  • Florida does NOT have an income tax. Their taxes come from property taxes and sales tax. So if a rich person lives in an average priced home and doesn't buy a lot of stuff, they are not going to pay a lot of state taxes. I notice that Cenk did not put up a chart of the amount of federal taxes paid by these same rich and poor people.

  • Trickle down economics in the form of geography:

if immigrants all arrive in New York, they will eventually spread out and reach LA.

Taxing the rich in the form of geography:

if immigrants all arrive in New York, and you give them plane tickets to LA and jobs in LA, they will go to LA.

Which one sounds like it'll work better?

  • The fuc*ing republitards and tea baggers are coming, helppppp!!! It sounds like they're saying, I can barley hear, but it sounds like "give us your wallet or GET OUT"... I'm not sure folks but I think it's time to start gathering all the guns and ammo you can lay your hands on. This is most likely gonna get ugly!!!

  • OMG we are so fuc*ed.Is there anybody in the middle class that will stand with me in 2012 and put a stop to this bullshit?Down with Prick Scott. Thanks asshole for nixing the bullet train you brain dead retard! That money was granted by the Federal Government(our income taxes dipshit)and you had no right to give it to another State. It was not YOUR money. You do not represent Florida's best interest. You should be impeached. You skinhead NAZI son of a bitch!! Kiss my Floridian Ass!!! Go to hell!!!

  • Goddamnit Cenk!!! How many times do the sane people of Florida have to tell MSNBC!!! We didn't vote for this monster DIEBOLD VOTING SYSTEMS DID! And when he breaks out of Florida politics he'll be on the MF republican ticket in 2012 with Donald Trump!!! MSNBC WAKE THE F'UP! This sh)t is coming your way in 2012!!!

  • *clap* yaaaa were getting fucked in the ass!!!!

  • And our schools are fucking goddamn poor enough, ridiculous budget cuts all over the place, even in rich towns like orlando...... im so outraged!!!!!!

  • Fuck I'm poor and live in FL.......Shit!!

  • Rich people in Florida pay a lot more taxes because of super high property taxes.

This means rich neighbourhoods get more money and poor ones don't.

  • Highest Corporate taxes in the world makes businesses move out of the country as we have seen. Corporations employ people too and would much rather have them putting a paycheck in an Americans pocket than the government. Show me one government program that doesnt require more money to run every year ... you cant. Where does that money come from to support those programs? We need to level the playing field with China or we are all screwed.

  • What the media (liberals) don't seem to realize about our free economy is that businesses don't pay most of their taxes, they pass it to the consumers. Lowering taxes would still help the people because we would end up paying less because we're picking up less taxes on what we purchase. It's a proven fact, everytime taxes gets cut, business goes up, revenues go up, and more jobs are created.

  • @shtony2717 sales tax is what gets passed on to the consumers. Corporate tax is calculated on the net profit made by the corporation after all deductions are made.

  • Just wondering, do the politicians who cut other people's jobs and benefits cut their own jobs and benefits too?

  • Gov. Rick Scott must of lost his precious ring... "Where's my Precious Ring!"

  • Rick Scott you lil asshole! I hope I'm still alive after your term here in Florida

  • These people are beyond stupid. No corporate tax? How does that help people? How about no income tax and a higher corporate tax?

  • If he cut funding for jails because they're going to quit filling them up with people who smoked or sold Marijuana, I'd be for that.

  • This mindset is not only radical. It is illogical and senseless. I grew up in Florida and I really miss it sometimes, but I'm glad I don't live there now. Even before I left in 2006 the state was already suffering the consequences of all this right-wing ignorant stupidity. How far is this foolishness going to be allowed to advance before catastrophic, irreversible damage is done to our social fabric? I keep hoping that Floridians and the rest of America will wake up and realize how bad this is!

  • I live in Florida...and I'm scared :(

  • Who the hell was clapping for that, they must all be company owners or are idiots.

  • The United States is becoming a plutocracy.

