Type 1 diabetes is such a balancing act that few can truly empathize with those battling it except diabetics themselves. Even family members cannot quite fully understand the physical, mental and emotional stress that we deal with. I am 39 years old and I was diagnosed on my 9th birthday(fun, huh?) I was always active but I began formally working out both aerobically and anaerobically when I was 15yo. I now take less insulin than when I was diagnosed. Your team is a true inspiration to many. TY
I am so happy to have learned about what you guys are doing. I learned about you through Phil, one of the team members, who just joined our community.
I hope you all join TuDiabetes dot com, a social network for people touched by diabetes.
Since 1966' type 1, brittle juvenile diabetes, I wasn't even allowed to attend public school, at 11 years old (too dangerous). Public education is everything and your doing such a great job!!
i have had type 1 sins 89, i am 40 years old now..so.. about 18 years i have done what i can to feel normal. and for me, it has not worked. this video is great and its good to see that there are type 1s out and about doing good things.
and beerster one does not live with it.we all try to keep it away....its like living with a killer. enjoy your health people.
ive been waiting for a team like this to come around.... im a 15 year diabetic (im 16) and i cycle. i do the STP almost every year and have a perfect bead on it during the day but during the night my sugars plummet. im shooting for 1 day (200 miles) this year and i thank you guys for doing this.

I loved this video. I have a 17 Y.O. daughter who has had type 1 for 9 years. I appreciate all that you are doing for making people aware of the problems associated with Type 1 diabetes. I wish all of you the very best in living with diabetes.
Just thinking, if people do this for Diabetes, anyone want to form a RAAM team for Ankylosing Spondylitis?
