  • Still think german shepards are the best dogs to have.

  • Excellent. This is a great video.

  • i cant tell the difference...........i just know the irish ones grow biggest

  • beautiful dogs!

  • makes me think of one of those people who carry their dog around asking what you think of it and you could do the line from crocadile dundee "thats not a dog, this is a dog"

  • love the way the wolfhounds just stand round like " calm the fuck down deerhound" :P

  • They look ready to course Deer!

  • Deer hound 2011 Westminster best in show! whats up now!!???!

  • Dang those tags are loud. You should get those things that go around the tags to keep them from clanging together.

  • U can tell they can run by just looking at there legs

  • You needa big dog like that up there from all the werewolve stories up there !

  • beautiful dogs

  • a dog is a dog why the hell does it matter if its "show quality"

  • @thecosmogirl171 We show our wolfhounds if they like to be shown...they are spoiled loved and very well cared for...people who like to show want a dog that is good enough to go in the ring...so it does matter and by the way Wolfhounds are not like dogs....:)

  • all that noise will drive them insane over time.the owners should try wearing one of those noisy collars for a couple of years.

  • @MrHappyebby rofl

  • @MrHappyebby yes I agree...my wolfhounds do not have noisy collars :)

  • @MrHappyebby yes I agree...my wolfhounds do not have noisy collars :) and yes it drove us mad too....Brian get those silly tags of your poor dogs

  • @bribiba Are Wolfhounds hard to manage and are they good guard dogs. i got a Rotti but hes getting old. I need a new dog to help me with my Coyote problem and I cant decide between them and a Kangal.

  • *sigh* i LOVE Irish Wolfhounds :D Adore them actually, but I like Scottish Deerhounds as well, the only thing is, I wish they had longer lives :( It's so sad!

  • the bigest dog in the whole word very buetyfull

  • those are some small people!

but really, i cant wait to get some serious land and get a Scottish Deerhound. i dont know what my Border Terrier would think!

  • These dogs are beautiful, they look really wise and old with the eyebrows. I was on the isle of bute and i saw a boy, early teens with two of these beasts, they were both almost bigger than him. Brilliant dogs though, and extremely loyal.

  • The old Irish and Scottish getting together lol

  • your so luckey to have so many mad dog's,we'd give anything to have just one.

  • what you got round their necks? sounds like Santa's Sleigh coming! :)

  • nice videos this actually shows the difference between the scottish deerhound and irish wolfhound nicely. Interestingly I have a cross of two. He had the bent back in as a puppy but now looks all Irish wolfhound except for the head which is more in proportion to what you would find on a deer hound. Although he is relatively sprightly when necessary despite being 6

  • AW~ They'z so healthy! How do you take care of such big dogs?

  • Those are big dogs.

  • The deerhounds sure have a lot more energy! (For good or bad!) Both great breeds.

  • @zebopper Wolfhounds are far better behaved...they have had a good run and will pace themselves for the long walk back

  • Such pretty faces!

  • No lol, it's names the wolfhound as centuries ago in ireland it was used to hunt wolves among other things. Hence why there are no wolves left here in ireland.

  • i hve hat kind of dog! i have an irish wolfhound too!! his name is Heso as in he so big.

  • is the Irish Wolfhounds a wolf hybrid ??

  • No not a wolf hybrid, just used to hunt wolves many years ago.

  • would never disagree with you with a dog with that size

  • This is great so I rated it 5 star, it really shows how great the deerhound is and how playful it is, love the breed and loves this film, good job :D

  • They're beautiful dogs.

  • sorry if this is a daft question, but could you feed an Irish Wolfhound on meat - i.e rabbit..deer..etc. - or would it have to have a regular feeding of normal dog food also?

    Thanks :)

  • No they need a proper balanced diet

  • We feed our Wolfies a full balanced diet of human grade meat and fresh meaty bones + fish for their omega 3 far better than feeding kibble, but you do need to be carefull that they get everything they need, they also get tripe, heart, lung, liver, etc on a good raw meat diet they wreckon they will live an average of 3 years longer!! thats a bit of a wild claim but every extra day is a big +.

  • @RATTER15 sorry I dont agree....we just had our hounds heart tested and they are fit healthy and very athletic...Proplan Athletic!