  • @Ragitsu Rather a KLEPTOCRACY

  • I say vote all republican. Make inequality 100%. Only then will people really be driven to fix it.

  • We should also remove the cops off the street so we can prove crime is really bad and thus must be fixed. GENIUS!

  • @Nayr747 Hear hear

  • Who's against cutting the prison industrial complex budget? What are you thinking Cenk?

  • @frictionRx9 again could you try to have a reasonable discussion? again you've avoided telling me how he's a fraud. Also if he is a fraud i can guarantee you he's a much smaller fraud than any of the anchors at Fox News.

  • We are just mere peasants to them. NONE of the public officials care for the poor and dwindling middle class. They only care about their pocket book.

  • @sol3a1 I was agreeing with you the corporate tax rate does need to be higher I just don't like it when people ignore the positives of any idea, no matter how miniscule.

  • Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. Albert Einstein

Albert got it wrong, Only two things are infinite, the universe and human greed, and I'm not sure about the former. Falcon :)

  • I kinda wish Obama was a Communist, in a way. Americans don't seem to understand how capitalism works at all. At least if he were a pure Communist, we might have a legitimate economic system. What we have right now is becoming quite literally Fascism - a marriage of the government and business. This is utterly corrupt, and anyone who suggests that a certain group be exempt from taxes should be run out of office with metaphorical pitchforks. This guy doesn't understand economics or politics.

  • @dEdGrimley . Capitalist? Communist? Socialist? Monster Raving Loony Party? What we need is NO government at all, NO money at all, and NO need to destroy the planet in order to satisfy the profit motive.

  • @dEdGrimley Don't you know Scott is a criminal? Pledged the 5th 75 times during Congressional hearings. The worst defrauder of Medicare and Medicaid. And I don't understand why Cenk is not commenting another scandal yesterday: more 60 bILLION bilked from the same organizations.

  • @dEdGrimley There doesn´t seem to be anyone that knows anything about economics or politics in Tea Party and the Republican Party, and there doesn´t seem to be any electers that does either. Ofcourse there are people who understand this but they are wastly outnumbered...

  • @dEdGrimley They understand economics and politics better than you think.

I wouldn't underestimate them , they know what they are doing .

When they do us wrong it's on purpose ....

And dude I know it is getting bad but don't compare it to facism...

  • @TOTCD

If the GOP is going to call Obama and/or the Democrats Communists or Socialists, then they're every bit Fascist, assuming we're going down the, "You're one extreme or the other" route.

  • @dEdGrimley Well that's called playing their dirty game .

    I get what you're saying . But I wouldn't do it man .

  • @TOTCD

I don't really see how else you're going to convince these clowns how... clownish they are, without resorting to hyperbole. That's all they do.

  • @dEdGrimley Well you could convince your neighbours . Not to vote for republicans who so said care so deeply about the budget . But don't want to increase taxes on the rich.

Convince people around you that these guys are frauds.

So that next time around we don't lose the chamber of representatives to liars.

  • @dEdGrimley If we have no government interference in business then how can we be certain that the private sector will behave with absolute morality at all costs. Once they can absolutely 100% guarantee americans that they have no greed in them whatsoever, then they can do their business without government interference. We don't have to have a marriage between business and govt. but there should be someone watching for another AIG in the making...

  • AHAHAHA!

young turk the pussy liberal coward deletes comments and blocks people who call him out on his leftwing bullshit and post the truth of just how awful his ratings on MSNBCrap really are

lolz this is the same asshole leftwing blogger guttersnipe who claims he doesn't care if anyone criticizes his crap fake news show

young turk is a total fraud and a sellout hack nobody worthless idiot leftwing blogger hypocrite coward SCUM!

    EPIC FAIL!

  • @frictionRx9 He actually has great ratings you pussy nobody worthless idiot rightwing youtuber. name an instance where he's told a lie or misled anyone, and who did he sell out to?

