Ok so i have a couple questions...the first question i have is can you join straight out of highschool....also what is the difference between producing and editing.
Hey im 13 and have a chance to be a director check out my channel and tell me what you think I wish to be a youtube pathner and save up the money to go to this school thanks.
im thinking about attending this college i really want to get into acting i feel i have alot of potential for it. + i live in NY. this college is only like 45 mins from me.
Is it worth it to do this? I'm losing sleep over deciding whether or not I should go to Film school. I LOVE film, filmmaking, the behind-the-scenes stuff. But, we all know it's not a stable career, and I don't want to starve..
Is this a good film school? because I've found nothing but mostly bad reviews and I really want to go here but I dont want it to be a waste of time and money.
How is the acting AFA program here? I really have been thinking about applying to go to NYFA.. Is it a good program? Do you make a lot of films? I really want to be an actress
can i ask something.. im 20 years old and im studying in greece at a university for hospital management .. but im finishing in a year.. can i apply for this academy beacause i love acting :D..when im 21.. or its just for younger kids ????? if you can reply .. thanx a lot.. :)
hello I'm 16 and i would like to go to a summer program this summer,I have 2 questions do i have to be staying in a hotel or you have like rooms and the other is the summer program i want it to be in acting for film do you have that for summer or not?
the chick is in porn at 0:13 if you go to x ham ster dot com (i had to do it like that) if you go on that and type in teen maid and click the one with the pink shirt she is at the top of the page you will see the exact resemblance of the two people so i say this nyfa is ass that is all
This school looks brilliant. I'm interested in filmmaking/cinematography and screenwriting, but I'm from Australia (the film schools here kinda suck). Is it possible for me to attend, maybe next year or 2012? (btw, I'm 17, turning 18 next year). Thanks
@MiKKA335 It's the same thing with me, except i'm from Norway. Problem is that this school is not on the list of schools that have been verified by the government so you can't get a scholarship. (At least in Norway) Kinda sucks because i REALLY wanna atend this school next year.
@Natlurvsyou4ever Hello! NYFA offers teen musical theatre programs during the summer at our New York Film Academy location in Manhattan (New York). The workshop is a four-week class taught by Broadway professionals that includes classes in tap, voice, and acting and culminates in a final showcase.
I think this is my dream school! I'm from Switzerland and I would really like to make the BA program in filmmaking next year. But I don't know if my school degree is the same like a Highschool degree in the USA. I did the regular school here and made a 3 year business training (school and working). Is this enough to go to the NYFA or what do I need to go to the school??????
@thewebmogul going to NYFA is NOT about your thirst for film attention, you learn a variety of teachings in film industry, the Academy's faculty is comprised of professionals who have real-world experience, pushing their students' creative abilities to the maximum. Their courses are taught through a balance of classroom instruction, hands on workshops, and immediate experience. NYFA is a professional, hardworking school that have no time for child criticism nor dead beats. have fun doing nothing
0:15 the ghetto filmmaking strut :D they should've snapped their fingers while flaunting down the room, i am so ambivalent on deciding to do this, acting, or screenwriting next year. Couldn't NYFA create a 4 week program for all 3, i would devote myself to work that hard it's my passion<3
@Missimagination261 Students in our programs live and breath their subjects while in school, so we can't really combine topics. However, we do have short filmmaking and acting workshops and a two month screenwriting workshop. You may not be able to study everything at once, but you can attend a couple different short programs to get a taste of everything you want to do!
so, this is gonna be my last year in high school (in september), and i've taken a theatre arts class. I know all about impro and such, so i was wondering.....going to that academy, would it be a good thing? I mean, i wanna be an actor so, can i start of my senior year there? Do u guys have other subjects? or is it just acting?
@truecorbinfan We're glad you're interested in studying with us! Attending acting school is a great way to prepare for a career in acting and can give you a leg up on the competition when you start auditioning. We also offer programs in filmmaking, producing, musical theatre and many other subjects. Feel free to give us a call at our NYC campus at 212.674.4300 to talk to an admissions counselor or request info right on our website. We are happy to talk to you about our different programs!
@zac1XII You can enter most of our courses at any level. We'll catch you up quickly, don't worry. ;) If you are just trying acting out for the first time and aren't ready to commit a semester or a few years, yet, check out some of our weeks-long acting programs to see how it suits you. Then you can apply your credit for the short program towards more extensive work with us.
@freddyvoorhee Actors normally agree to work on student films for free, in return the student filmmaker will guarantee them a copy of the finished product. A very generous director may even give the actor any footage they have of the actor (alternate takes, omitted scenes, etc.) and we encourage that.
@NicoleSBL It's ok if you don't have acting or filmmaking experience. Our programs are intensive, and our instructors will help you pick up practical skills quickly. You just have to be willing to work hard. Check out our website for more info about what we can offer you! You can request information right on the site.
@emmytaylo heyy im darren im 20 from chesapeake virginia if we all who have this dream put our minds and time to it we can make aa very nice project if ur done reply
I've been thinking about attending the NYFA Masters in Filmmaking program, but I just need to get some good advice, before I finally decide to invest two years of my life for this. I hear some saying I could learn it on my own, just like some of the great directors, but I just don't know if I have the time and energy for that. Everyone has different ways of learning I suppose.
@levar1979 An education in filmmaking can be extremely beneficial to your career. In addition to receiving expert instruction and feedback on one's projects, students also have the opportunity to network with one another and their instructors. At the end of the program, students graduate with several films completed and a reel of their work. Of course, everyone has their own way of learning, but there are advantages to spending two years working hard with people of similar interests and goals.
I'm a filmmaker from portland or, and I'm interested in your school. I want a no nonsense film school that will help you make contacts and teach you the skills to be apart of the film bis. please get back to me. I'm looking for other filmmakers to work with on film. check out my work.
Hey there! I am an actress and I feel the same way! I am looking for a summer camp that will be serious and teach me how to act better in films. I have some prior experience with short independent films, so I want a school that is not just for beginners or other people that may think that acting isn't very serious and are more interested in fame.
Actors for the most part work for credit and for a copy of the film that you're directing. You can have agreements with your actors that if you're to make any money from the film, then you would pay them for their part in it as well.
But going there was worth it, was it? I imagine it costs at least $8k to go there. Right now I'm just looking at how I can make really nice professional looking short videos. Any books, channels or movies you'd recommend? (I'm on a budget.)
It's fine. You get out of it what you want to get out of it. Don't let this video deceive you though, it was shot during a 35mm course that lasts 4 days. Also, I've never seen any of these students before. They could be actors.
