  • THUMB.

  • Saw your performance in Bloomington last night, Laura! You were great! I think this was the song that stole our hearts :-)

  • wow, this is an amazing song, im stunned, ive never heard anything like this

  • Man this is an awesome song!

Is their any way to get the Kalimba sheet music for it though? I'd really like to learn how to play it

  • Is there any way to get the Kalimba music score for the song? You can only get so far with repeating it over and over again ;-P

  • I absolutely love this song. The lyrics are great - they make me laugh every time I hear them ^_^.

  • I read a review of Laura in the Globe and Mail today and just had to hear what her music was all about. It is like something from a childs' dream on a level of Shakespearean brilliance and charm. Keep on keeping on, Laura!

  • The first time I heard this song I was driving in my car at night, just before christmas. I actually pulled over it was so enchanting! Thank you for one of the most uniquely beautiful songs I have ever heard.

  • Wow. I just found my new inspiration to stop biting my thumb-nails.

  • Me too.

  • I first heard this at Lola in London last summer. Really unique sound, I very much enjoyed her set - and the whole weekend. :)

  • I think I heard that Laura Barrett is Stevie Nicks' daughter, That isn't true is it?

  • this is a truly magical little piece.

I had completely forgotten about laura barrett, after moving away from toronto, but its not likely that i will forget again. This is unquestionably one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs i've ever heard.

    Thank you Laura!

  • just like a Joana Newsom of the Mbira

  • i had to go on ebay to buy a kalimba because of this song lol

  • so so charming!

  • I love this song!

  • best song of the first eight years of the 21st century, in my opinion. PROVE ME WRONG!

  • best song of the first eight years of the 21st century, in my opinion.

  • Clearly you haven't heard most of the songs off of infinity on high

    :P

  • I remember when this was posted... When ever I listen to it, it gives me a unique feeling. I like it!

  • I think where the posted lyrics say "On their knees//every little girl's dream", they should say "Underneath every little girl's tree".

  • I've replied, thanks Misha!

  • i always come back to this song ... i find it enchanting.

  • The video is pretty good, the song is remarkable. Reminds me a bit of Pram, which is good for me because I love Pram. I managed to find a copy of the original numbered edition of the ep, now I'll have to go out and get the newer ep too. Great work, and I look forward to hearing the full album in the summer.

  • Lyrics please. It would be great :)

  • Christmas Eve twenty fifty-three

    On their knees

    every little girl's dream

    A robot pony

Comb their soft and luscious nylon fur

Listen close hear their clockwork hearts work

    Robot ponies

  • It's actually:

    "Christmas Eve, 2053:

Underneath every little girl's tree - a robot pony"

Otherwise, thanks for posting my lyrics so people could understand!

  • Oops! Ha! That makes a lot more sense! Sorry about that. Misheard lyrics are always funny.

    P.S. - I love your music! <3

  • Wonderful just wonderful :)

  • awesome, laura!

  • This song is hilariously awesome. The part about them eating cut up plastic bags like lettuce made me chuckle...heck this is brilliant.

    Glad I stumbled upon this.

  • I've loved this song for a long while, but this video is really quite wonderful as well! xo Stevie

  • Great video, amateurish voice. TERRIBLE sound editing, the music is too loud and overpowers the sound of the lyrics, making them annoying and a bit hard to understand. Noisy.

  • choose between seven pony types.. some like swimming, we made those babies air-tight!

  • beautiful song and video.

  • i am a robot!

  • AWESOME!!

  • someone rocked the thumb-kalimba hard!

  • I can't stop listening to this, I love it!

  • Freaky and surreal.. I like!

  • it's okay :)

  • Elegant video, Laura. Nice to see it getting some attention from the good people at YouTube.

A nice, ironic use of Pravda. (A shot in the dark, but somehow I don't think Stalin had Robot Ponies in mind when pumping out this propaganda. Although it would give new meaning to "armored cavalry...")

  • Hey there, stranger! Nice to see you on the 'Tube. :)

  • Hey, I'm in law school... What else do I have to do?

  • I love this song! <3

  • WEIRD!!! but cool

  • What an excellent sentiment! Thanks for the translation!

  • lol ur really smart!

  • What language is it in?

  • Russian

  • alright, i love original music and artsy music videos but this just didnt do it for me. little slow, little lacking of a point( or i just missed it) and the music was a little long and moany.. not to mention repetative. i beleive you have the skill and the vision but this is lacking something.

  • "Ritalin."

  • Spot on darlin'! Very cool execution.

  • Belle mise en scène. Facile à regarder et écouter. Merci.

  • Holy no way, Laura! This gets featured just after meeting on Sunday?! Just so you know, I've never been featured, and I do the dancing every day, so this is great! My favourite Toronto single in years!!!
