I charged a guy more than his Esteban Guitar was worth to fix it for him. I guess that does say something positive. OK maybe not. In short they try to glue the bridge on the top where the finish has already been sprayed on, and the glue won't penetrate the wood to make a decent bond. I reglued the bridge after removing the finish and the guy was elated. They sound OK. It ain't a Martin, or Hauser by a long shot, but they are markedly better than the cheap stuff from my youth.
For days? Whatever dude, I bought mine in 2007 and the sound is still crisp and clean. It only cost two hundred bucks. My guess is you're hatin' because you're just a rich kid who can afford all the Taylors you want.

the esteban guitar i've played was pretty good. sounded great and played alright. no need to trash talk the guy. the guitars are cheap as any real guitarist would know, but they are of a much higher quality than any otehr guitars i've played at that price level and i've been playing for 6 years so i've got a bit of experience on me. don't bash the dude just because you don't like his guitars or his style. you don't have to buy them and you don't have to listen to it.
Well if what you are saying is true then I must have purchased the only good Esteban Guitar. No, I doubt that. Maybe you just happened to purchase one of his Guitars that was made after the workers got high earlier or something because I have played all sorts of Guitars: from Gibson on down to Taylor and none of those Guitars sound better then mine. I have lost track of the Guitars because I have been to a lot of music stores. But whatever, anyone is free to believe their own lies.
This guys guitars are garbage, I bought one, could barely get it tuned and while playing it one of the frets just dropped out. never had a guitar do that, threw it in the garbage one month after buying it.
A friend bought me one of his guitars from QVC. I sent it back! It was a crappy cheap made in China. Look like a toy guitar. Shame on him and QVC for misleading people in thinking this is a great sounding guitar.

Esteban is a average guitarist, who managed to bully old grandpa Segovia into giving him a few lessons. His left hand never recovered from car crash. His guitars are made in China for 5 bucks,then sold for $150 to you yappies out there...really nice gig! haha Esteban live and Esteban on CDs are not the same guitarist...or he has really good digital editing engeeners. BTW, lets see and hear you yappies play some of Esteban "instructional" songs from his DVDs on one of his crap guitars :)
I bought an esteban guitar years ago....it was a good one, it has taken alot of abuse and never cracked. of course the strings sucked so I had to replace them but that was about it......great guitar

If your a beginner and like nylon strings there is nothing wrong with this package they are selling. I have been playing over 30 yrs and have concert classicals and started out on a junky $50 yamaha that had a baseball neck. There is nothing wrong with these entrylevel guitars they are all going to be from asia for the amount paid. I admire esteban smart man ,business man and a good cause helping others.

He was a student of Segovia who wrote Stairway to HEaven and a bunch of other stuff but Esteban got better and Segovia got jealous and tried to run him over in his car in Spain. Esteban was in a coma for 8 years with every bone in his body broken! But he learned to play again and started making guitars. He's an American Legend!!!!

They offered a full refund AND offered to pay my shipping cost to return it. I declined because the problem was minor. So if he's such a rip-off artist, why would the return policy be so liberal? And that is to say NOTHING of the quality of his lessons. I'm on the 9th of 10 DVD's. His instructional method is excellent!

I love how so many people say it's good "for the cost". Well, if you buy a quality instrument, you won't have those problems associated with an esteban (like returning junky guitars) and it'll last longer. Some of the comments stating that Esteban only teaches simple chords are comments made in ignorance. I'm on lesson 7 and have learned songs such as La Paloma, Malaguena Rumba, Aura Lee, Greensleeves, and others. He teaches complex songs in a easy to understand manner. Does he have the fastest guitar fingers in the world? Who cares? He's got a HUGE heart, he's an excellent guitarist, and has fought hardship to get to where he is today.

I bought the Vintage Esteban guitar in November of 2007. I couldn't be happier! It's an excellent guitar for the money. His instructional video alone was well worth the price!! Thank you my friend Esteban!!!
I bought one at the flea market for 10.00.I went to the pawnshop to hock it to buy toilet paper.I waited in line for 15 minutes.When I got to the counter the girl took it to the office and I heard a roar of laughter.She came back and said she could lend me 5.00.
Ok, everybody knows that Esteban Guitars are made in China and that the Reliant Guitar Co in China makes Martin Look Alikes and that that Martin Factory is right next door . . . hmmm. Because of the "Easy Return" policy, if you don't take your Esteban to a luthier and have it checked out and return it for a different one, then you are just plain stupid. I have three guitars all from the same factory in China and have had to return two of them, before I got a good one. But what do you expect!!
Actually the wood and the craftsmanship are excellent on all of them for the money. As far as fading . . . stop leaving your guitar in the sunlight, that will ruin any guitar . . . I don't care what the make is. Beyond all this . . . stop being stupid. Buying an Esteban guitar will not make you a virtuoso. My Esteban amp sounds as clear as my Fender Princeton tube amp at normal listening levels. But don't try maxing the volume out, it's not suppose to be a performance amp for a concert hall
The amp is only supposed to be used for a little extra amplification to enhance the acoustic guitar, c'mon now! You have to know how to pick and choose and if you can't send your merchandise back till you get a really good one, then stop shopping Esteban.

