Ok, ok. that was a sitfly attempt. I thought you were trying to stick your arms back to arch. lol I was laughing my ass off. So bad my headphones fell out. Nice video.
in order to flip yourself back over, arent you supposed to put one arm in close to your body with the other arm extended out and pivot your body towards the arm that is close to your body then restabalize yourself once you have flipped back over.
@lllBlueSkieslll Ow, I don't know if its in Belgium only ( where i live & jump ) or simply only my dropzone, but they refuse freeflyers if they don't have an audible alt.
And i definitly agree with them, that's why i said ' must '.
@Zilounay There are certain dropzones that require you to have them and there are some that don't. I know that when I started learning to sitfly, I didn't have one. I was sat down by one of the coaches at my dropzone and was told that I should have one all the time, if I was really concerned about safety. So now I jump with one all the time.
It's the same as certain dropzones requiring that you have a AAD. There are dropzones in South America that require you to have them.
I kept "potato chipping" and rotating around on my last two freefalls. I think my legs were bent upwards too far, I wasn't relaxed enough, and of course, my arch wasn't quite up to speed. First one I stabilized before pulling, second one though, I was still rotating when I pulled. No line twists though. Determined to get it right next time!
haha im no expert but im pretty sure he had his arms and feet in front of him which caused more drag on his front than back, he should have been arching the other way lol
That's something I would definitely do in the future when I have perfected my skills in zero gravity. I will surely love it but I think I need to plant more guts to reap more later...
Nice effort lol and it was waaay better than my first sit attempt. I was corking all over the place and was laughing hysterically throughout it. keep at it
By the title of the vid, I was expecting an awkward chute deployment, belly facing up. After all this guy may have done pretty well, the position doesn't matter until you pull the cord hehe.
True that he didn't seem perfectly comfortable with mastering positions. All jumpers must get through this phase.
he just seemed to be having a bit of a hard time flipping over ha ha I'm going to start the AFF course this weekend! Scared shitless, but I'll get over it.... I hope
refreshing vid. If that's a 1st attempt at sitflying, not too bad! My first one, i was whirling like hell, second like his, third was so-so good, 5th I had it, and could make turns - it's all in the firm, symetric posture and relaxed attitude...
He could have been a belly flier with several thousand jumps. freefly is completely different and even experienced belly fliers flop around for a while. There was a lot of movement and fall rate changes in the jump so it was pretty well filmed.

@moderndani You must have an audible altimeter to perform a freefly jump. This does not allow you to ignore your regular altimeter, but it helps :)
Zilounay 1 year ago
@Zilounay You don't necessarily HAVE to have one. But it is a GREAT deal safer to have an audible along with a regular altimeter.

Definitely a great first attempt! He seems very relaxed while flying on his back and never turned to his belly.
I remember my first attempt and it was horrible, from the exit until pull, all I did was 300.000 uncontrolled loops :)
That jump was a reason for jokes for weeks :(
