yes, ju jitsu originated in japan, it was used by the samurai to face opponents in hand to hand combat who were wearing armor, thats why there's no strikes in ju jitsu. it would do you no good against an armored opponent
yea ok jujitsu is good against a mma fighter , boxer, kung fu or other but put a jujitsu professional to fight against 2 people while he is grabing one the other one will punch him or to do what ever he wants to the jujitsu fighter but put a kung fu fighter or boxer against to people it can kick their asses at the same time

@osmarchito but what if the kung fu fighter or boxer has to fight two people and at least one of them is a jiujitsu fighter???
And that is why MMA consists of both ground and stand up. Equal respect to both.

Mitsuyo Maeda introduced judo to Brazil in 1914. Maeda taught judo to Carlos Gracie (19021994) and others in Brazil. Gracie named their development of judo 'Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu', as in Japan and Brazil at that time, judo was also known as 'Kano Jiu-Jitsu'. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, considering itself independent of judo, did not follow later changes in international judo rules that were added to emphasize the standing phase of the fight.
