I worked at a state school with very self abusive clients. With a good psychologist and behavior thrapy program you can stop this behavior. I have seen miraculous recoveries. Children do not need to be tortured to stop this behavior.

I use to go to JRC and they gave me shock treatments. I was 14 at the time, it was just fucking horrible. I done seen allot of bad shit everyday there, no joke neither. Nothing but inhumane people, there is NO good about that place at all. I still can't believe it's still open. I mean seriously people need to fucking close down that place already. Either that or i'll burn it down or something. lol

One of my students is mentally retarded and physically disabled. He has muscle contractures. He's in a wheelchair. There's a whole team of clinicians that decides his treatment. We have a thing that goes in between his legs to keep them apart. He hates it, he is always trying to get his leg over it, so the PT keeps putting a weighted pillow on top of his knees. He has splints on his arms that he tries to get off and he cries out in pain when he gets stretched. So would you consider that torture?

work for everyone and sometimes the students get into trouble again after they get out, but the evidence is there that it's effective. No treatment works 100%, by the way. You don't understand what's going on in their heads anymore than I do, you just think you do.

Why do you think that they are tortured and punished? When I worked there they had more rewards and fun than any place I've worked since. Did you work there? If not then you don't know. They would get rewarded with treats all day. There were treats in all the classrooms that they could earn for good behavior. So if this therapy is not good, what makes you think that drugging someone to the gills and/or strapping them down on a bed 24/7 is good? because that's what some of them were subjected to before they came to JRC and that's what is likely to happen again if they don't get it in the future.

You're an empath so you must've felt Janine pulling her hair out and banging her head til her retinas detached, or Brandon nearly starving to death and biting holes in his cheeks, both before JRC.

@immoley So why you pat yourself on the back and think you have a miracle cure because your child no longer has visible wounds you in fact have sentenced them to a torture far much deeper than the one they lived before. Before you knew Janine and Brandon were hurting because you could see the harm they were causing. Now they hurt worse. On a level that doesn't show on the outside.

The wounds they live with are now more acceptable to you all because they aren't visible they are internal. As an Empath I feel some of these children pain, as I looked at photos of a few I was overcome with the terror and pure hell they feel inside, very confused as to why they are not love and why they are punished so severely. Torture can make the human conform under any circumstance, that is not just to extract information from a terrorist which torture will do, but will make a person say do and behave any way you want just to make it stop. Ask yourself if any of you can really understand what these children are experiencing mentally and physically inside. Sometimes the wounds you can't see hurt much worse than the ones you can.

@KingRadbadical1988 why is it okay for the physical therapist to "torture" the young man at the day program where I work, by stretching his legs? he is in pain every second and is crying out every second and it goes on for an hour, and he is strapped down on a foam mat while it's going on. Why is that okay, and what JRC does is not?

Apparently Physical therapists make a joke that PT stands for "pain and torture". Real funny, meanwhile, JRC has a bad rep. Go figure.

yeah, great research. Did you actually talk to any JRC parents or Dr. Israel? Did you talk to any students? Anyone can look up stuff online or in a book and cherry pick the stuff that supports their agenda. Have you actually visited the school? Some deaths have occurred there just as some deaths have occurred at every agency that serves the developmentally disabled, but I guess you didn't bother to look up what happens at other places.

I don't want empty excuses. Dr. Israel, nor the parents of these children, nor anyone is 100% sure about this being GOOD therapy, just as no one is sure it isn't, in that case one should side on caution and not on the side of extreme. When his patients are still there 10 years later I say the therapy doesn't work. 100's of other people agree with me, very few agree with his theories or medical practices. We could all be wrong. Doubt it.