  • @lbss1238062 "He actually has great ratings" hahahahahahaha

FOX News is mopping the floor with this worthless piece of shit nobody idiot liberal blogger

young turk's number of total viewers is atrocious, even CNN is crushing him in both of the key demos

dude, you can't prove your ludicrous claim

    you're a fucking idiot

    YOU FAIL!

  • @frictionRx9 did you know that if you post "epic fail" 3 times in the same comment thread a magic pot o' gold appears at the end of your troll bridge?

  • @frictionRx9 why don't you calm the fuck down and have a rational conversation? Yes fox has better ratings overall but cenk is also the only guy in many years to actually get better rating than fox at all, around last december in fact. he actually beat fox news, and after that spike his ratings have been growing, also you didn't answer my question about the fraud part.

  • @lbss1238062 lolz r u talking about that time young turk made that laughable ludicrous claim bragging that he beat FOX News for like 15 minutes somewhere between 3pm and 4 pm?

ahahahahahaha and he still didn't offer any proof, turk is a fraud and a total fail

    YOU FAIL!

  • @frictionRx9 um...lbss fails? YOU are watching Cenk and commenting on his TYT videos, improving his stats...and you want to talk smack about his 'fake' ratings? YOU ARE GIVING HIM THOSE RATINGS RIGHT NOW!

  • Comment removed

  • @davefgranger Social Darwinism for economics

The Rich caste tramples the weak/poor/unlucky with ZERO social conscience; primitive barbarism.

  • Cenk's show is awesome

It's badass-ery and TYT-ness is so Highly Fucking Entertaining!...

    =3

  • Just even out these taxes and we can pay for everything. How do they justify rich people paying a lower %???

  • @blkswimmer Someone made the argument to me that they justify it by saying the rich, even though they pay a lower percentage, pay more in total money in taxes. This argument is just plain dumb. Even if the top 1% did pay more in total dollars in taxes, they make WAY more than they need to survive. The lower and middle classes have much higher burdens of tax than the wealthy.

I think the first $24k in salary should not be taxed on anyone, and anything above $1m should be taxed at 50% give/take

  • It's called Double-Speak and the Republicans have made it an art form and the baggers are so simple they don't know the difference between Double-Speak and the truth.

  • actually cutting corporate taxes create jobs and lowers the price of goods and services

  • @BorgKing001 - no, if that was the case we'd have more jobs

What was really been happening is the payouts of billions to the execs in billions

Sorry but the idea that corporations are interested in jobs and going on is a lie

The greed of those at the top in "publicly owned corporations" means they are interested in cash and moving up and out, not the corporation which is just a tool for them to use as needed and toss when done

  • @sol3a1 well they did create jobs just in india and china.

  • @lbss1238062 - Yes they did and put US workers out of a job at the same time reducing US industrial security because they are all such great patriots!

  • @BorgKing001 Sure.. Why tax anyone at all? The government is too big anyway, just disband the Government and let every man fight for himself, if you're rich and can hire a private army you can enslave the poor. Fun for everyone.

American right wingers want to go back to the dark ages, literally.

  • @idontfkinknow1234 - You left wingnut, how dare you dis on the rich as they're slaving away counting their cash and how many politicians they own, fucking hard work!

    And you?

Sit back, worry if you'll have a job, medical insurance up to date, how will you get your kids into college, in other words you having nothing.....to worry about

As for your job, volunteer to take a pay cut, that'll keep you employed

Really sick? Well god's calling to you

College? There's a"position" your daughter can take

  • @BorgKing001 I agree with you, totally with the price thing, but creating jobs is a bit sketchy. yes it makes jobs but for the most part not in america which is where we need it.

  • @lbss1238062 maybe not manufacturing jobs but don't forget about sales advertising and logistics

  • 84 billion or million?

  • People get upset when you get specific about things to cut? How about cutting some of the police budget. They are fighting a stupid drug war, they are not stopping as much crime as they should because there giving out speeding tickets, and what is up with them getting new cars? Whats wrong with the old ones?