Damn, I recently bought one of his guitars, the monte carlo one. Hopefully it's not a total waste. Any good websites where I can buy a good guitar for a decent price. Especially an accoustic guitar.
Esteban plays good on some tunes, but I did buy one of his guitars in 2003 and it sucks . The machine heads cracked and the "rosewood" fingerboard faded. So yes the guitars are sweatshop crap.

the esteban guitar i've played was pretty good. sounded great and played alright. no need to trash talk the guy. the guitars are cheap as any real guitarist would know, but they are of a much higher quality than any otehr guitars i've played at that price level and i've been playing for 6 years so i've got a bit of experience on me. don't bash the dude just because you don't like his guitars or his style. you don't have to buy them and you don't have to listen to it.

Well if what you are saying is true then I must have purchased the only good Esteban Guitar. No, I doubt that. Maybe you just happened to purchase one of his Guitars that was made after the workers got high earlier or something because I have played all sorts of Guitars: from Gibson on down to Taylor and none of those Guitars sound better then mine. Esteban is a average guitarist, who managed to bully old grandpa Segovia into giving him a few lessons. His left hand never recovered from car crash. His guitars are made in China for 5 bucks,then sold for $150 to you yappies out there...really nice gig! haha Esteban live and Esteban on CDs are not the same guitarist...or he has really good digital editing engeeners. BTW, lets see and hear you yappies play some of Esteban "instructional" songs from his DVDs on one of his crap guitars :)

I bought an esteban guitar years ago....it was a good one, it has taken alot of abuse and never cracked. of course the strings sucked so I had to replace them but that was about it......great guitar

If your a beginner and like nylon strings there is nothing wrong with this package they are selling. I have been playing over 30 yrs and have concert classicals and started out on a junky $50 yamaha that had a baseball neck. There is nothing wrong with these entrylevel guitars they are all going to be from asia for the amount paid. I admire esteban smart man ,business man and a good cause helping others.

For my money, the Esteban is perfect in this regard. The incredibly high action is positively agonizing. My fingers were hemorrhaging blood within mere seconds. NO aspect of this guitar is comfortable, from the body shape (which could best be described as "shaped like a diseased rhinoceros") to the frets (that gouged into my hands like needles). "

Ok Mudgarden. You got me on the spelling of Albert's last name. I have purchased three Esteban guitars and had a minor problem with one. They offered a full refund AND offered to pay my shipping cost to return it. I declined because the problem was minor. So if he's such a rip-off artist, why would the return policy be so liberal? And that is to say NOTHING of the quality of his lessons. I'm on the 9th of 10 DVD's. His instructional method is excellent!

Some of the comments stating that Esteban only teaches simple chords are comments made in ignorance. I'm on lesson 7 and have learned songs such as La Paloma, Malaguena Rumba, Aura Lee, Greensleeves, and others. He teaches complex songs in a easy to understand manner. I bought the Vintage Esteban guitar in November of 2007. I couldn't be happier! It's an excellent guitar for the money. His instructional video alone was well worth the price!! Thank you my friend Esteban!!!

I bought one at the flea market for 10.00.I went to the pawnshop to hock it to buy toilet paper.I waited in line for 15 minutes.When I got to the counter the girl took it to the office and I heard a roar of laughter.She came back and said she could lend me 5.00.

Ok, everybody knows that Esteban Guitars are made in China and that the Reliant Guitar Co in China makes Martin Look Alikes and that that Martin Factory is right next door . . . hmmm. Because of the "Easy Return" policy, if you don't take your Esteban to a luthier and have it checked out and return it for a different one, then you are just plain stupid. I have three guitars all from the same factory in China and have had to return two of them, before I got a good one. But what do you expect!!

Actually the wood and the craftsmanship are excellent on all of them for the money. As far as fading . . . stop leaving your guitar in the sunlight, that will ruin any guitar . . . I don't care what the make is. Beyond all this . . . stop being stupid. Buying an Esteban guitar will not make you a virtuoso. My Esteban amp sounds as clear as my Fender Princeton tube amp at normal listening levels. But don't try maxing the volume out, it's not suppose to be a performance amp for a concert hall

The amp is only supposed to be used for a little extra amplification to enhance the acoustic guitar, c'mon now! You have to know how to pick and choose and if you can't send your merchandise back till you get a really good one, then stop shopping Esteban.
Please read these posts in reverse order, but I have to say that being able to buy an inexpensive guitar off of the television as good as the Esteban is still a great deal once you get a good one. Esteban Rocks!

Damn, I recently bought one of his guitars, the monte carlo one. Hopefully it's not a total waste. Any good websites where I can buy a good guitar for a decent price. Especially an accoustic guitar.

Esteban plays good on some tunes, but I did buy one of his guitars in 2003 and it sucks . The machine heads cracked and the "rosewood" fingerboard faded. So yes the guitars are sweatshop crap.

because the guitar he plays cost more than any of us will ever make the ones he sells are cheap quality nad sound very bad I have an Ibanez 12 string guitar and it sounds a lot better than the guitars this guy sells you

Esteban plays very well. If you want to see his ass get blown out of the water, do a YouTube search for Tommy Emmanuel and listen to some of his stuff. Esteban would have to get on a step ladder just to kiss Tommy's butt!
