  • I just placed an order for a Vitamix blender. The initial cost had me doing a double take at first, but compared to the doctor's bills after being diagnosed type 2 diabetes, it's more than reasonable. Was going to do a juice detox instead but hate the thought of all that pulp waste, the limited nature of a juicer, and all that natural sugar sans any fiber.

  • @saprater25 Good for you!

  • But apple seeds are poisonous.

    xxx.snopes.com/food/warnings/apples.asp

  • @cool555breeze Hello! If you Google "G. Edward Griffin - A World Without Cancer" and begin watching at 28 minutes, you might be less concerned about the "poison" (cyanide aka Laetrile aka B-17) in apple seeds. If you are still concerned, I recommend not putting apple seeds in anything you make. I don't go out of my way to put them in, and I don't go out of my way to keep them out. If they fall on the cutting board they go to the trash, if they remain in the core they go in the drink.

  • Lady, you're awesome.

  • @loweredlex Thank you so much! THANK YOU! :-)

  • Can you make green smoothies with fresh wheat grass in the vita-mix blender? Will it completely liquify it? I am torn between getting a juicer or a blender.

  • @satxdc99 Hello, sorry for my late reply. Yes you can use Wheat Grass in the Vitamix machine. This can be a VERY controversial subject. I have some information on this topic so feel free to email me (email found on my VitamixLady website) if you'd like to know more...

  • Very informative video and website. I'll be owning a vitamix very soon. Thanks.

  • @SunUp08 CONGRATULATIONS!!! If you use it correctly, it has the potential to change your life... it did mine!

  • Were you in Richmond Costco in Canada today in the afternoon?

  • @BunderaKZT No, that wasn't me ;-) I do my shows in the Southeaster Region of the USA. Most of my shows are in Florida.

  • I like ur website

  • @97sbl THANK YOU!

  • @agapemom This isn't really a juice you made it's a smoothie. When I saw the caption I thought that was what I would see.

  • @Liendelou We call it whole food juice. You can call it a smoothie or a puree, or strain it with a nut milk bag to make a true, fiber-less juice.

  • I purchased a vita-mix blender 3 days ago and its the best blender i've ever owned.

  • @bcparcher87 Ain't it the truth? THANKS for sharing!

  • wow....very knowledgeable! I learned quite a bit in less in 10 minutes...how in the heck do you remember all that, speaking so fast?!? :) Thanks for this video, I just recieved my vitamix today, YAY!!!

  • @rubbersouljmk Thank you! I remember it because I say it 20-30 times a day LOL :-)

  • What is the book that is held up at 9.13?

  • @littlemartin66 Green For Life by Victoria Boutenko. If you go to my website (listed in the description section under the video) I have a link to it there :-)

OK, thank you for the quick response. I have her Green Smoothie Revolution book and wasn't overly impressed, but based on your recommendation I will take a 2nd look.

  • pls,my vitamix has stopped working. It wont start.Any ideal or suggestion on how to fix it.pls help.

  • @gloriouswale What were you doing when it stopped? It is possible you tripped the thermal heat sensor (protects the motor from over heating) If that is the case it is already up and running again. If not, call the 1-800 number on the back of your machine, give them the serial number and see if it is still under the 7-year warranty. If it is - they pay for shipping both ways and it will be returned as good as new!

  • Awesome Video! I love people teaching Positivity...

  • @sinkoski1 Why thank you for the kind words! I'll pay it forward :-)

  • apple seeds contain cyanide

  • @LoraMaeHollingsway Yes they do. You can Google to assure yourself that the small amount of cyanide in apple seeds (especially when consumed along with the whole apple) is safe. If the idea of consuming cyanide in apple seeds bothers you - don't put apple seeds in. I do not go out of my way to put the seeds in the drink (if they fall on the cutting board I throw them away) but I don't go out of my way to dig them out of the apple core either - the core has lots of awesome fiber!

  • if cantaloupe is the second most nutritious, what is #1?

  • @umtozzi Surprisingly - Papaya! :-) Keep in mind that I said in the grocery store (and I was thinking of a "regular" grocery store) I know there are more unusual fruits like acai berry that may be more nutritious. And I got this from just one online source. Different sources consider different things in their analysis of "best". According to Dr. Joel Fuhrman's ANDI Index, the strawberry is the most nutritious...

  • wow! You're good a this! I want one!

  • @PapillonPower THANKS! Contact me and I'll help you get one! :-)

  • okay i'm sorry, i have one more question. what do i do when i want grapefruit juice/orange juice. i cut my fruit into pieces and froze them because i figured that i won't have to use ice. but, i blended it. i love the taste but i hate that it's so thick and pulpy. what do you recommend so that it won't be so pulpy. i just get thick pulp with oranges and grapefruits. never a juice. please help me. thanks.

  • @iroc31407 You will never get Orange (or Grapefruit) Juice in a Vitamix like extracted juices. The best you can do is water it down or use the Orange or Grapefruit with other ingredients. My favorite Green Smoothie when Oranges are in season and sweet is one whole orange, 1/2 lb of Romaine (use less if you aren't used to greens yet) and about 2 cups of ice - blend until ice is melted. To see how to make extracted Juice in the Vitamix - use YouTube search and enter - Rene Oswald Juice

  • Where is the study showing the percentage of fruit (of an apple) digested by just chewing it? I’d also like to see a chart of chewing vs blended foods.