  • Why the FUCK are people clapping for this?! Why are people so stupid?

  • @dagrimmreepa

the stupid people are sheep and the sheep are what drive America...

  • @dagrimmreepa do you want an honest answer or just something that'll make you feel better about yourself.

  • @benympls Why would other peoples' idiocy make me feel better about myself? Side-note: do you know what a "Question Mark" is?

  • put this on the normal channel it would get more views

  • You want to cut Gov employees? Start with the congessmen and senators saleries. All their assistants etc. Make them pay into their healthcare like everyone in the private sector.

  • @mixroots Well, here is the deal though, right? The gov't used to be a place where people went to, so they could sacrifice for their country and many did in fact take a pay cut buy not working in the fields, or wherever, so they didn't really make a good living while working for the gov't.

Now it's complete reverse - they spend millions to get there, they are paid hundreds of thousands and free healthcare, benefits, etc. They get connections and further their after-gov't careers. Good deal

  • My family lives in FL, and I'm sickened by the sheep who clap and cheer for zero corporate taxes. The industry that created our recession and current job crisis are now reporting RECORD PROFITS and BONUSES, while the top corporations pay ZERO TAXES -now- and send our jobs overseas in record numbers. The voting booth needs a breathalyzer that prevents koolaid drinkers from serving their puppet masters.

  • I hope more tea partiers get elected, so that they can do stuff like this and destroy themselves!

  • @yadsik That is a very stupid way to go about it. Because they will destroy us in the process. :I

  • @SirRavin And then we'll all learn a big lesson.

  • Rick Scott is a big business man himself that is why he has their interest at heart

  • Regressive tax rates are illegal in my country.

  • @P1ranh4 which contry is that?

  • @Dasconscripts Switzerland. Yeah.. the rich one, with the banks, insurances, cheese and watches.. not Sweden!

  • Why would you set up a company in the US when you could set one up in the caribbean and pay no tax. Also the tea party guy acts like a massive gay.

  • Well we do need to cut spending the prison system, but the rest of that shit is nuts.

  • Hell yes we need to stop scapegoating government employees! CEOs in the private sector make tens of millions of dollars per year! Their equivalents (SES, Admirals) in the government make 200 or sometimes 300 thousand dollars at MOST.

  • So we will balance our budget by taking in less revenue. Brilliant!

  • Dude.. Florida's fncked.

  • Well, Florida's gone

  • Ironic that he unveiled cuts to the sick and poor proudly inside of a church founded on Jesus' teachings that say we must give away all that we own and serve the sick and the poor. Corporate america, it seems, owns the churches now, too.

  • @EcrossH "Corporate america, it seems, owns the churches now, too" no churches are corporate America too

Ever had a discussion with a Tea-Buggerer? Their cry is "cut taxes cut taxes, reduce the gubberment, reduce the gubberment" but when you show them that the Military takes up 1/3 of the US budget and that to get to no deficit requires things like cutting funding for parks and such, save the morons who want to sell public land to "developers" who can put people to work, they pull back

  • @sol3a1 Well, I disagree with you on one point: 54% of our taxes goes to the military, not 30%. The government added in what we pay to social security, which is it's OWN SEPARATE PUBLIC TRUST FUND. Social Security funds are supposed to go only towards paying out social security. In reality, the portion of REAL taxes that we pay that goes towards running the government, FIFTY-FOUR-FUCKING percent goes to the military.

  • @EcrossH "not 30%" {sarcasm=OD} oh geez darn I was wrong! {/sarcasm}

    I forgot and thanks

  • @sol3a1 :)

  • Yeah, cuz why should corporations have to pay taxes??? WTF!?!?

  • I actually researched this, he is cutting BUSINESS tax, not just corporate tax. This will help small and medium sized business far more than it helps corporations. Yes it would have better if he excluded corps, but that would have been political suicide.

