Halo, Trojan Horse, Better Than Heaven, and Letter To My Son are real tight tracks from the new album that show their original style. Biko, Signs, talons, and Your Visits Are Getting Longer are some good tracks that show a new style.
Shorter, I meant. I guess I just hope them to be longer. Totally, Intimacy has been their best album by far. Even more than Silent Alarm. And that album was tight.
i actually enjoyed weekend in the city, songs like i still remember, sunday, n kreuzberg to me are work of genius, and even if overall the album wasnt that good, this few songs like made up for all that due to its impact, intimacy is kinda different from wut im use to hearing by bloc party, but there are nice tracks none the less, halo, one month off, ion square, better than heaven,talons, then there are the weird and kinda lame ones like signs,mercury and ares
I agree Mercury is a bad song but I think Ares is worst( Both there lyrics are good but they sound bad). Bloc Party is really good but Weekend In the City was a bad CD. The only songs I liked was Hunting For Witches, Flux, and I Still Remember. I definitely Think Intimacy made up for Week In The City, but I still don't know if Intimacy is as good as there first CD Silent Alarm.
Mercury is a very good song, but you need to listen to it a lot before you can appreciate it and then it becomes genius, Ares kind of the same. All the songs of the new album are great, in my view. Of course I have favorite songs but I like all bloc party numbers, also those of Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City.
I second everything stein said, except for the Ares bit; I've loved the song ever since the first time I've heard it. But it's true about Mercury - at first I was like, "OMG what the fuck did they do?!" next I was like, "OMG why the fuck is this song so addicting?! It's terrible!" and now I find it pretty intense.
It's a matter of keeping up with and accepting the change, really. Bloc Party ARE in fact musical geniuses, in my eyes. Constantly reinventing themselves.
keles guitar sounds terrible. but i think it's the camera audio quality because it's not usually that bad
