rear diff was toast, put in a new/used 99 one and it is ok other than bearing hum. have another from a 04 that I will try this summer.

could possibly be the wheel bearing on that side, the axle will clunk around a bit if it gets worn out enough, do you hear any scraping noises while going around sharp corners?