...and those jobs he is cutting are public sector, which will reduce the cost of govt, and therefore REDUCE the necessary tax burden of Florida's residents.

Your tax graphic is disingenuous, you're comparing income tax, with capital gains tax.

  • @UtubeMyAccountName because capital gains are not income? I fail to understand your point. It's a distinction without a difference.

  • @drmcclus No, legally they are not. They are two separate taxes. They exist at separate rates, with the income tax being several times higher. I personally have to pay both, along with several others.

How do you not know this?

  • @UtubeMyAccountName The tax graphic is not disingenuous, Florida does not have an income tax or a state capital gains tax (I'm not even sure if there is a such thing). The state collects most of its revenue through sales tax. Whenever that is the case people with higher incomes pay a lesser percent of their income in taxes than do people with lower incomes. It's called a regressive tax. Florida has the second most regressive tax structure in the country, Washington state is first.

  • @leroycriollo OK, thanks for the info. So you're saying that Florida has a flat tax, in the form of a sales tax.

Then this makes the graph even more deceptive. Anyone with a higher income, is obviously going to pay less of a percentage of their income, in such a situation. How is this regressive? It is a flat tax.

Are you saying that people with higher incomes should pay a higher rate of tax on purchases for the SAME goods and services?

  • @UtubeMyAccountName I don't see how that makes the graph deceptive. It shows higher incomes paying less of a percentage of their income in taxes and lower incomes paying more. It is regressive because of this inequity, lower incomes pay a bigger percentage of their income than higher incomes. Flat tax is a way to say regressive tax and make it sound nicer. I am not saying that there should be different tax rates on purchases that would be ridiculous. It is better to have an income tax though.

  • @leroycriollo It is deceptive, because it gives the impression that the wealthy pay less taxes, when this is not possibly the case. For example:

    $25,000.00 at 13.5%=$3,375.00

    $250,000.00 at 9%=$22,500.00

    $2,500,000.00 at 2%=$50,000.00

The truth is that, the wealthy are paying more than the middle class, the middle class are paying more than the poor. The graph makes it seem like the opposite is true.

  • @UtubeMyAccountName Don't blame the graph, man. Nobody claimed that they were paying less in a hard number sense. But they are paying less percentage wise. There is not as much difference between $2,450,000 vs $2,500,000 as there is between $25,000 and $21,625.

  • @leroycriollo You're right, the graph is not at fault, that was silly to say.

It is the fellow on the screen screaming that, "...THE POOR PAY THE MOST...", when this is complete poppycock. He is a bold faced liar, or he is an imbecile.

I'm from NY, I didn't know he was talking about sales tax, and I wonder who else didn't know. He gives the impression that he's talking about income taxes, and that they go down as your income goes up, which would be blatant nonsense. So my money is on liar.

  • I thought we were all equal? Why not pay what we pay? Better question. Why cant we pay what they pay?

0% tax rates for everybody. End of Country.

  • does this guy remind anyone else of the sheriff of nottingham?

  • The teabaggers have sown the wind, now let the reap the whirlwind...

  • @grendelcatt

    preach it!

  • I think Florida should just cut Medicare so all of those old decrepit conservative fartbags die.

  • Revolt Against Wealthy Tax Cheats

  • "Im sure a chart in Somalia looks very simmilar." I lul'd

  • Moving to Florida.

  • @romanmir01 You own a megacorp?

  • @dave19941000 No. My own business.

But I am just kidding, my business is in Asia and I am in Switzerland, so.... not moving to Florida. Living in USA still means paying federal income taxes. In Lucern we don't have federal income taxes.

But in USA people are moving to Florida and Texas, and it makes perfect sense.

When Rick Scott says: he'll cut jobs and this will create other jobs, he is CORRECT.

The only jobs he CAN cut are gov't jobs. That's unproductive capital stolen from private sector

  • @romanmir01 Revolt Against Wealthy Tax Cheats

  • @justonefirefly1 and do what for work? Why not BECOME a wealthy tax cheat?

