i think that he doesnt normally sing like that..cuz normally they dont make that kind of music..they are more soft rock..but live,his voice keeps being soft rock...so when he starts jumping and trying to sing hard...he can't...i luv jars of clay...

Soft rock? I would never call Jars soft rock, they have always been more an alternative band with the occasional turn towards roots/countr ("Who We Are Instead" and "Redemption Songs" and some of "Good Monsters") or rock (some of "Good Monsters", some of "The Elleventh Hour", and definitely "I'm Alright" from "If I Left the Zoo", and "Crazy Times" from "Much afraid"). They do many styles and I have seen them live a few times and they definitely have the energy of a rock band and Dan usually

sounds really good singing rock songs, so I am betting he is pretty sick here, and the jumping and such he tends to do in their live shows too, he just has a lot of energy. lol :)

i agree, i'm no speech therapist in fact i need to see one myself because when i sing, i tend to strain the high notes (like Bono lol), but it's hard to cancel a show when you're that big.

i love how people always make excuses...the old "he has a serious" cold line.....just take it for what it is...he had a shotty night on vocals...he usually does better...but it was an off night...don't make excuses

I have met Dan personally and he is a very humble man. All of the Jars guys are amazing. He's a musician trying to put on a show and he's got a serious cold. The show must go on.

agree..but as a former lead singer in a band..the other guys can have have a cold..bronchitis..I always felt jealous of them!..it's the toughest instrument to play (voice)
