Umm... You guys DO rearlise that the makers and actors of the show ALL state that you are supposed to laugh AT alf.. not agree with him?? Warren has been quoted saying how much he HATES when people say "Good on you my son" or "ALF you keep telling them blackies whats what". I don't blame him. Shows what small minded people watch tv and cant read between the lines or SEE whats being presented to them. Never the less AMAZING show and scene.
Just utterly brilliant! How ANY of them kept a straight face, I don't know! Priceless comment about Alf being "the product of a Tory education" Shows the hard left leanings of writer Jonny Speight. Trouble is, like all raving lefties, he didn't anticipate how much empathy the majority of the public had with Alf - we were all trying to rub along with each other, and that was always going to cause friction. However, making fun of it all is the best lubricant. (After KY Jelly, that is!)
The whole point of this video was that often racists cannot see that they are racists. How often do you hear "I'm not a racist but......" followed by a racist comment?
The BBC have confirmed that they will be releaseing In Sickness & in Health series 3 - 4 on DVD in 2009. series 1 - 2 are NOW on DVD. And the Christmas Specials are on DVD on November 03rd 2008.
They said they will do 2 releases per year so help me spread the word about to any one who is a fan of In Sickness & in Health. Thanks
Rock74 is right - the geezer is definitely in Snatch. The people who say he can't be as the clip is 20 years old are wrong - the tracksuit Alf wears is a West Ham Butka one from the 1991/92 season. Funny as fuck anyway!
Yeah, I think it was towards the end of the In Sickness and In Health series in the early 90s....it was funny because Warren Mitchell is the complete antithesis of the character he played, even to the extent that he is a long time Spurs fan.
Ok all fan's. In Sickness and in Health is Pending DVD release. The BBC have not yet got a release date, but. The complete first series will be released soon. so if you can spread the word to all other fan's so we can get all 6 series and 5 Christmas Special's on DVD. I can't wait???...

I think the West Ham player WAS the guy in Snatch and he was also a regular character in Desmonds.