  • @romanmir01 I don't know what you're characterizing as theft. Are you counting the people as capital and therefore working for the public is work that they could be doing for private owners? And then the public is stealing that labor away from helping to increase specific private wealth? Or are you counting the money invested by businesses in common property, which they also use and make money off of, as theft?

  • @leroycriollo First: there should be no common property. Gov't doesn't know what to do with property, how to be an owner, and thus you get all this moral hazard like the 10 million liability cap for oil drilling and BP spill as a result.

Second; gov't is stealing money by counterfeiting it. It has no backing for the money it prints and it taxes your holdings in US dollars with every new dollar printed.

It's also theft by taxing income, so people are made poorer, it's also theft by debt.

  • @romanmir01 really taxing is illigal? so the constitution is wrong?

  • @Dasconscripts The 16th amendment of 1913?

    Was the prohibition amendment right?

Yes. Taxing income and counterfeiting money by printing federal reserve notes without the backing of real gold/silver coins is wrong.

  • @romanmir01 gold and silver really don't matter. They are just abstract concepts.

  • @romanmir01 I don't think I have ever heard an argument in favor of post-agrarian feudalism. Why do you think the government was to blame for the oil spill? I'm having trouble following your logic.

If there should be no common property, then you think all of the roads should be privately owned? Parks privately owned (or no parks)? So instead of paying into a system that keeps things up and running for the benefit for and use by everyone, someone should be making a profit?

  • @leroycriollo Post agrarian feudalism? That's funny. Did you know that during the serfdom the serfs were only required to pay 25% of their total income to their lords?

Do you know how much people are required to pay in taxes today? Many would be LUCKY to be JUST serfs again.

As to the oil spill - the gov't, as always, in its great wisdom, has provided another moral hazard, as always doing the same thing - guaranteeing or insuring something.

In that case it was the maximum 10Million dollar cap

  • @romanmir01 Your right there should not have been any cap on what BP owed for the oil spill. Although I don't see how that was a guarantee or insurance. It was really more of a give away to energy companies that engage in behaviour that risks the safety and economy of everyone around them.

Or maybe even slaves? Did you know that the tax rate on slaves' income was only 0%? Sorry I kinda had to, lucky to be serfs?! Your just making a silly argument there.

  • @leroycriollo Gov't provides guarantees and insurances that eventually ruin something:

1-0% interest rates, subsidies to monopolies, FDIC, the oil cap, Freddie/Fannie, Medicare, SS, EI, Welfare, rules and regulations, minimum wage, etc. etc.

All of these eventually backfire, all of them end up costing more than what they were 'preventing' would have cost.

As to 'slaves' - it wasn't gov't that stopped slavery, it was change in perception. Why? Gov't also outlawed alcohol at one point.

  • @leroycriollo Prohibition and drug war show that if the society is NOT interested in some law, it will not care that the law exists.

The reason slavery ended was not any gov't intervention. After all, even people in gov't owned slaves.

It was due to liberalization of society through increase of education, which was only possible due to increase of wealth. Wealth was rising, again, not thanks' to gov't.

Wealthy population = more educated population = more tolerant less abusive population.

  • @romanmir01

The majority of the country will never be wealthy. 2% control over 90% of the nation's wealth, we have 300 million people in this country, and we have a 15 trillion dollar economy. So 90% of 15 trillion dollars goes to only 2% of 300 million people. Do the math. The US has grave wealth inequality, which leads to the rise of banana republic style country. The oligarchs will never allow wealth to "trickle down" (non existent), it cuts into their money. Greed is rampant in the US

  • @JDrury2010 Majority of the country became much wealthier than their predecessors were because of capitalism and industrialization, but not because of any gov't.

Wealth is a relative term. You are not going to be as wealthy as some, but you will be much wealthier than others. If you do not like your level of wealth, it is not by stealing from others that you rise above, it is by creating something that others want and offering it to them in exchange for profit.

