! Talking Wood, Haha! I play contemporary Christian stuff at church. Got it for $220 on Ebay too..... I don't hear a better snare for less than 1000$ anyways, jazz on brother! :)
Yeah I have to say I just spent a week in the studio and the engineer couldn't believe the sound of that drum. he talked about it daily. I worked for GC for a number of years and was able to put that snare up against about 20 other drums at the same time. I'm not a fan of DW kits, but the snares and hardware are great .That DDrum killed the most expensive DW snare we had in stock. I would suggest changing the snares right away. I bought some puresound.
Great job guys! The drummer needs to tighten up his timing on his ride. I mean it is hard to tell but he needs to sit down with a metronome and play a jazz swing on the ride with and be hitting it perfect every time. And thats how you can tell a good drummer from an amateur. So practice that and you could be very good. But Nice fills and stuff and good little combo.
I was a sub on this gig. Never heard the tune before as I didn't even know the title when i posted this vid :) Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
HAHAHA!!! Your comment is so absurd I have to assume you're joking! Please take the time to check out his other videos before suggesting solutions to problems that don't exist. A METRONOME?? You have got to be joking!!
Michael, what kind of hi-hats are these? Any kind of old quick beat or new beat? They sound great!
And you rule man! :)