  • @Entropy56 the study was done by Vitamix and they compared the broken open cells under a microscope - Google "Vitamix Breakthrough Research" to see the pictures. Google "Vitamix and Lycopene" for a different study that indicates that ONE nutrient is made 3 times more bioavailable due to the way our blades break open cell walls. The 98 vs 2 percent was in my training materials. I'd like to see that chart too :-)

  • @agapemom Thanks for the info. I have a Vitamix and Norwalk juicer. I watched all your videos and only have one disagreement. You said that juicing produces just "sugar water." It would have been better not to have said that or get into juicing vs blending debate. I've watched many videos on juicing and they also have a strong opinion about the superiority of juicing. I think they are both great and am better off using both.

  • @Entropy56 WOW - I covet a Norwalk Juicer. For what it is worth, I called it "natural" sugar water and at least it has the enzymes (if consumed right away). I would use a Norwalk for GREEN juices which I fully endorse, but for the sugar heavy foods like oranges, apples, pineapple, etc. (and to some extent carrots and beets) there is simply too much sugar for optimal health (esp for people with candida issues). HOWEVER, a pineapple-beet-carrot juice beats a Snicker's bar ANY day! :-)

  • @agapemom A friend of mine bought a Vitamix at our local Costco three days ago. She liked mine and I also showed her several of your videos. We made smoothies together and she had to have one for herself! It was just coincidence that Costco had a sales demo this week and saved her some money. She also got the dry container in addition.

  • @Entropy56 There is no better price on a new Vitamix and no easier way to get one, than to catch a Wholesale Club Road Show in person! Enjoy your smoothie making! (BTW have you considered joining my Vitamix Enthusiasts Yahoo Group (email list) Google Vitamix Enthusiasts to get the link.

  • I noticed that you did not use a carrier juice as a base. you just added fruit and ice. how do you ensure that you don't get a bitter taste. i have just got a vitamix and the demo recommended using cranberry juice. they always add extra juice. so, i want to know how does it come out tasting so good without a liquid juice base? thanks for your response :)

  • @iroc31407 As long as the fruits are fresh and in season they are full of flavor and sweet. When they are not in season, I add dates (in a demonstration) or Stevia (at home) to sweeten things up a bit. The Ice adds extra liquid. I prefer not to add juices as they have the fiber removed and if they are store bought, they are pasteurized (which destroys enzymes).

  • you're an AMAZING woman!!!!!!!!!1

  • @sobutterfly1 Why thank you so much - you made my day! :-)

  • What Vitamix model should I get for juicing? Also, do you need a lot of fruit to make juice? I need to know cause I'm gonna be on a limited budget lol

  • @morgothaod I recommend the 5200. Please visit my VitamixLady website and contact me - I can get you free shipping and give you complete answers to your Vitamix buying questions :-)

  • I oredred a Vitamix today and cant wait to try it !

  • @Glamournaily Congratulations! Do me a favor? Tell your friends who are jealous of your Vitamix to order from me! (All of my contact info. is on my Vitamix Lady website ;-)

  • @agapemom I would do this definitely, but i live in germany :-)Thanks for the awesome videos !

  • @Glamournaily You are WELCOME! Are you enjoying your Vitamix? You can join my Vitamix Enthusiasts email list - we share recipes and ideas (the sign up is on my website)

  • Did you know that there are more pytonutrients in a single apple than all of the phytonutrients that we can extract from fruit and vegetables to make supplements?

  • Great Presentation! I just ordered a Vitamix for my wife, son, and myself. I personally do not eat enough veggies b/c of texture of some and taste of others. I love fruit though so, figured I could hide the bad veggie taste with some fruit. I subscribed to you and will check out your site also because you look like a lady who knows her Vitamix. I can't believe I have NEVER heard of this machine until 3 days ago. After some research on the net, I HAD to order one! Continued great health to you!

  • @lew708 You're gonna LOVE it!!

  • this was great! thanks for sharing!! I LOVE my vitamix....this encouraged me to try a challenge also... :)

  • this looks like Costco LOL. I really want one a VitaMix. I think I'll have to treat myself. This is an amazing machine. They last for years.

  • !! look at those pouring skills! haha what a great idea to pour multiple cups like that!

  • @roskandy Thanks!

  • I just had a quick question about the r.p.m.s, you always hear from companies that make and sell masticating juicers that they run at low r.p.m.s, since high rpm machines kill the enzymes and nutrients in fruits and vegetables. Is this true; how does this affect "blender style" juicers? Thank you.

  • @Napulitano88 Good question! It is heat (and nothing else) that denatures the enzymes. In a masticating juicer the grinding causes heat at the location of where the grinding is taking place therefore, the lower the RPMs the less heat is created. With the Vitamix when you add ice or frozen fruit to the mix you can complete your blending before the temperature ever gets near the 118 degrees that raw foodist consider the upper temperature limit before food enzymes get denatured.

  • What about the ARSENIC in the apple seeds, not to mention the skin and top area of the apple which is LOADED with pesticides?

  • mikecazzx - that is a common misunderstanding... it is cyanide - not arsenic - which is in apple seeds. The natural cyanide in apple seeds does not accumulate in your body like heavy metals - it is passed through via your elimination system. It takes 3 cups of apple seeds to make you sick (not die, just make you sick). Some people purposely eat the seeds of 3 apples a day in order to get the laetrile (which has cancer fighting properties). You can educate yourself on this topic via Internet.

  • Regarding the apple skin - eat organic whenever you can. But keep in mind, all of the studies done to show that eating many servings of fruits and vegetables helps to prevent or cure cancer were done with "traditional", " pesticide "loaded" produce! Trust me, you are doing more harm to your body by eating one McDonald's hamburger than by eating a well washed "traditional" apple. :-)

  • great vid !

  • @ACEBAKER911 THANK YOU! :-)