    Products and services = wealth.

  • @JDrury2010 Wealth is about production. The more economy produces, the more wealthy it becomes, and it raises level of wealth of everybody.

Nobody HAS to use outhouses. Nobody HAS to die on the streets from cold and hunger and illness. It is the society that creates enough wealth: food, housing, medical care, etc., not government.

It is much better to be considered a poor person but to be a poor in a wealthy society than being just in the middle of things in very poor economies.

  • @leroycriollo But wealth does not come from any gov't law or spending

Wealth comes from PRIVATE enterprise. Individuals deciding that they are going to try and invest and spend money/time/capital/ideas/labor on something and try and sell it to people. If people buy it - it means it's a good idea and it increases overall wealth of population and hopefully enriches the investor

Gov't can't invest, it has no profit motive in any particular investment and no direction , no ideas. It only can spend

  • @romanmir01 Actually most wealth comes from government spending and investment. Most advancements in technology are from government investment. All the private sector does is marketing and price gouging. I know in theory somewhere in some small village the guy that makes the best ice cream puts the guy that makes the crap ice cream out of business, but come on let's stick to the real world.

  • @leroycriollo Well you see, that's where you are completely off on facts.

Radio, phones, cars, TVs, toilets, telegraph, computers, transistors, capitalism, bicycles, rubber, oil, plastics, construction with steel, Watt steam engine, aspirin, antibiotics, glass, TNT, electrical power, hot water boilers, bread, refrigeration, preservatives,......

That's wealth. THAT is what people make. THAT was privately created. Even when people argue about the Internet - it's only TCP/IP protocol from ARPA

  • @romanmir01

Get out of here with your slippery slope, straw man bullshit.

No one here, or at least anyone rational, is going to argue to abolish the private sector or take a stance that the private sector is worthless, or anything to that effect. BUT, just because the private sector has been amazingly productive doesn't mean that things should be allowed to run amuck. It's not a perfect system and your little straw man argument isn't enough to detract from that cold hard truth.

  • @robinhoodOO7 all that rumbling, yet there was nothing about what it is, that you actually consider to be the truth. I guess it should be self-evident: big gov't is your friend, right?

  • @romanmir01

While that interpretation might help your own argument, it was nothing of the sort. More like there's a common middle ground and not always extremes. To advocate for pure libertarianism is almost as bad and devoid of realistic understandings of society as pure communism. Both are laughable.

By asking your retarded loaded question, are you also stating that 'private corporations are your friend?'

HAHAHA, think again! They're both in the backroom giving each other handjobs.

  • @robinhoodOO7 No, pure communism doesn't work economically, but pure libertarianism only doesn't work politically. There is a huge difference, and USA has shown that near pure form of libertarianism leads to great economic outcomes, that's what the 19th century US has shown

"Private corporations are friend" - I don't know where you read this, but OK. At minimum a private corporation can't jail and kill you (without government authority that is)

    I trust anybody before I trust gov't, that's true

  • @leroycriollo and TCP/IP itself was lifted off the phone companies, who already used packet switching in phone networks.

The point is that gov't can only take what some people create and steal it. They can force you to give up your money and your work. They can kill you.

But they can't CREATE anything. Even when they 'create' something now, it's all private contractors with public funding, that could have been used better privately without these contractors and spending.

  • @romanmir01

So what if individuals in the private sectors have created the very foundation of modern technology. Does that mean their should be zero restrictions? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'd be the first to provide you with a glass of water from that nation's drinking well--with plenty of lead I hope.

  • @robinhoodOO7 There should be no restrictions by government. That's right. Everything gov't is needed for is very narrow and specific: military, defense, justice system. That's it. Everything else is a private matter, and if somebody is selling you water with lead and is saying it's safe to drink, it's really between him and all people who will take him to court and gov't shouldn't be there protecting the business through idea of limited liability for corporations.