  • What do you have to feed these big dogs???

    :D

  • BIG dog food :)

  • lol, i asumed that, but what type of food? Meat, dog biscuites ect.. i really wanna know! :D

  • We feed complete dog food with a little meat added. They need a low protien food while they grow. We feed Purina Pro Plan Robust or Athletic.

  • good video.

  • man $1000 is shit all 4 a dog

  • Then you have to innoculate, feed, walk, look after them 24/7, take them to the vet for health checks, wormers, flea control, illness, accident etc. Pay for any damage they do (I had one eat my sofa's in 5 minutes while I had a shower) and love them to bits through it all. That makes them 'priceless'

  • Indeed, a good dog is a good family member, and who would prefer money over a family member?

  • $1000 is nothing for a companion and friend.

But constantly having tp pay $60 for sandals when my 6 month old IWH eats them is really ticking me off!

  • spending $60 on sandals in ridiculous

  • they got to be comfortable...

Also chewed through multiple USB cables, broke bedframe also!

  • so dont leave them where they can get them du

  • what are you on about? Are you saying that $1000 dollars is cheap for a dog? Because I think it's quite the opposite

  • well, this type of dog, Irish wolfhounds aren't cheap

  • No im saying it is worth it.

  • that is cheap for a wolfhound. i paid a lot more for a show quality full ownership dog

  • well there are some greedy people out there. We charge the recommended club price, our dogs are show quality and full ownership.

  • @bribiba Which one was the irish wolfhound?

  • @bluegama500 the best looking one??;) The quiet well behaved dogs...the deerhound was the one running about mad.

  • @bribiba Ok :D

  • Irish wolfhounds have been my favorite dogs since I was like 6/7, they are so beautiful and loving!~

  • Very Beautiful dogs... I think I'll watch again ..

5 Stars ... Its awesome 2 see people who really like their dogs and take them out for proper walks ...I do the same ....

  • Man wolfhounds are the coolest dogs ever, to bad they cost like 1000$,

  • the best dogs ever i have one boy at the moment and he is a treasure

  • these two breed are my favorite!!! sum people think they are quite ugly, but i think they're really cool lookin.

  • beauty is only skin deep, how sad that people are so shallow! Wolfhounds are the most adorable, beautiful, creatures inside and out!

and they love us lowly humans no matter what we look like.

  • i think they are the coolest lookin dogs I first saw an irish wolf hound when me and my friend were just bored outside riding our bikes and some lady came walking with them we were so shocked they even look like demon dogs with there eyes

  • Size does matter...

  • Are the bells to scare off potential prey in case the dogs get a scent or something?

  • No its just the name tags on the Deerhounds collars

  • lovely clip. my mum bred wolfhounds for years but she just couldnt take them dying so young so she stopped. We had a bitch call sophie who was a champion and perfect family dog, as a small child i can remember bathing and dressing her up in hats and scarfs and she'd just stand there and let us annoy her, so patient. they are the true gentle giants, so loyal. ive been priviledged to grow up with them.

  • how long does an average wolfhound live?

  • wikipedia has it at 4-9 years.

  • Not long, but it depends on the way they were brought up. It's between 8-10 years usually.

  • Great to see your babies. We've had 2 IWs, and miss them terribly. We also had an afghan. I remember a gathering in Colorado of friends with IWs - there were about 12 or so of them, along with ours, and our lonely afghan. The IWs didn't know what to make of the afghan - kept running over to see what he was! Too funny. Give them all a hug for us.

  • skisandhorses, that is just too funny

  • They are beautiful animals! Don't seem agressive enough to attack a mouse let alone deer/wolves!

  • there so cute

  • Nice video, I've added it to our forum

  • The deerhounds are the skinnier more greyhound looking dogs

  • Which 1's were the scottish deerhound? lol. they're amazing.

  • Deer hounds have to be fast so look a bit like greyhounds, wolfhounds have to have long fur as they baited wolves.

  • wow. thanx seonigh. :]

  • Walking? You call that walking? And I thought my pups were going to grow up to be dignified ladies....great video!

  • Beautiful!!! My two favorite breeds romping and playing together!

  • Great dogs!

  • Nothing better than watching biggie dogs playing!
