@lolitsanthony It depends. Do you have your sprites cut out? Or are they in a sprite sheet? If they are cut out, yes, you have to resize them one by one. I'm pretty sure that's the only way. If its in a sprite sheet what I would try to do is resize the whole sprite sheet.
@lolitsanthony If you need help on resize just post the problem. I'll help you. I'm the same guy who made the video. It's just that I created another account. Anyways if you need help, just ask.
Dude, I'm having a problem with photoshop... I try to paint just one pixel but it kinda blur it... the only way I found to resolve this is was to use image>mode>indexed color.. but you know, this sux cause I can't use another layer and some colors just change... can you tell me why this is happening?!
@Maruceroooo Probably you are using the brush tool. Check to see if your using the pencil tool. Grab your brush tool and press "Shift+B" it should change to the pencil tool. Go to size and replace your number to one. It should just be one pixel size.
It's cool, but you need help on what? Editing? Resizing? I'm sorry I don't get the Marisa sprites being compatable thing? Can you explain just a little more so I could be of more help.
I've seen that done before but I don't know how to use MS Paint with sprites. I know its easier but for some reason I like Photoshop better. It feels I have more control over what I do. Thanks for the post!! I'll look forward to learn Paint.
Isn't there minimize button on top of the screen layer? Just click on it and it should go back to normal. about the zooming in just press "Z" to activate the zooming tool. I just have a question, "Which version of Photoshop are you using?"
I don't understand your comment? How do you zoom in Photoshop? Or how did I zoom in the monitor? Just explain yourself a little better so I can help, ok? Al right, see ya.............
I'm not sure but I think this version of Photoshop is very limited. I think you should look for the other versions of Photoshop..........I have version 7.......so there is a big difference in the newest versions of Photoshop now a days. I think is CS3 and CS3 Extended? But you can look for older versions of Photoshop.
If you go to the official Adobe website there should be a trial were you can download for free for 30 days, then you have to upgrade.
Well you can find some tutorials online. There is a bunch of them out there. Just look for specific tutorials online and you can build up your knowledge.
thanks SOOOOOO MUCH dude but one thing when i get it bigger some of the edges are like cut off idk if its went weird or wat......if u can explain pleez
i also have another problem well im using a mario sprite and a mario bax and when i drag him to the other place his colors all effed up aaaaaand i cant go on any of the layer thingys like i cant add a layer or anything
Maybe one of the Mario sprites was in "Index" and not "RBG". Thats why when you change to "Index" color to resize your sprites make sure you go back to "RBG" so your sprite colors work properly again, ok? I'm pretty sure thats the problem. If your in RBG and "Background" layer is lock. Double-click on it and press enter. It will unlock.
Well, when you use the method I told you how. The sprites lose some quality, but not that much. The program needs to draw more pixels for the picture to grow. Its just quality its losing. (I think? hahahah.....)
OR
I don't get what it means like cut off. You mean the edges of the sprite go out of the framing? or when you resize the sprite it didn't draw it properly. If you can specify a little more I can help you a bit more. Please. Feel free to ask anything, all right?
like some of the peices of the sprites are missing like i did this luigi sprite and his eye was missing *from super mario world* so uhm.....ya and can u explain the layer thing?
When you resize it loses some quality from redrawing the whole sprite. So you can just edit from your original sprites if its missing something from the original. Its not the best method to resize, but thats the only one I know.
Your colors went wrong because you were working in "Index" color.
If your working with your sprites in "RBG" color you can unlock layer, add layers, and everything else. If you work with sprites with "Index" you can't unlock layers or add layers. It depends on what your working on.
I have a question. how do you edit the character and make sure thats all the other sprites are edited the same way so they look the same. Like if you make a character with more hair then how do you make all the other sprites have the same amount of hair?
If I'm not mistaken your talking about editing sprites......so if you make a character with long hair you have to edit every single sprite with long hair....I don't think you can edit one sprite and have all the sprites be editing at the same time.....you have to draw on every separate sprite by itself.....If you still have any concerns go ahead and comment back, feel free to do it. Hope it helped in some way. Take care.....
Yup, have to edit manually....Unless there is another way but I'm pretty sure thats the only way, though. Thats the dedication of sprite editing!! It could be boring to edit all of them. But at the end the reward is cool.........you have your own original sprite edit no one else has.!!!..........take care, see ya.
Go to the official Adobe website there is a trial of different programs for about 30 days or so, you can try for free. But, I think you register first, it's free though, so don't worry.
Well, I don't remember the site. But its real easy to find sprite sheets. Just "google" it and type: "Spider-man sprite sheets" or something like that. Then go to images and there should be some sprites from different games containing Spider-man sprites. If not go into the websites it shows. I'm sure you'll find more than what your looking for. There is a lot of useful data out there in internet. Well, hope it helped a little, all right, see ya......
I'm glad it was of help making this video.....if you have any other troubles just ask.....i'm trying to think of other tutorials people might want, but if you have any ideas feel free to comment........
I think both ideas are great, I'll probably try both and see which one comes out better.....So keep tuned on the other videos.........and thanks for the ideas man!!!!
You can use, Paint, it usually comes with Windows, if you need help, just ask.....I'll be glad to help....so anything trouble comes up just comment...and I'll try to be of help...take care....and see ya.

for some reason my sprites are really small how do i get them bigger
MasterMario22 3 years ago
Well, there is one way I use. Its real easy. Open up your sprite sheet or your sprite.
Then go to:
-Image -Mode -Indexed Color (If its on RBG its going to blur your sprites)
Next highlight your sprite or sprite sheet.
-Use "M" key, the square marquee.
Then: press "Ctrl+t", grab one corner (hold "Shift")
-Drag the corner to desired size. Press enter your done!!
(go back to RBG = Image+Mode+RBG colored)
If you have any questions, please comment back to see if it worked.....

Make sure you using RBG Colored not Indexed.
Go to:
-Image -Mode -RBG Colored.

If you work on "Index" everything locks.