  • @robinhoodOO7

The water won't be full of lead, but it will be flammable, thanks to all the fracking chemicals pumped into the soil by energy companies.

  • @leroycriollo Once gov't creates an incentive for something, that something is going to happen.

Oil spill was caused by people not paying attention because their profits were guaranteed. They were guaranteed by the gov't, who put a cap on the amount the company would be liable for: 10 million dollars

10 million in oil biz? That's like 1 cent for me. Put a cap of 1 cent for me to do something that requires me to spend too much energy on it, and I won't do it. Gov't guaranteed the spill to occur

  • @leroycriollo There should be no common ownership of anything, not with gov't involvement anyway, as gov't is not good at all at owning things, at caring for things it 'owns'.

Only private ownership is real. Gov't ownership is an abstract idea that has no meaning at all - nobody will be protecting the common property from damage, in fact many will be guaranteed from any liability should they damage it.

    Gov't is the worst 'owner'. It's really a non-owner.

  • @leroycriollo Gov't always makes a profit on 'common property' anyway, it's just that in case of gov't, the profit is taken in by some special interests, while the damage accrues on the balance sheet of the tax payer.

Would you come home and take a dump on your kitchen table?

What if your neighbor did it, what would your reaction be?

Think about that - you are the owner, somebody shits on your property in your kitchen on your kitchen table.

Your reaction is due to your ownership.

  • @romanmir01 You need to give a better example. You seem to just be speaking in abstract platitudes really. What special interest? What profit? There are loads of things that the government runs at a loss just because they are needed by the community.

  • @leroycriollo Well, clearly there are too many things gov't runs that are operating in the red.

While the economy works and this can somehow be paid for through taxes and through borrowing you don't notice it, but once the economy stops and the jobs and capital leaves, if you don't stop this LUXURY spending you will cause bankruptcy once you are no longer financed by your credit holders.

There are loads of things gov'ts are doing they shouldn't be doing.

  • @romanmir01 Your right there is a lot of unneeded spending that is the result of trying to maintain a global empire, in the case of the United States. The great thing about government is that it can provide needed services even if they don't make a profit, that is one of the appropriate roles of government. Needed does not equal luxury though.

  • The Tea Baggers just clap at anything with the word tax cuts attached;just like trained seals.

  • OH GEE. Fix a deficit by cutting your income? That sounds like a GENIUS plan.

  • Wonder if we can get his felony case reopened and get him some jail time.

  • Damn tea baggers are fuc#ing ignorant..

  • @RogueAutomotive Did you just notice? racist idiots from the get go

  • @justonefirefly1 Its just sickens me that people can so willingly be mislead and stay so blissfully ignorant for so long even when they are given the facts. I don't believe most of these conservative politicians truly believe in half of what they do, they are simply con men taking advantage of the ignorant. They dismiss fact all the time and are still taken seriously, fact isn't opinion, if someone oppose Fact than there's seriously something wrong with the way their brain works...

  • @RogueAutomotive In the EU a member of congress is supposed to represent constituencies of around 29,000 citizens. So in Ireland we have a population of just over 4 million and 166 TDs (congressmen). By that reckoning there should be over 10,000 congressmen in the US. The end result is a totally corrupt concentration of power into flunkies and lobbyists instead of congressmen.

The problem with the US is, incredibly, that there are not enough politicians.

  • is he taking a pay cut? he's a government employee.

  • @hollaboutit He's a zillionaire. It would be a meaningless gimmick.

  • @hollaboutit No, he wants to increase spending on the governor's office

  • california, is nice to the homeless.

CALIFOR-n-i-a, is nice to the hohomeless.

  • egypt time

  • they probably need to cut the prison budget.

fuckin' private, for profit, prison system.

  • @hollaboutit I bet they are cutting government-owned prison systems and are keeping the private, for-profit prisons open. Time and time again, it has been shown that privately-owned prison systems lead to some of the worst abuses of personal freedoms and the false (money money money) imprisonment of innocent individuals
