this is bill frisell in a nutshell doesnt suprise me a bit saw him at the space in evanston may 14th 2011 it was a saturday and he was amazing his band was amazing small venue cozy awesome night set only went an hour and a half but it was worth every penny did some neat stuff
I did a little research, the guy is Hank Roberts, bill played in his band and Hank plays in one (or maybe more) of Bill's CD's. the he is in is called LITTLE BROTHER BOBBY.
I like Klein guitars too but unfortunately they didn't respond to my mails and are not available here (Belgium) ! And now I've got a Tom Anderson and no more money ! Bill's playing's great, btw.
@MarkStrat A belated response, perhaps, but that is indeed Han- anytime you see the shoe up on the snare drum it is him. I am pretty sure no other percussionist in history does that.
@jakesimmons815 Yes. The notes are more important than the guitar. And a great player will sounds great with any guitar. However, you would be ignorant if you don't think the guitar make a difference in sound.
@emfolla of course it will make a difference but what my point is, Bill is unique no matter what he plays. I will know its bill if hes on a klien or if hes on a les paul.
@emfolla I respectfully disagree, I think he sounds much nicer on a Tele. The Kleins are a cool guitar though. He sounds like Bill Frisell with any guitar however.
Cool! That was a very good documentary on Dutch TV. They also had some great tunes from a quartet concert (the one with Curtis Fowlkes, Ron Miles and Eyvind Kang). Jaybeearr, if you have the rest, could you please post the "When you wish upon a star/Bob's monsters" tune, it's amazing.

It is really too bad Bill doesn't play Klein anymore. He definitely has a unique sound with it.
