  • How many hour is this? 20 hours? How was it?

  • Its about 12 to 14 hours and a comfortable enough trip.

    I'd happily do it again

  • From memory, each carriage has a Western style toilet available plus 2 or 3 hand basins and mirror but no shower.

  • is there a shitter in there and a place to shower in 2nd class?

  • My son is on that train right now. :]

  • Looks a good journey too! Some good sights no doubt!

  • It's a memorable trip and takes about 12 to 13 hours, leaving around 6 pm and arriving around 7 am the next morning.

    I'd happily do it again .. :-)

  • Thanks!

Next trip I want to go and I will be on that train!! I'll stay well away from the food too.

  • How long is the journey?

  • I bought my tix about 1 hr before train left. The train ride was fine. Slept fine. But was woken by the annoying lady selling "ORAN JOOTH". Oh. And NEVER eat the food on the train, it's overpriced and godawful!!! I had what was supposed to be some kind of breakfast, and almost puked. Load up on BBQ and beer at one of the vendors on the platform.

  • Ahh yes .... the old Orang Jooth.

I agree about the food. I bought some BBQ Chicken from a vendor on one of the platforms - it was great.

  • Looks great! helps me decide what means of transport to take from Bangkok to Laos... thanks!

  • Great video. I love the monks coming off the train after your shot of them at the station earlier! We did an overnight train from NYC to Florida this summer and loved it. Fun way to travel. Thanks for posting...

  • i'm going to thailand on friday and we're doing the overnight train thing to chiang mai too. our itinery says its got 4 berth sleepers? whats that mean? :S. it looks like it'll be great fun but it looks like theres heaps of beds on there just all together??

  • The video shows 2nd class airconditioned sleepers.

I think the 4 berth sleepers might be 1st class.

It's a fun trip .... hope you enjoy it.

  • ohh, first class, sounds fun :) thanks.
